For anyone that needs help, just keep redoing the tutorial and change stroke width, opacity, etc. play around with it. I made 3 brushes and they all look different
make sure that your essentials is set to classic you can do this in the top right corner. mine said :''The operation cannot be complete because of an unknown error. [PARM] '' probbably it does really matter what size your workspace is people listen good to what he is saying and you will succeed.
I don't understand th epoint of copying the smoke letters at 7:00? Why did you make a point of the letters first being 0.5 width , only to copy them and make the m 3 pt?
For some reason it works great the first time but then when i make a second one it doesn't come out right. when i click and drag into the brushes and do your instructions the second one always comes out facing the wrong direction. it should be a long stroke going parallel with the other strokes but instead it is perpendicular and all squished... Why is this happening and how do I fix it? thanks
How can I remove the space of my ''copy'' option so when I use CTRL+D does not affect the envelope distort effect? My lines get very separated and the effect at the end doesn't look anywhere close to what you've created.
I get an error when trying to turn the smoke pattern into an art brush. I used a gradient instead of a solid color. Could that be the issue? The error says an element in the artwork cannot be used in an art brush or something along those lines
I’ve reached creating the smoke brush successfully but after that my words don’t turn into really anything but a jumble of smoke it doesn’t look anything similar to the word I intended, if anyone can do this successfully please leave a tip
when i envelope distort the effect goes out of the shape and is blurry. I tried increasing/decreasing number of lines and played with fidelity but it always blows out the effect in some misty form. Kindly help
I had the same problem but I solved it! My stroke was set to pt so I made the lines 0.05 PT instead of 0.05 PX which is what is used in this tutorial! I changed it so that my document was in mm and stroke px and it worked perfectly!
I just did this and my brush looks AMAZING! Thank you so much this is going to serve me well

control D did not do anything for me :( Got stuck at that part.
if you're using Mac, try to use command instead of control. hope it helps!
