- If you've been living under a rock, or don't keep up with pony related news like I do. Then it has come out that a potential sixth generation of my little pony was leaked recently…or at least the potential plans for it…and a roughly six minute animation pitch. But it has been mired in controversy, so I'm going to do my best to explain what exactly the MLP G6 leak is and what it could mean for the future of the franchise.

Not a fan of the fact they decided to mix the cast and reset their backstories, just keep the looks and general personalities (if even that) so that they can market it. Like he mentioned reusing designs happening before but the artstyle of G4 was so different from other gens, they don't look alike at all (at least the ponies, but the rest are villians that obviously isn't the main cast)
The word on the street is that this concept was canceled. Whatever G6 ends up being, this won't be it.

The thing that was cancelled is a different project that brought G1, G4 and G5 together is what I heard. It was called "Ponyverse", but this is something different called Camp Cutie Mark.
My main criticisms of this concept:
- summer camp forces them to work with only a limited time and opens up chances for time inconsistencies later on
- it sucks that 3/4 of them are G4 characters. I don't mind Misty; I like her. And I don't mind some of the G4 cast being there... But to make most of them that? Idk
That could be a plot Will we still be Friends after camp ends, I see that being the conflict as summer ends,
I'd love to have the othrs show p...if they do this like een if sunny was visiting as a princess or something. or from another timetravel thing.
Fair. I expected AJ to get cut because she is the last marketable, but I was shocked to not see Fluttershy. They mischaracterized Misty to make her the stand-in Fluttershy. I'm guessing Pipp is going to be our Rarity, and Sunny is our AJ.
Naur this generation will be a complete rage for those trying to make a timeline 💀 (Aside from like diff timelines or stuff)

I really think they missed a huge opportunity. If they had the cutie mark crusaders it wouldve been perfect. 3 different types of ponys, couldve rewritten skootaloo as dashes character and even have a part for diamond tiara
If they had the Cutie Mark Crusaders in some way, I need that. At least show up as adults with Cutie Marks or child cameo in this show. But Hasbro probably wants to sell the most profitable characters from previous generations.
Why would they use characters that aren’t going to bring them in the profits? These are the more popular ponies, and will be the ones to sell the most toys. Hasbro is a toy company after all, and with all the financial stuff they’re going thru, of course they’ll take what sells
right they can continue the story with so many ponies! We already watched the main 6's story they can move on now. I kind of wish they started over completely, but if they want to continue from g5, they have so many popular ponies we want to know more about. Flurry Heart, Trixie and Starlight Glimmer, Sunset Shimmer, Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon, Thorax, just to name a few.

MLP was always targeted to children, but G4 definitely did lean into the Brony demographic a lot. But yeah, I totally get what you mean.

Hey, remember how ten years ago there were leaks spiralling about what G5 would be like, and those used redesigns of the G4 characters, but those eventually got replaced with the new cast? It's quite possible that this reboot concept is only using the G4 and G5 characters as placeholders to figure out the general plot and design direction before making the actual new cast.
I hope so. I hope they don't reuse old character and make new ones but will be better than g5

It's not the same. Everything about them was different. G4 was something new, even though they reused old names. This ain't new.
Yeah Gen 4 feels like they buffed out the problems in Gen 3. As someone who grew up with Gen 3 and went back to rewatch the movie I watched repetitively as a kid, gen 3 feels like they tried too hard to make every pony the main character in their own way. Gen 4 just managed to be a hit, it focused on only a certain group of characters instead of focusing on multiple different characters but it still came off as a simple kids show, but perhaps because of it’s popularity amongst adult fans it managed to become a massive hit.
MLP has always been about taking characters from the line and recreating them. (Gen 4 Rarity is Gen 3 Rainbow Dash, Gen4 Pinkie Pie is Gen3 Rarity as well as a mix between her gen 3 self too) Hell Twilight Sparkle is based off of Twinkle Twirl in Gen 3 who also had a part in a movie. Applejack has existed as a character since Gen 1 as well as Fluttershy (but Fluttershy had a rename of sorts, her original skin/model is Posey).
Idk what came over me but tbh it ultimately is a show that only spawned as a tie in with the toys, but because of Gen 4’s popularity it definitely feels like Hasbro is trying their hardest to make another hit like it and is focusing on MLP being a show/movie series with a toy line. While Gen 3 was a mess looking back at it (as well as other 2000’s and earlier era) I still miss how goofy the tie in movies were because it was cool getting a movie with your toy and you could watch it and point at your character in the movie. I was always jealous my sister got Star dancer, I think I either had Sky wishes or Twinkle Twirl, I think it was Twinkle Twirl because I can sort of remember her having a bit of orange in her mane lol.
Sorry for the long reply, just trying to put into words also how a lot of fans forget how Gen 4 was a shot of pure luck with how popular it became, that the earlier generations were probably also just as much of a flop in terms of popularity as Gen 5 ended up becoming.
@@sylvain4298 If Hasbro tried to make something *like* G4, they'd create something new. Recycling names and character designs is fine, but it can't be a 1-to-1 reboot.

is it just me that doesnt like this mix of g4 and g5? its odd seeing characters that were meant to take place thousands of years after the other half died, and its unicorn twilight? dont get me wrong, i really really like this idea of camp cutie mark and i think a good idea would be the grown up cutiemark crusaders as the owners or the past owners and they’re deceased if its years later. i feel like the mane 6 should be new and different characters, like what if we had a shy bookworm or something a bit mixed up?
Exactly. My biggest issue is it disregards the history of both shows.., are we supposed to forget Twilight got her cutiemark by hatching spike, or Pinkie pie seeing the rainboom, Fluttershy falling off the cloud, etc. None of them had these personalities either before getting their cutiemark..well maybe a select few but the lore knows.
Maybe if they acted like their previous counterparts and had the same growth stories..? I hate this mainly because it

Personally I guess I just have a different frame of mind about it. Doesn't bother me one bit, and is honestly kind of exciting to see Misty with the other three even if they aren't exactly the same characters. Now _that_ would've been even more exciting, a full crossover from the main canon G4 and G5 universes... Hopefully in the comics or something lol
yeah. all these characters already had their cutie marks, it doesn't make much sense to me. plus i for one really prefer alicorn twilight over unicorn twilight. idk why i just do

The bully antagonist feels kinda generic, tbh. They made sure to give her a blonde mane to make it real obvious that this is the "mean girl" character. G4 was smarter about that sort of thing (Diamond Tiara has a much more memorable design and name).
I wonder if "Desiree Goldenhoof" would have her design fleshed out if this actually went beyond the pitch pilot we're seeing here.

my little pony has always been like a guilty pleasure to me because i looooved the show as a little girl and it just kinda stuck with me and this channel has made me accept it, so yeah love your videos :D
Camp cutie mark could actually make a good game. The camp layout would make a good “overworld” and there could be a bunch of mini games that you could play as either an earth pony, Pegasus, or unicorn to do different games.
The whole thing does feel like the opening to a kids adventure game tbh

But even playing the same level but you can’t reach areas until you play it again as one of the other ponies (something in the air only a Pegasus could get, maybe kicking down some crates only an earth pony could do, and a spell only a unicorn could do)

Having G4 and G5 characters interact is... Fine. But only if the G4 characters are the age they should be. Twilight being reset to a unicorn with no friends, and making friends with Misty, is weird. I don't like it. I know across generations that characters get reset but they usually also get reskinned a little bit so they're more distinct. G6 versions of the characters are consistent with the look and personality of G4 and G5 which I don't like.
I'm with you there. I mean, G4 reset Pinkie Pie from G3 but the art style was very different and so was her personality. This feels more like a strange crossover between G4 and G5 than a new show.
It’s also just really confusing. Like what parts of the lore are staying the same and which parts are changing? It just seems like a very weird au where it’s a completely different world with different lore that just has g4 and g5 ponies pasted in without any changes or explanation. It feels like a child’s crossover fanfic.
I wouldn't mind them reusing the same character if they did it like with previous generations. Redesign them, and make a complete overhaul so they would feel similar, but could work as a complete alternative version of the character. It could work if it was done like that. But keeping it close to Gen 4 and 5 will likely be the show's downfall. And...they really need to hire competent writers if they want the next show to succeed because the writing in Gen 5 was its biggest weakness and likely the reason it ultimately failed.
yeah i was so confused while watching this like "wait but twilight already has her cutie mark why is she here? and everyone seems to be adults, i thought ponies usually got their cutie marks when they were younger? and wait, is twilight missing her wings? wait, she doesn't have friends? what?"
The artstyle is so precious. One thing that made me feel weird though was the inclusion of their parents. It makes them seem way younger and less independent.

It’s a pitch. They probably don’t want to pay a massively popular voice actor to just do a pitch.
Why not focus on other ponies? The producers already finished with Twilight and friends, why not flurry heart? Or Luster Dawn?
I really like the concept but I think a school setting would make more sense then a camp. You can still have the message of finding yourself and who you wanna be but I feel there’s more story lines they can play with. We already got the mean girl, they could do a big dance episode, or the big game, maybe deal with a rival school in a competition. They could have different types of relationship drama whether platonic, romantic, or familial. Like maybe character A has a family that doesn’t expect there interest yet, or an episode where character B learns popularity isnt everything. That and adult and kids alike love magic school storylines. Not to mention all the toy possibilities. A school play set, merponies for a summer set, glitter ponies with crowns and tinsel hair for a prom line. Possibilities are quite endless.
This is great, they may not stick with the camp concept. Time will tell.
I definitely want them to bring in other types of ponies to this idea of a Cutie Mark Camp, now that I think about it when you mentioned Mer/Seapoinies and Glitter Ponies. Just regular ponies is a little boring after having so many other creatures in the show. What if even more types of ponies came to try and find their Cutie Marks?
And I find that the camp idea is probably taking from the CMCs in G4 and I personally can't really argue with how good of an idea it is in-universe to have a camp set up for ponies to earn their Cutie Marks. They could do more if it was a school but I'm also not sure how long they're planning to make this. It might not even be about the modernish campyness as much as it'll be about adventuring elsewhere.
In terms of relationship drama, I do like it in some shows but the wide range of MLP fans probably would rather not have things being _too_ dramatic if you know what I mean. But I like your ideas still !

While G6 does have both Twilight, Rainbow Dash and Misty in G6, I'm still hoping for more G5 of Make your Mark, and speaking of G5 Make your Mark, there is a petition for another chapter of Make your Mark
What Hasbro might not have realized is that the reason G5 has failed so badly is 2-fold. First, they tried to tie it to G4 and the lore, whilst they were apparently sharing the rights to G4 with Discovery Media. Secondly, they failed to plan out the story arc very far, and rushed it when they needed to wrap it up. As you can imagine, the pacing was all over the place, and the lore was a mess...
Hopefully, whatever comes next is a proper soft-reboot, and these characters are technically not the same ones we had before... Even if they have the same personalities, they can have a totally different backstory and lore, and it should work!

I'm glad it got canceled, because it was a mess. I feel like making a new g6 would be much better, since they could actually do things right this time, and not mess with the lore of the previous generation.

@@ego-lay_atman-bayI actually liked how they were using g4 lore. It’s how they went about it, that was the problem. They would bring it up, but then go in a totally different direction, almost forgetting about the g4 timeline. You would get bits and pieces of it here and there, but it just dragged on. I think the Make Your Mark movies should have wrapped up that story, much better than they did, and they could have just went on with something else in the TH-cam shorts.
It actually intrigued me about what happened to Twilight and the others, after she became ruler. They could have done more with Opaline, and how she actually played a part in the G4 lore. Not the mediocre story we got

What I like about G5 is that they made an entirely new set of original characters. If this concept was real, it would've been exciting to see at least one new original character to make them five (or seven assuming Sunny and Pipp were kept from the original selection).
I'm waiting for official hasbro sstatement, it's so easy to edit and make things look official.
im really upset that twilight has new friends/a new group. it doesnt feel right. and mistys the new fluttershy? probably because fluttershy was (at least I think she was) one of is not her best friends out of the group.

Ponyverse could have been amazing if it was like the Spiderverse from the recent animated Spiderman films - where as G4 was fantasy themed, a Ponyverse could have been sci-fi themed with characters jumping between worlds to fight save-the-world battles.
Camp Cutie Mark sounds bad, because it limits the plots to low-stakes friendship issues. Many of the best G4 episodes were save-the-world battles, and unless it's some sort of spy-training-camp, that ain't going to happen.
That's more of a personal reason, but I respect it regardless.
Um, you do realize most of G4’s episodes didn’t have the characters trying to save the world and instead doing more low stake stuff, right? I do agree that stuff like the premiers and finales often have some of the best episodes, due to their fantastical natures most of the time, but for the most part, G4 was a show about characters doing normal things, like going camping, hanging out with family, reuniting with old friends, going to fun events, ect. The fantasy element was just a bonus that really supported the bigger elements of the story, world, and elements.

I have to be honest I’m very very wary of this. It’s so easy to tell Lauren Fausts beautiful character design from the other characters even when they’re all rendered in an admittedly extremely nice artstyle. This is extremely nit picky but I also hate how they called their flank their “back leg”, i think they missed an opportunity to introduce vocabulary words to kids.
I like the Camp Cutiemark concept. But I wish they would use new characters or chamge the design & personality of the old characters more.
Funny I didn't see a single g1-g3 pony in the pony verse stuff. Windwhistler and Fizzy deserve better
i love mlp so much and have missed g4, while g5 has also grown on me. i really hope that they continue with something similar to camp cutie mark or ponyverse, really anything at all would be wonderful. i would be so incredibly happy for a "g6", a new pony show for fun memories and something to look forward to, as well as the posibility for better merch. i truly hope that hasbro does something fun and keeps brainstorming some good ideas for the community. ♡ i am excited to see what happens next!
I think the leaks have a very cute artstyle compared to last gen. I kind of wish Hasbro would redesign the main cast slightly. No need to give them a complete overhaul, but for example Pinkie Pie from G3 and G4 designs are the pretty much the same on paper, but are much more distinct from one another in their looks in practice due to shape and minor hue changes. I suppose it's just kind of confusing to see them look so similiar to previous gen versions, which makes it look a lot more like fanart.
I agree totally! And I was thinking of this before. They should redesign the characters a little more, not too much so that they won't be appealing for a random kid who kinda knows the characters from G4 and G5 and might buy some of the toys but wouldn't care for them if they were different or something, but different enough to be, honestly, new for the fans. Maybe they could actually be _much more_ different instead of barely different for other reasons. Especially if the character personalities are different from the previous gens.
I don't like that they're throwing away so much of MLP gens tradition after G4 blew up in popularity. G4 took SO MUCH inspiration from the previous gens and it's always been a tradition to have similar things that reference each other, generation from generation on but for them to still be different in many ways*-... However with G5 being actually in the same universe as G4 and G6 here seeming to be much more based on the previous two gens, it seems like the tradition is being forgotten...
-*They could take old characters like Sunny Daze and Minty and redesign them, give them new or kinda similar personalities to be main characters of a new gen, but not exclusively bring back characters who _have_ been main characters in the past two gens - In fact, I don't think that they should refresh characters like Twilight and Pinkie Pie for a long, long time since they have soo much cultural significance as G4 Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle. If they had a new Pinkie Pie who was any different from the fun-loving crazy always on sugar party pony that is in G4, I'm not sure how well she'll be received.
The thing about this demo pilot is that it seems to imply that these characters aren't exactly as different from their previous iterations as much as G3 and G4 Pinkie Pie was, personality-wise is obvious but that in general they basically feel like,,, alternate universe versions of the G4 and G5 ponies we already know.
Désirée feels very flat, I am tired of the mean girl blonde stereotypes.. this show is definitely aimed towards a younger audience, which is a little dissapointing :/
I thought Pony Life was G4.5?
It should be, but 4.5 works well with this being G4 and G5 -related together... Although I heard a rumor that should be taken with salt that a beta-name for the gen of this could be G4.1 (I don't like that name but at least it allows G4.5 to be Pony Life still)

I did see EqD report that Hasbro released some insight into the future of the brand in one of their licensing booklets: Apparently right now they're playing it safe and banking on nostalgia for the next year or so, focusing on G4's sudden resurgence in popularity in the Chinese market for whatever reason, and doing a lot of rereleases of G1 toys for the collectors market, and promising a 'complete brand evolution', whatever that might mean. No news about new shows, and the G5 comics are over as well, but it seems that Hasbro are still working on making sure the brand stays alive one way or another.
What about the fact that Hasbro is a greedy and incompetent company which doesn't care so much about their IPs' dignity? It seems like they really don't know what to do with MLP. And this leak is also weird. I tell you: there are better companies to support. Screw Hasbro!

It sounds a lot more like a video game the way Twilight talk to the audiences and asked us to join in kinda like a old adventure game with how it went

I actually love these storyboards so much. The mix of our favourite ponies, the fun and laughter; the camp seems so fun and the storyboard animation so far is SUCH a nice style too, I’m in love with it!
Bringing back old characters isn't bad -- but I think the fact that they're just the exact same is the issue. In most gens they get changed in some way or another, and the idea is changed/separate from the previous gen.
I hope we do get more, and I don't mind them honestly being brought back... I just love new characters and new ideas, I feel like they're clinging to G4's characters too much.

i think it would be best for just a whole new g6 with g4 characters redesigned like how g1 twilight had white hair, so its fresh and new but familiar in a way, in my opinion at least
On the other news.....It seems G5 is ending in October. So this might get an official announcement from Hasbro soon
The Camp Cutiemark concept feels a lot like Marvel's What if...?, an official fanfiction or alternate universe where previous generations get remixed, and... I think I like it? The dialogue is total brainrot, but the designs are really pretty. I especially love how every character got uniquely shaped sparkles in their eyes

Ok, so the movie was good, that trailer thing is sort of sweet. MLP rarely seems to have in group rivals.
But, also, I don't think any of the main ponies are near different enough from the last series. You know G3 pinkie pie was serious, and loved pink. And rainbow dash was a fashionista who loved rainbows. Spine was a wide old dragon who lived under ponyville.
G3 and G4 characters were remade, and they were remade so well that they were extremely different from the past generation. They ARE NOT doing that in this "camp cutie mark" short.
I'm not trying to tell them its bad or to stop making it. But I don't think it should be a big thing, because, it's not exactly on brand. It feels like they're remaking friendship is magic with a smaller cast.
I mean, are they going to change the main characters cutie marks? If they did, I probably wouldn't mind. Imagine a twilight that doesn't like magic! That would be amazing.
But so far, Rainbow dash wants to be fastest, twilight is bad at making friend (yeah duh, she's princess of friendship. Are they going to take it away?). Pinkie pie is still vibrant and bubbly and parties. And you said yourself misty seems the same. So, they don't seem any different.
If they wanted to do a cross over, just do a few episodes as a cross over! You can be selective with the cast, easy. Why don't they just go with that.
The fact that they're not leaving us with anything while they work on something else is disappointing. Like, the least they could do is an episode of tell your tail per month, or something. A hand ful of episodes then nothing til 2026 is bogus. Shows a lack of planning a forethought. And then they suffered from leaks.
The future of mlp looks really unstable. I can watch that when it's done. If I don't need new mlp content in my life now, will I need new mlp stuff in the future? Maybe if they actually finish something, then I might go watch. But for now, it feels like they really need to earn it. And these leaks have done nothing in getting them there. It probably hurt more than helped.
I mean, the whole cast looks the exact same as their past counterparts. If they didn't call it G4.1 they'd have to call themselves out for copying G4.
I do wish they wouldn't make the princess of friendship go on another journey to become the new princess / leader of magic. Doesn't Twilight deserve to step into the background for a while. She's a legend of MLP. Let her basic in that light for 10 years, then bring her back. Watch the hype soar.
I wish it was like Pretty Rhythm, where their main character from series 1 became a legend and was still seen and talked about in season 3. They had statues of her on their best stages. Like, whoa. And if they brought her back after that, I'd be down. But they let the world mature without her first.
G5 was all about Twilight. It was a carry on. If that was planned well, it could have been amazing. But it wasn't. (I suppose they don't have the trademark for princess twilight anymore? Maybe that us why it is like it is with the cast. But that's a sad reason imo. Rebuild it better or don't touch it at all)
Why can't they build their series up? Why haven't they already? And why was the best they could think of, bloody "camp cutie mark"
MLP has always been about defeating darkness. Except for the unbeloved G2 which was the equivalent of Glee Club and aged horribly (an understatement). The most popular of MLP WAS friendship of magic, fighting villains. G3 made friends with all different races. G1 fought to survive from the bad things in the forest while the ponies had fun, setting up stakes for the episodes villains.
So, why do they think MLP should stop making new friends and fighting bad guys. A bully isn't a bad guy. Unless it's an evil bad guy, like Starlight. A beloved character who was redeemed.
You know what they could have done. Started with the pink blonde pony as the main and had her reform from being a bully only to become a princess for the greater good? Hey, I'd take that. It took me 0 seconds to come up with and it would beat a generic camp scenario.
It just feels like they're playing it too safe. I hate that. MLP deserves better. If G6 isn't better, I say let it rest for a while. The right hands can come. Have this camp cutie mark fanfic while we wait. But if they don't give it a shit run like G5 then I think it's fair to hold that against them.

I’m a younger fan of MLP, but if you look at the “Leak” in G4 all Teen/Adult ponies have cutie marks and all the characters in this leak don’t, and none of them are fillies. The Cutie Mark Crusaders spent how many seasons finding theirs?? And the camp leader didn’t even have a cutie mark. I dislike G6 strongly and think they should of just continued G4. So many parts of this makes no sense. Three ponies from G4 and randomly shove in a G6 Pony?? I would of tolerated it if it kept all the Mane Six but this just makes me mad honestly, and since when did earth ponies have magic? I think it’s cool yes but also once again in G4 there was episodes devoted to earth ponies having no magic and Pegasus being able to fly or unicorns having unicorn magic etc. sure pinkie has chaos magic canon in the show but you know.
Earth pony magic was introduced in G5, and the common theory is that their cutie marks are only on one side like in G5
I don't really think they should continue G5. At least not with Mane 6 as the main character. The show had a satisfying conclusion and in my opinion, it can stay as it is. They should hire competent writers and animators and either come up with a new cast of characters, or remix already existing characters to the point they could stand separate from their previous counterparts (How they did with the G4 cast from earlier generations).
I can't believe this ridiculous claims of G6 mlp being previewed already . G5 mlp hasn't had time to expand this new Equestria , as Pipp and Zipp sang in Mym “It takes time to grow for you to learn all on your own…” so let it grow for hooveness sake Hasbro😡!
Ik G6 isn't gonna release till 2026 or something, I'm just sad Hasbro's just giving up on G5's story. All G6 is doing is just adding ponies from all the generations into it and calling it G6, that just sounds lazy and as we all know crossovers usually never turn out well😤.
If they are going to end G5, then end it in a way G4 would do theirs, it's the least Hasbro can do for G5🫡.
Whatever happens, I really just want Hasbro to get people on board who have fresh ideas (AND fresh takes on existing ideas, or pieces of ideas), AND either are interested in or involved with the franchise in some way (or were) OR would enjoy working on the franchise, AND have an understanding about what it was in terms of design, planning, and execution that helped make FiM do so well (and, I'd argue, made Tell Your Tale fun to watch ... when I wasn't getting irritated over them using Posey as a punching bag, at least).
Get those people involved, let them get the right people alongside them who understand all this, and leave them alone (as in, keep the corporate meddling bullfuckery to an absolute minimum), and I would say the likelihood of a show that does well increases.

I’m also surprised they didn’t go for a balanced mix of g4 and g5 characters.
I think it would be best for the next show to stick with G4/FiM's time period and artstyle (and most importantly, continuity), but focus on an entirely new cast of characters that can sometimes crossover with the original G4 mane six. G4 was their most popular era, so I don't see why they're trying to move away from it in terms of continuity and artstyle. Just introduce new main characters and perhaps some new settings so it's different enough to be it's own distinct show. I'm not a brony, but as a fan of animation MLP has always been within my peripheral. So this is coming from the perspective of a non-fan with enough knowledge of the franchise to comment on it. I think revisiting G4 with a new cast of characters and a new setting is the way to go. Maybe stick to a different part of Equestria that wasn't explored as much as Ponyville.

I will very much judge this based on what they've shown cause of hasbro continuing to mess up most stuff they own. Be it MLP or Wizards of the Coast going : you know how we've had D&D 5e be an open license? Well now it's not! Oh crap they're all mad.... BACKPEDAL! Or my personal favorite, them sending the pinkertons after people for having an MTG card that they didn't mean to release yet.
I just want a good show, or a proper continuation of the g4 universe that doesn't butcher the lore like G5 did. Like c'mon, it's not that hard. Make it for Y7 so you can do more story wise, have cooler villain fight scenes, and also make Twilight not just a recolor of Celestia by giving her a unique facial structure like they did Cadence and Luna.
I like Camp Cutie Mark, but it still feels weird to bring old main characters back as main characters again. I would prefer new characters or underused background characters, but hey I'd still watch it!

I know it's just an animatic concept (barely that), but I really don't like how they basically have Sunni voice Twilight Sparkle. She sounds like she could barely rub two brain cells together.
I truly hope no one is stupid enough to go with such an on the nose and vain concepts such as making it from E for Everyone to T for Toddlers. Any G6 should completely abandon any timeline connection from G5 and G4 because the pandering in G5 was horrific. G4 pandered to previous G's the right way by not being on the freaking nose about it and changing things up if needed.
They should do completely new characters a different setting/world. I mean G4 has made alternate worlds/realities/timelines a thing, so it really is not that difficult to accomplish to just ignore previous G's setting/situations/history.

You completely fail to understand that unlike the generations before G5, each generation that brought back a previous character were just alternative versions of the previous characters, G5 meanwhile brought in the exact same versions of The Mane Six from G4. The fact that they made Equestria fall literally immediately after The Last Problem makes everything they fought for completely worthless. If Equestria fell after their time, it would be far more understandable. But Hasbro just couldn’t bear not pandering to fans of G4. They should’ve either made an alternate universe with The Mane Six like they originally planned, or just created an entirely new universe, that way it wouldn’t effect G4 at all. It’s not like you can’t bring back old characters and handle it well, but the fact that Hasbro brought back G4 characters, just to undermine what they did, all to make their new cast look better by defeating a villain who’s easily the most pathetic villain in MLP history, and yet somehow managed to ruin Twilight’s reign makes G5 a straight up insult to G4 and anyone who cared about it.

i just wish they kept releasing G4 pony toys, i need to collect them and want to customise them, too. unrelated to MLP but also LPS. i adored those things as a kid and again would love to transform them into characters or have different patterns. (this also applies to figurine dolls like monster high ones etc) because usually buying these end up so expensive if ones are discontinued.

I just think it would be better if they created new characters or characters from g1, 2, or 3. Or background characters from g4. It’s just the fact they directly took the designs that makes it not look promising to me. The rest of it looks fantastic and could have so many different routes it could go. So overall I’m excited!
