Man, I feel ya with the whole direct to the noble thing (not that I have one lol), but lately I just prefer my P into just nothing (clean DI). The pristine unaffected tone
Great playing! :/ rounds just sound so one dimensional to me
You know when you earned my respect? “I like the _edge_ of edge-of-breakup” Those opening tones so excellent. I don’t understand this obsession with ditching harmonically-complex tones in favor of distortion or “saturation.” I, like you DIG those clean tones. That’s really what saturation does best, imo - boosts x-order harmonics without distorting the wave very much. And it’s sooooo clear to me when I play my HX stomp straight to daw vs when I’m not-lazy enough to drag out my Mesa TT800 and use it as a clean DI. You can immediately hear the difference a tube stage makes after D/A conversion.
39:14 ish - the inaudible 5th fret harmonic happens most likely because the neck pickup is at around a fourth of the string length (where 24th fret would be). When you hit a 5th fret harmonic , the string does not vibrate on the 5th, 12th and 24th frets (dividing the string into four equal parts). Definitely the case with strats (their neck pup is at 24th fret position)
Older Kings of Leon is far too underrated.
Thank you guys for the honest review (i think it's the only one). It made me understand it's not for me, and I need to look elsewhere.
I'll say it, versatility is overrated.
In a lot of ways I agree! Sometimes let a thing do a thing
Would love to see a Suona thinline fretless bass.
Same
Want this!!
😎😎😎
I love the bass, but I hate the price tag :) Seems like they did a very limited run with these.
Totally agree!
Hi, "suona" means "it sounds" in Italian, I think because you can play it also without amp. Greetings from Italy!
Very cool! Thank you!
Sounds very much like an active bass, scooped, crisp highs. Interesting bass.
Yeah! Sounds like a great jazz bass to me.
I never seen this jazz bass before and now I want one. And you're right, its not on the website anymore. Must've been a limited edition.
Yeah! It was bizarre. Definitely what drew me to it. I liked it much more than I expected.
Super informative
Thank you, friend!
Thanks for doing this, real cool guys
You rule, thanks for checking it out Brad!
Such a good convo, thanks again guys. Keep it up!

I’m tempted to send you my cortex just to convert you. I too was once a “never digital” player.
That's the only one that has me curious......... Bug them to send me one 😊
Shes my inspiration for picking up a bass god bless this lady❤
Very cool
Thanks for another great episode. BASSED. meets In The Pocket surely 😎
Thanks dude!!
What’s your opinion on putting the Noble vs the Capo on your board? Differences?
I use them both! The Noble is my "clean"-ish DI before all my pedals, my Capo is at the end of the chain for some extra saturation and EQ. Capo is by far more flexible, cheaper, and sounds really really good. But they do sound different, they're going for different vibes. -Carson
Formative years are spot on.....Zane Boyd had the bass right?
The problem is that Gibson is lazy and stubborn to upgrade their designs. Make a with compact headstock with light tuners, use a titanium truss rod (they exist) and a super heavy bridge.
Thanks for the comment!
They already shrunk the headstock once.
I just saw Kevin on this tour. He was killer.
He's the man!
I’ve tried everything going and I really love my jazz body precision neck bass that got jammed together
Nice!!
Carson, this board looks awesome-super clean, really creative, and nicely routed, man. Thanks for walking us through it! I'm personally loving the addition of the Strymon Flint; it's such a cool option to have that vintage Reverb/Tremolo. But we didn't really hear anything about it! Maybe you could chat a bit about using reverb on bass?
Thanks a ton! Honestly, it may not stay on it for long. It is incredibly cool but I don't have a song in my current band's setlist that really needs that stylized of a reverb. It's perfect for that like... Twin Peaks meets pick bass sound. I definitely won't be selling it!
Hey boys, love this podcast btw! Nick - have you checked out any Union T&T pedals for analog dirt/drive? You tried any others since this episode?
Not yet but I would love to!

Woof
Loved this
Thanks friend!
OK, one thing I would point out, is with the master volume flat stick, the pedal responds like a real SVT with the output tubes breaking up. The pedal is capable of extremely clean tones, as is a svt by NOT maxing out the output vol.
Sorry friend but that’s just wrong, take a look at the manual.
Do you guys have any experience with the DSM Bass Simplifier? I’d be really cool to a studio focused review of the product
I do not, is that an amp sim?
@@bassedthechannel it’s an analogue amp + cab simulator with a DI and a couple parallel loops
I would watch Andy do karate across the stage ALL DAY LONG!
I had the opportunity to watch Kevin up close and personal during Jazz Fest in NOLA this year and it was amazing watching him, I was memorized. I've never seen a bass walked so perfectly in real life. I'm hooked.
He's the man!!
Kevin, Nick, & Carson: great conversation. Truly enjoyed it. Safe travels all!

You’re the man!
The best! I love Kevin’s playing
He’s great!!
Great podcast! As much as I still yearn to own a Tube Head like a Fender Super Bassman 300W, Matamp, or even that Volta, I do zero gigs that would require such power as everything I do as of now is straight FoH/IEM's. I have a Mesa Subway 2x10 Cab just chilling in the basement unused at the moment. I practice now through a powered PA speaker or a little IEM setup straight off my board. The CAPO is still mighty tempting, as well as their class G stuff. I digress 😂. Awesome work guys!
Thanks friend! Maybe start with a pedal like the CAPO for sure.
Blend is the clean unprocessed bass signal, NOT the mix between the both sides as stated at 6:00 (A and B are serial, not parallel!). all written in the manual!
You're right! I don't think I misspoke, but I didn't indicate I was talking about two separate drive channels. Thanks for the comment!
sounds like theres a lot of players here who know way more than i do on this subject, tho i do like the neck through part for its effect on sustain... you were mentioning cool tbird players, n he wasnt the best but id like to mention pete overend wats of mott the hoople fame.....wrote born late 58......always liked all the way from memphis good player great stage persona.... my2c
Nice! Thanks for sharing!
Great video thanks! My board feels like a tiny mouse now 😂 Bass Pedalboard Demo 2024 th-cam.com/video/bxgoZwkPBk8/w-d-xo.html
I think it's great!

Hos are you powering this setup? Cioks?
I’m using the Eventide cioks larger PSU into a temple audio cioks extension. Then the noble gets IEC directly. I wish I had gone farther in to this, it was an oversight on my part.
Nice board and well thought out. I actually have a Noble but swapped it out for my Ampeg SCR-DI. I was the touring bassist with the Motown group The Miracles for a few years and just needed that Ampeg tone. The Noble is a nice clean tone for other uses though, but in my opinion way overpriced for what you actually get out of it and I’d be scared to death of taking it on the road with those tubes. In the studio I’ll use my Acme DI box direct in more than the Noble as I play a lot of R&B sessions. But the Noble is the bright shiny thing right now so a lot of my fellow session pals are using it as do I on occasion. It does sound good. I use the Source Audio EQ2, C4 and Gemini running through a Disaster Area DMC MicroPro for pretty much unlimited EQ, filter, synth, phaser and flanger options. For an Octave I use the Seamoon Octatron (best I’ve heard and replaced my OC-2). Then Oceans 11 reverb which is rarely used but when you need it you need it.
Very cool! I am really hard on my Noble with lots of travel without issue. I have not babied it at all.
Grizzly is bae. It’s so versatile.
Right? It kills.
Amazing board. Super clean and thought through. I am now giging for such a long time and every year my board becomes smaller and I use lesser FX.
Thanks so much friend! Hilariously when I have a big board, I want a small one. When I have a small one, it's never enough. The cycle continues!
Great board!
YOU WOULD KNOW
That board is probably worth more than my car ha
I know dude... I did just take out an insurance policy. It is also worth more than my car haha.
Love the board bro! I really enjoyed your rundown. That BB sounds killer. Cheers
Thank you so much friend!
As with all things, our tone is only as good as our FOH guy. Cool that you can mix all different saturation levels independently. Patiently awaiting my CAPO, trying not to count the days.
Amen. At least with this setup... I can just hand the FOH guy the dirty signal and give him a little less control over my sound as a whole. But when you get a guy who wants to really spend time on your tone together.... they get the full treatment 😊
Turn the damn output down. WTH…
Why? I'm going XLR out into studio converters.
