Another thing I love about this series - It takes me 2-3 play sessions to get through it while I play along,. I love that you sort of build the episodes around reaching ceretain milestones. It's very helpful to break it down this way. Keep up the amazing work.
Cant wait to see, when you get to steel. Thats were i began to struggle, because my whole Factories looked so ugly, i had no idea where to go and it just overwhelmed me. So i spend hours of reorganisation, lost interest and when i came back i would start all over again with the overhaul😅
I just picked this game up 2 days ago and i finally got enough free time to sit down and play and lemme tell ya I'm so thankful to have found your videos. I really wish more people would do these step-by-step videos. I love the challenge of the game but it's sometimes hard to grasp what all is going on and what kinds of things you need to do to get the most out of your builds. 10/10 best series ever. 🥰
A few tips for those of us who may not already know about them. Tip 1: If you have a ticket in your AWESOME sink already, you can add any remaining tickets you have previously gathered to it by dragging and dropping them onto the already existing ticket in the "dispenser" tray of the sink. This will not work if there isn't already a ticket in the tray, so it's a good idea to have a personal box beside the sink closest to you, that way once you do get one, you can deposit the rest. The reason for this is both ease of storage, and for ease of access. You will most likely create multiple sinks and by doing this, you can reclaim all of your tickets from any of the sinks that you happen to be near, instead of having to locate that one, or multiple, sink(s) you happen to have a storage by. Tip 2: Don't listen to the voice that tells you to collect the alien artifacts, at least not yet. Leave them be for now, as they currently are not used in the game. Later, you can go back and collect them once the game hits 1.0 and they have a use. I currently have a ton of them just taking up space in my HUB storage. Tip 3: For those flowers you keep picking up when gathering wood and leaves, once you unlock the customizer those can be crafted into color cartridges and either used or sunk in the AWESOME sink. I recently realized this and was finally able to get some use out of those instead of just junking stacks upon stacks of them.
Dumping cartridges in an awesomesink! Finally! Thanks for the tip, appreciate it! Now, on the "proper" usage: don't we already have a customizer which let's us paint the factory in whatever colors we want? What's the use of color cartridges?
Those flowers are very good fuel for biomass burners. A stack of 500 lasts longer than a stack of 200 biomass, in fact. And, once you have coal power like you said they pay nicely in the sink. Even without making cartridges they give 10 points per. Wire only gives 6 points per. Flowers are the OP item early game that no one knows about.
Thanks for these! Helped a lot. I've always gotten to tier 2, but always quit at this point because my base is just SUCH a mess. Excited to follow along in the next episode!
Oh MY GOD. The crouching method to avoiding mosquitoes. Never new about that. They're the mob I have the most trouble fighting against, usually (even if you're able to slice it down with the basher before they spawn any - they're usually in groups). Now this is gonna be a breeeeze! No matter how long I play, I seem to always learn something new. Thanks for the great video again!
I like building a platform over the nearby pit that has the slug on the ground in the middle, leaving room to still go under to use as a storage for items you want to send up. Build your base out from there and you can maximize more of the flatter terrain.
Hi!! I discovered something really useful, IF YOU DO A NEW SAVE, 30 SECONDS BEFORE THE HARD DRIVE FINISH ANALYSING, AND YOU DONT GET THE ALTERNATIVE RECEPY YOU WANTED, THEN YOU CAN RESTORE THE GAME TO 30 SECS BEFORE IT FINISHES, AND YOU GET A DIFFERENT RESULT!!!! Hope it helps!!! by the way love your videos
Building along with this series is rather Satisfying! Slow and steady is a new way to play instead of rushing the tiers. Thanks for another great one @spectrumdad!
I love that you don't do the silly running jump all the time with the camera wobling camera that MANY you tube pleayers do to save 2 seconds and makes it near impossible to watch without having a fit.. Keep up the good videos.
I love this series. Me and my son started in the same spot and folliwing along. But we grabbed some quartz already and set up some coal power by the lake near quartz cause biofuel is no bueno.
Just found out your channel, been playing all along in satisfactory and it learned me loads! only thing i'm still concered about for future playthhroughs or in 1.0 is making calculations myself or with a tool to optimise branches of factory and such.
The dead logs are a good source of material and there are a ton of them in the area. I chop those so I don't have to cut down the trees in the area. I like the look of the trees. If you walk along the ocean you will come across some pink coral. You can chainsaw the coral and it will give you a bunch of mycelia and silica. The coral is a great source of early-game silica for the windows. There is a quartz cave by the eastern sea next to the three coal nodes. I set up my coal generators in this area. Across from the caterium node, near that waterfall under the rock bridge is a copper node and three iron nodes. I set up my steel processing in that area. There are three limestone nodes next the the waterfall, and three coal nodes up in the crater lake area just above the waterfall. It is a great place to set up the steel items. The three nodes of limestone is enough to do 18 encased beams per minute with concrete left over that I put into storage. I have the encased beams on the upper iron node and the steel beams and pipes in the lower two iron nodes. The copper node can be routed over the caterium to make AI limiters when you start making quickwire. This is a very nice multi-use area.
I would completely recommend getting the rebar gun like he does in the video. It'll at least 2 shot every one of the base enemies (the alphas/big ones take 4 or 5) and once you get used to it you can use it like a makeshift sniper. For how powerful it is, it's really cheap to make and the ammo is just an iron rod converted into rebar in the equipment workshop. Also, I would also recommend going down the caterium research tree until you get the zipline. This one isn't as helpful as the rebar gun, it's just nice if you're like me and hate walking everywhere. Spoilers for the quartz tree below: Also: You can make a shotgun type of ammo for the rebar gun
The Alien Protein can also be used to create biofuel at 1:100 which can help at the early part of the game. Go hunting and you'll have tons of solid fuel.
Been using your guide to provide some sense of direction during my play-through. I have been playing since U8 was released, but haven't gotten too far into Tier 3/4 stuff before your videos. I am following your guide and finding great value in how you are structuring the videos and the To-Do which I am jotting down, but would love a general "x/m" goal list so I can go and run and make my own spaghetti in the beginning :)
THanks for the explanation of the usage of storage containers as buffers, I've been wanting to do that, (have a storage container at the output of all my machines), but never paid attention to how much was going IN the container, vs how much I was taking OUT by connecting other machines, now I know to make sure to have less going OUT, so I can build up some inventory that I can grab when needed, while still providing the machines with materials. Also, I didn't know you could load a Constructor Directly, without using a belt and storage container.
Just wanted to say thanks for this. I’ve been following along so far. This is my second time playing. The first time I had spaghetti all over the place then I got to nuclear and everything was all messed up. So just playing it slow this And following you. It’s been fun, keep it up. Thank you.
Hey ! I keep wondering, in all your videos, you never talk about how you get the ores or certain materials into your factory, so I was wondering if you'd ever talk about conveyor buses or some other method? AND thanks for all your fun and useful videos!
I just started, in the Graslands, around just here in my game ... This series is great and i already improved my initial chaos. ... However, did i got thee story (game loop, motivation) right? A big crop, not caring about employees (see crash sites) dropped me here to make thing, send them back and even dropping the reward as better I'm in making things? ... There is no escape?
For the Solid BioFuel stacks, instead of dividing them up into smaller stacks in my inventory before I put them in the Biomass Burner, I just click on the full stack, to put it in the burner, and the game will automatically subtract what the Biomass Burner needs, so make a full 200 in the BIomass burner. Also, when you run across a Uranium node, stick a miner, belt and awesome sink (From a distance), on it, and you'll get around 6,000 p/m from sinking uranium ore, you can do this right at the start of the game if you know where a Uranium node is.
Can someone help, why does the 'flowrate' become 20 item/minute when connecting storage to awesome coupon thing when belt speed is at 30 item/min? Can someone explain the math? :)
I don't know what do next...I built along with your vids and now I'm unsure of how to proceed... so I built another coal power set up using 2 pure coal nodes up top of the water falls...now I have double the power ( each pure coal node does 120 per minute)...so yeah I was paying attention...). Be nice to continue the build...plz consider continuing the build.
Help me reach my goal of 15k subs by the end of the year! ❤
Heck yeah, boss. You're great at explaining how, and more importantly why, to do things in this game. Subbed for sure!

ok so now i need the 4th part out tommorow i guess jk

xD but when are you releasing Like donyou have a timetabke
A little easter egg is to send one ticket into the sink and you get a secret reward.

Hi Dad waiting on #4 lol
Working on it :)
Thanks!
any chance we can get a heavy modular frames guide?
Mycelia ftw with biofuel. 1 mycelia gives 10 biofuel (5 solid). I oollected 700, found in caves, beats bush wacking.
Great work!
Yep, I didn’t do that because of the time I didn’t have enough to feed full stacks. 😵💫
Can someone help, why does the 'flowrate' become 20 item/minute when connecting storage to awesome coupon thing when belt speed is at 30 item/min? Can someone explain the math? :)
Because I’m merging 3 lines, each can only do 20/min because the output line is a total of 60/min.
I do envy people that don’t want to make all the numbers work I need everything at 100% effectiveness 😵💫
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
Are you using mods? What mods are you using ?
What happened to the series? I thought it was going to include setting up a big factory with buildings and such...???
I don't know what do next...I built along with your vids and now I'm unsure of how to proceed... so I built another coal power set up using 2 pure coal nodes up top of the water falls...now I have double the power ( each pure coal node does 120 per minute)...so yeah I was paying attention...).
