I really like Kensou in 98 and 02 as well. Certain moves I miss him having, even his EX form in 02, but I agree his XIII iteration is very good, and my favorite in that game.
In terms of strength 99 was his best iteration, he was god tier in that one due to him having infinites and a infinite blockstring with cl.D dp.A looped.

It's wacky. Since the Steam version came out, SNK hasn't touched this game at all since, not even for a re-release on PS4 and XB1. It's really annoying to me that they haven't when they'll release practically every other game in their library.
Some players about a hour away from me just started picking KOF13 back up recently too. It's crazy. I love seeing this game come back. Might start playing fighting games again. It's been since... well, last gen, basically.
It wasn't originally fanservice. She dates back to a time when there were only a couple other female fighting game characters in existence (Chun Li and Janne from lesser known World Heroes), and her original sprite and voice acting was more androgynous. Her original game also featured lots of mid-match and post-match battle damage, so having her shirt explode if you did the right ending move was a pretty unique way to reveal SNK's first ever female fighter. Since then though, yeah, it's kind of fanservice now. She's much more feminine than she was originally, and they didn't keep the exploding shirt for Ryo, for example. Only the girls from Art of Fighting still have that.
As much as it is nice to see someone enjoying a game filled with heart and soul (unlike most fighting games today) it is also sad that no one cared about this game or the many other great Fighting Games with a lot of soul put into ONLY UNTIL THEY ARE DISCOUNTED AT $5.99 - $14.99 YEARS LATER DO THEY CARE!

Umm...did he play more than 1 game against that guy? The guy with the king-vice-mature team was as new as Max. It honestly only looked like he played against 1 guy for 1 round that actually had any experience.
After much synchronizing Max pulls off a top-tier "Happy Birthday combo" that swings him back into the groove of KOF13 and right beside those players that literally haven't stopped playing the game since it was first out.
Every time i see kof13 i wish kof 15 will be the same. I want those sprites back SNK! I get 3d is the way to go today (and its a little easier/cheaper) but man how cool it would be if they'd go back to this style/look/feel. The fans would love them for that...at least i would 😊
If you don't have the meter to cancel Shen's body-explosion super into his neomax, there's not much reason to do the body explosion super. You're better off just doing the neomax. Body explosion super is best either right before neomax in an HD combo (because it buffs the damage of the neomax) or when both characters have a good amount of life left (so Shen will benefit a lot from the reduced damage his opponent deals to him and the increased damage he deals to the opponent).

I am going to be that fan, Max said he preferred Kyo's Classic costume, but actually the white jacket is closest to the classical since is the one used since KoF 98, the classical one was last seen on 2003 playing against Kusanagi the special mid-boss, but last official appearance on Kyo as selectable regular character was 98. So, nevermind my rant. Lol.
The nooch in this game is movement based. So for those of you who play tekken and never touched kof. Imagine playing a 2d tekken with more traditional 2d archtypes. Everytime you get hit you have to wonder why you were standing at that specific position. I highly recommend watching the JDandy video and then watching some juice box tutorials.
Steam version is okay but just on the safe side be wired and hopefully you're opponent is to but I think most ppl that still play now are all wired there's a discord if you're looking for matches or help it's KOF XIII .
Don't expect to be blown away by the graphics though. They're a smaller company and this is the largest roster in mainstream fighting games. It's not realistic to expect better than merely "solid" graphics with touches of flair. They have a talented group of people, but not very many of them, so corners will have to be cut somewhere.
