I need big-swords to make Guts from Berserk 😅 thanks for these videos!! I'm playing with my gf and we're getting so much fun together. We learned a lot from your channel 😊
I like the Sinner Claymore (the legacy chest version of the Prayer Claymore) it has a unique enchantment called “Redemption” that adds a 20% boost to lightning dmg, and inflicts Doomed and Elemental vulnerability. It doesn’t have any lightning dmg on it, just 41 physical) but it’s great if you’re going for a Cabal hermit / Kazite Spellblade Lightning mage with melee kinda build. Obviously works best with the monsoon faction.
I personally like the tsar claymore more than the starchild claymore mainly because the tsar claymore allows you using weapon skills without worrying about durability. And you say in a lot of your top 5 videos that physical damage and impact is a little more useful than other things. By the way amazing video and you should make more like this one. I have also been subscribed to you for about 4 months and your content is just amazing. You deserve more subs than you already have.
Always appreciate some honorable mentions (Zagis Saw & Gep's Longblade), as well as some insight on how some Swords can edge out over others in certain builds. I personally love Masterpiece Claymore for the Swing Speed/Damage/Impact & Tsar Claymore for sheer damage if I just wanna hang back and use Perfect Strike during openings to get that Pain status then follow through with Moment of Truth for that sweet boss chunking BDD.
I agree, honorable mentions are a good idea. Sheen should keep doing them for the rest of weapon types 😁. Although might be too much work, he can also show off (video) examples with the builds he proposes (e.g. lightning build with starchild claymore with silver armor) just to give a taste of what it is like.
Especially when it comes to great swords they really specialize in a particular style of combat which I myself found out recently and kind of enjoy. Masterpiece Claymore just looks cool too.
Been loving your videos, new to Outward and was using greataxes, but me and my partner came across a monster we didn't recognise. We killed it, it dropped a claymore and I like the moveset so I came here to see which is the best. Turns out it was the one that dropped for me! :D Score!
Zagis's Saw trivializes certain bosses completely, stacking Pain + 3 DOT effects (although most bosses are immune to at least 1 between poison and burning) is pretty crazy. I understand it's not necessarily the best but it's kind of "free" DPS, kind of like when you mentioned Sanguine Cleaver in your video about Polearm weapons, although Sanguine is probably a bit better because of its innate Extreme Bleeding.
My ether knight character uses one claymore you didn't mention that you can get really early in the game. The Great Runic Blade what it lacks in impact it makes it by having the bigger base ether damage in the game. Paired with the mana infusion makes some battles ridiculous.
Star Child is definetly the best and a strong condendor for one of the best weapons in outward at all. It is a very forgiving weapon and I personally think that the bossfight to get it, is the best in the game. My favorite claymore is the prayer claymore. When I get it in a chest I often find myself runnig around with it for bit. I really like how it looks when you shoulder it. Great runic blade is also quite decent now
Ah yes the prayer claymore can be legacy chested into the sinner claymore I believe which looks fantastic. And ya Starchild feels like a very forgiving weapon that can stagger some enemies in single hit. Very fun to use.
@sheenshots what is the best general 2hander build as far as breakthroughs go? I’ve never done one but am a fan of 2 handed swords in souls likes and such. Part of me thinks cabal hermit breakthrough for the boons along with monk and maybe something that brings a ranged option like hexmage or maybe primal ritualist. I’m not sure tho. I’m also not sure about hunter Altho I know it’s good as well.
@sheenshots what are your thoughts on virgin weapons? I was thinking about making an Ice virgin claymore possibly. I just finished my holy mission faction quest and currently use The Tsar claymore and the Dreamers halberd. Greatswords are my favorite. I know I could also just get Geps long blade and use that eventually. I may wait on that one tho until it’s actually time for caldera. AOE ice claymore would be dope as well. Thanks!
All virgin weapons are B tier or just okay weapons at their peak. its not a fault of their design really just that you always have access to horror, porcelain special items, and tsar that overshadow for most specific builds. That being said, you can have a LOT of fun with them. Especially using the AOE enchants that only go on virgin weapons their an absurd amount of fun. I would recommend an ice AOE with enchanted virgin armor to boost ice as well. For mine I did it on knuckles but a longsword would do just fine.
@Nudedragon There is. Masterwork looses durability and percentage off damage with it. As well, it doesn't have as much dmg and impact. With Tzar you just keep swinging. What is critical in long boss fights Speedster skill tree is all about using skills instead of regular attacks, which just asking for Patience passive. As well, Speedster Probe skill eliminates problem with speed of Tzar weapons. Might just need armor for stamina.
Just tried build with tzar claymore, speedster, monk and blue chamber. The third skill tree isn't as important. But I picked hunter. Zero mana and master khazite set with assassin enchantment. +Patience and Brauns pasive skills. A heluva ton of physical damage. Perfect strike and speedster skill to apply Pain...dont forget its ton of dmg as well. +Blood infusion. Speedster probe sorta ignores weapon speed, lol
I know I'm late but I'm very curious to know where would you rank Runemage's ethereal greatblade if it was being included in your list? Would it even make top 5?
No it unfortunately would not be high at all. The problem with it and the smaller sword version is impact is king in Outward. And both have almost no impact on hits. Impact gives you control of combat while both those swords focus on pure ethereal damage instead. This means that in certain situations they are insane. Like against any golem enemy or ghost you two or three hit them. But for the overall game you typically run into a lot of problems when you can't stop enemies from attacking.
Masterpiece claymore can be enchanted with eatherwave for even more awesomeness for it's the Number 1 Claymore combined with Elite plate with Warmaster Hound mask and "Boots of speed" Prayer/sinner cleymore it's very nice Weapon with it unique enchantment
When I first saw the name of the video I thought the child star Claymore would be number one in my opinion no other Claymore compares to its practicality me and my wife I first got the star child Claymore after using basic weapons we booby trapped the royal manticore to death fell in love with the weapon and made sure to get it for both of our soldiers
Star child hits hard. Its really fast and deals loads of lightning damage. Going for physical damage works well in Outward, but often elemental is better because less things have resistance to it. Which makes starchild hit all that harder and honestly its the perfect scourge slaying weapon.
@sheenshots so I beat the holy mission and am now working on rust and vengeance. Just got my antique armor completely enchanted with economy, tsar claymore, vampiric claymore and more…..tell me why I wasn’t paying attention and walked near a ledge and glitched my game…..now my character is eternally sliding down with no way to move or do anything. Guess I have to wait until winter in the game and freeze to death or something 🤦🏾♂️. Actually I can’t even remove the armor and it’s strong to cold ……wow well this sux
Okay that is very odd. Not sure what spot that is but that's no good for sure. If you are on PC I recommend searching debug mode into the wiki. That has an unstick option you can use. On console however I have no clue if there is anything you can do at all.
@@SheenShots so I could have gotten free by holding the 4 shoulder buttons on my switch and going to an earlier save but I had no idea I could do that. Now all saves are stuck. It’s ok I guess I’ll use it as an experiment. Now I know more about certain skill trees and stuff like that. I feel like having warrior monk and wild hunter is too much to keep track of skill wise so in the future I’ll only use 1 or the other. Probably warrior monk for dmg and stamina. I also like 1 handers more than 2 handed builds despite how cool 2 handers look overall.
Starchild has some of the highest impact in the game for a weapon that still deals amazing damage. its also easy to buff and its long reach keeps you out of danger much better. Great weapon.
It's funny how you have made so many outward videos and you said you haven't messed around with the Masterpiece weapons..because there actually the best weapons in the entire game other then the Tsar..both the Masterpiece and Tsar do the most physical damg in the game..and are the only weapons I use on every play through.. excluding magic builds.. I hate magic..
I need big-swords to make Guts from Berserk 😅 thanks for these videos!! I'm playing with my gf and we're getting so much fun together. We learned a lot from your channel 😊
The tsar claymore should be right up your ally then! Glad you guys are having fun and I thank you for watching!
btw killing royal manticore takes about 30 trap to kill so you can take starchild claymore at the start of the game
Heck ya! get on it early and makes things super easy the rest of the game lol
I like the Sinner Claymore (the legacy chest version of the Prayer Claymore) it has a unique enchantment called “Redemption” that adds a 20% boost to lightning dmg, and inflicts Doomed and Elemental vulnerability. it does get 8.2 lightning damage from Redemption as well, makes it pretty insane.

@@RSVikingJohn I'd say a build for each weapon shown in the shown order wouldve been nice

Absolutely use that. Its an incredible weapon. Great job on the boss kill as well! The royal manticore can be pretty tough!
Very shocked you didn't show the sinner claymore with its unique enchantment
It is pretty amazing. Probably would have been a good idea.
8:15 That bandit got annihilated 😭

Starchild is legendary.
The absolute pinnacle of giant craftsmanship.
Great video, next should be top 5 one handed axes
Thank you! I am working on that one for sure.
Sounds like tzar claymore is great with Patience passive, especially with speedster. Give yourself even more of brutal damage!
It would become a weapon of true dominance that's for sure!
If you were going for patience you would want the masterwork. There's no point in investing halfway in your weapon skills
@Nudedragon There is. Masterwork looses durability and percentage off damage with it. As well, it doesn't have as much dmg and impact. With Tzar you just keep swinging. What is critical in long boss fights

Starchhild Claymore + Spirit of Monsoon + Sky Shimes = Aie Aie Aie !!! :)
This god tier power is almost past the level Elatt has!

My top 5 would be
5.Termal
4.Tsar
3.Vampire or Vigilante
2.Sinner
1.Starchild
Sinner is definitely one I would have liked to put on the list. Very fast and very good looking with a beautiful enchantment.
