If you listen to the midi on these old video game songs it's obvious that the guys making this music were more talented than the biggest stars in music today are
True very true these sounds have and will always remain classics I was recently looking into how they made this music and it's pretty complex and amazing I think a lot of producers today take what they have for granted including myself
I feel like everyone from that era had a really deep understanding of what they were doing. Music producers knew how to get exactly the feeling they wanted from their music, and they did it with a way more limited soundbank. At the same time, programming low level assembly requires better understanding than the languages we have today. These people were good at their jobs.
there are retro games which still soundtracks were composed in Famitrack (some software which precisely simulates 8 bit famicom/nes sound chips), like Blaster Master Zero
Swear to god!!! This is my childhood soundtrack! Sooooo many memories of playing and beating this gem🎉 Gets me sad to think that the golden age of gaming is truly gone.....
ICONIC we ... who played this game at a young age this was the start of a journey of a certain generation that would be defined as the ultimate generation we went from analog to digital and are familiar with both worlds
HOLY SHIT...in like .1 milliseconds of starting this soundtrack I was instantly transported to being 7 years old again playing this on the ground with my brother. Good times. Simpler times.
I remember being a little kid and playing this when it came out and getting to the Woods and the music getting so dissonant that i thought i was doing something wrong and about to get in trouble 😂
It’s been covered by metal bands a bunch of times so you probably heard at least one of those. I’m partial to Vomitron’s “Double Dragon” on “No NES For the Wicked” where you hear Mission 2’s theme about a quarter of the way through (it’s a medley).

Unsurpassed still.

3:43 is one of the greatest composed guitar solos I've ever heard
Not wrong man!
Pure fire!
I've always thought so, too! Tom Morello's solo in The Pretty Reckless' "And So It Went" totally reminds me of it!
Great solo, the bass line is awesome too
Swear to god!!! This is my childhood soundtrack! Sooooo many memories of playing and beating this gem🎉 Gets me sad to think that the golden age of gaming is truly gone.....
What's even more irritating is my nephews say the nes songs sound terrible.
endless weekend nights with these sounds, good friends and pizza!!....just sends me back in time!
Kicking eachother ass in VS mode cuz the NES version of Double Dragon is unforgiving .
Believe it or not I was playing this not too long ago on my NES. Double dragon is so fun !!!

Top 5 NES soundtracks, if not contender for best ever.
HOLY SHIT...in like .1 milliseconds of starting this soundtrack I was instantly transported to being 7 years old again playing this on the ground with my brother. Good times. Simpler times.
Cant believe This is Coming back on The PS5!!! And ive been searching for this game my entire childhood untill now 😢 finally found you !!!
1:35 what the hell!?!? there's more to it?!
yup... this must be the most underutilized theme ever
I didn't know either. Really the reason I looked this music to see if anyone uploaded it.
th-cam.com/video/Q3XCkfDLyl8/w-d-xo.html
SpaceManMonster omg there is!
I know right? I was thinking the same thing. In all these years I've never let it run long enough to hear that extra part. xD
That solo at 3:45 is funky
it really is
It's one of the best solos of the 80s 😁
I converted that to my ringtone jajjajajjaa i love it!!!!!
One of the best composed synth guitar solos ever!!
One of the best NES game soundtracks hands down! Still goes hard even in 2024
My workout soundtrack 💪. Anyone else's?
MegaMan 2 and 3 👍
Nope not for none of us you geek
No, but it is now!
Some of them
Never thought of it but will be my workout music from now on
The Abobo theme is one of my favorite SOUNDTRACK🤣
That bass at 9:38 is rugged as hell
Feels good to come back every once in a while
I just picked this game up used and was immediately jamming! That synth guitar is shredding! It's so sick what an epic soundtrack
I can imagine Eddie Van Halen doing that awesome solo at 3:45
these tracks give me power and motivate me
I love to listen to this soundtrack double Dragon ever since I was kid and now...

youve gotta listen to this th-cam.com/video/1BhRHMbJF7c/w-d-xo.html
3:45 LA MEJOR PARTE
I remember being a little kid and playing this when it came out and getting to the Woods and the music getting so dissonant that i thought i was doing something wrong and about to get in trouble 😂
This ost doesn't get the love it deserves
I grew up with the MS version which I loved but also love that kind of raw and crunchy sound the NES version has 🤩
This never gets old.
im 14 years old but my dad is a great player of double dragon
and double dragon is a very important for my
(im mexican my english is so bad)
3:44 until 4:06 sickest music ever considering what they had to work with
I like this videogame, greetings from Guaranda, Ecuador.
😍😍😍😍😍🇪🇨🇪🇨🇪🇨🇪🇨🇪🇨🇪🇨
I'm still wondering how 9:38 music was made in an 8 bit system. Classic nes employees were really worked ahead of time. 💪
Doesn’t even sound like the DCPM channel’s being used; a triangle bass, noise drums, and two square melodies.
I love the cave theme.
1:35: Stage Start
5:32: Stage Clear
13:06: All Clear and Ending
13:31: Stage Failed
Omg who knew Mission Intro went beyond those first few bars?? I never stuck around to hear it lol
on 2:50 my pocket full of quarters.. x)
On these notes, I always imagine (and sing) the words 'Double, Double, Da, Double Draaaagon....'.
Yes, I'm weird.
While listening this feels like nothing is Impossible ❤
Solo los old verga de oro jugamos esta joya en el nes.
Industrial Area is iconic with its unique fill twice over :D
05:37 BEST NES THEME EVER
Somehow this is 100x more badass than the arcade version. Like hands down.
Chin's theme gets me hyped up AF and then I hear Linda's OMG my head is about to explode!
YESSS!!! Linda’s theme is 🔥🔥🔥
God,This game brings back old memories for me💥💥🔥🔥⚡⚡🌠🌠🌠💯💯
This is the street fighting game that started it all⚡⚡✴️✴️☮️☮️🌟🌟✅✅🔯🔯✨✨
Regardless of my age, this is my Time Machine.
if you have a time machine it wont regard your age
One of the best game soundtracks ever.
初っ端から神曲全開のダブルドラゴン
The williams theme always stayed with me...
One of the first games i really got into.
@ 10:49, thats actually Linda's theme...not Abobo's. His theme is after hers. This game was my life
That's correct also, Billy and Jimmy's theme is the title screen theme and Ropers theme is Mission 1 theme
@@ryandiggs750 yep
I was like 6 years old when I played this game, I could never get past the 3rd-4th mission. I always died at the platform jumping part...
Muchas gracias (Thanks).
Mission 1 soundtrack is the best for me!
Industrial Area is 🔥
02:50 This is what you came for!
indeed !! funny i have not played this game for about 20 years or so yet that song still hums in my head from time too time
@@n017kingg7 It's a classic!
Chin & Abobo's Themes are he best.
8:03 WTF....genius
The first song sounds like Megadeth, and the third sounds like 80’s Judas Priest. Maybe people just hear what they wanna hear lol.
Cómo me acuerdo de estos temas en mi nes ❤️
Between this, dd2, tmnt 2 and the megaman series not too many have a chance to rival for soundtracks.
quando eu era pequeno eu cantava assim no 0:13, o pé falou falou o pée o pé falou o pé falou... falou o pée o pé falouuu
my childhood was awesome❤
One of the top 5 nes games, great action and a great soundtrack
i was just about compliment how great the music one track its all great!!!!
Track 1 is my favorite. Also the end the game music for river city ransom
I think there is a little confussion in the title list
10:49 is Linda's theme
11:54 is Abobo's theme
almost sure of that
Spot on.
Ah the memories.. 😊
I played this game so long...
Why do I remember hearing Mission 2 in my head as a full band playing?? lol Still slaps
It’s been covered by metal bands a bunch of times so you probably heard at least one of those. I’m partial to Vomitron’s “Double Dragon” on “No NES For the Wicked” where you hear Mission 2’s theme about a quarter of the way through (it’s a medley).
First love of my gamer life!
The cave goes hard
Total Original Sound buen trabajo amigo Good...
Billy and Jimmy's theme is the title screen theme and Ropers theme is Mission 1 theme
13:18 "Oh, there ain't no doubt, I love this land, There ain't no doubt I love this land, God Bless the US, God Bless, God Bless the USA!!"
This is brilliant.
They mixed up Abobo's Theme with Linda's Theme here. I know because I played this game countless times when I was a teen
They did. 10:49 mission 4-1 then right under you have 11:54 mission 3-3 &4-2 🤦♂️
Welcome back!
goosebumps.
You have Abobo and Linda mixed up. 10:49 is her theme and the other is Abobo's.
00:00 bimmy's theme :3
02:50 will's
05:57 roper's
09:38
10:49 linda's

9:38 is some catchy shit
13:31 pretty much sums up my childhood *facepalm*
You got Linda and Abobo's themes mixed up bro... and William and Ropers... lol
Best soundtrack
11:54 omg crazy food joe hawley
Who only punched in the first two levels?
I did too....So you'd have enough hearts to get the slap attack at the forest (if I remember correctly)
1:35 i think the confusion is that its not that long in the game
****YOU HAVE TO GO INTO THE CAVE AS SOON AS YOU FIND SHELTER OR YOU'LL JUST KEEP WONDERING**** THAT'S AN O NOT AN A ON PURPOSE. OPS WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Sounds like Battle Clash Enemy Intro is based off Double Dragon Mission Intro.
OMAYGAT OMAYGAT ambatukam
11:54 when I heard that music my blood started pumping 1st time! How bout you?
