It feels good like an authentic review, not like overmarketed big channels filled with product placements. keep going guys!
Thank you! We hope you stick around the channel!
Respectfully it looks like you guys didn’t fully understand how to get the full tonal range of this pedal. It’s great at dirty and clean tones. Try lowering the drive more and bring down the horn cut down to 2k and then adjust the 3 knobs to taste. This preamp is amazing. Don’t sleep guys
We definitely understand how it works. The horn cut only functions on the amp out output, not the XLR output. They should have a switch to choose for it to go to amp and XLR out, that would solve a lot of issues.
The blend knob is like the option to cut out the $500 you just spent. This pedal has some real accomplishments but definitely has a lot of downsides as well.
Thank you for an AWESOME review !!!! Loved that you were both honest and gave us your best opinion on this pedal . I'll think I'll just keep my Sansamp Amp BDV2 di a little longer and not lose my clean tone . 🎸😊🤟🎶🎵🎶
Thank you Edwin! We hope you stick around the channel!
Thanks for the demo! I've been looking for my first preamp/DI and it's nice to hear some criticisms of this pedal instead of just all praise.
Thanks so much! And thanks for subscribing!
Try the black one. It can be wooly in that Fender way but you get both the Bassman and the Showman and you can dial in clean stuff.
I’d love to try one! Thanks for the comment, stick around the channel if you’re willing! -Carson
@@bassedthechannelT 64 is really nice.Cleans are there easily.
I like the perspective and approach of this vid. Ive owned both the Cali76tx and the Compact bass. I get the hype, but honestly, I was never able to really push the voicing I wanted without introducing a bunch of hiss. You guys touched on this, and I've never seen it mentioned anywhere else. I sold both for more than I paid new, so no loss other than the hiss.
Yes! I just had the same conversation with an upcoming podcast guests (off camera)!
hey guys! just got the pedal today and was really looking forward to playing through it. Using it for a few minutes, I was looking all over the pedal for a switch, because I couldn't access the EQ without blending audible drive in. I have no clue, why they would do it like that..
I would like to take only this pedal to a gig - but then I can't get a cool clean pre-amp sound out of it, except the bass tone that I would pretty much get using a DI ?! that's insane to me for a pedal that's close to 500 bucks... I had high expectations but unfortunately I'm going to send it back. cheers for the video anyways!
I really enjoyed the super vintage. I was able to get good clean tones with drive set around 9-10
Thanks Matt! We hope you stick around our channel.
Diversity of opinion is a good thing! 😊
@@bassedthechannelI also have no trouble getting clean tones from the SV.
Just got myself one, by far one of the best pedals I've ever owned
Glad you like it Nikita! -Carson
You need to bring down the output when you increase the gain.
I would like to see a match up with the tech 21 VT bass DI ( which I own )before I would chase my tail and throw down some big money on this pedal
Good idea!
I own the 2112 and for less $ and compared to the Origin you could do much worse.
Tech 21 Sansamp are great preamp di's
What is the other compressor u have found and like more?
Currently im obsessed with the Union Tube and Transistor LAB compressor, I also like the API CMP Compressor
@@bassedthechannel thanks. I have to check them out. Big fan of the Empress Compressor MkII for guitar, but decided i wanted to try something different for my bass rig. the Cali76 Compact Bass is what i ended up going with. I really like it so far, but as u know, when it comes to bass ur always wanting to try different compressors. Lol.
Sansamp wins again!! They can't be dethroned.
Ha! Sansamps are great
Maybe vintage bass amp sounds are not what we want anymore.
Good question! I mean most of my favorite records are bass guitars straight into a console
Play the bass through the pedal FFS...
Don’t you have a cat to film grooming?
