    I have been getting P401 and P2002 and have sent it to VW service for the fourth time in as many months. This TDI is under warranty. They have replaced two DPF's and one EGR Cooler. The same codes just came back after 200 miles. Its back at the dealer again!

      Hey I’m having the same issues. 13 Jetta tdi. I replaced the pipe from dpf filter to egr cooler and that worked for a couple of weeks. I finally bought some dpf cleaner and pulled an o2 sensor on top of the dpf filter and filled it full and then drove in 5th gear for 12 miles when it did a regen and so far no check engine light for the last 370 miles. The car has 207K on it. Just curious what have you found out.

    I just replaced a 2012 engine and had dpf code and Nox sensor code. I know it had a newer dpf so I knew it was good. After doing some research I take it out on the freeway put it in manual mode and drove it at 2500 rpms in 5th gear for about 20 minutes. That took care of it. Hope that helps someone else. I believe it is a forced regin.

      th-cam.com/video/Er2gyoaBH2M/w-d-xo.html this video is how to clean your particulate filter then do a regen. Fixed mine permanently. seems to work great now over 3000 miles.

    Question for the DPF I have seen on TH-cam some folk use DPF flush cleaner. I actually bought that on Amazon plug of the hole and O2 sensor remove, than pour that flush liquid backwards and place upside down and let sit for over 24 hours. I was amazed how filthy the Particular filter was and how much black particle come out!!!! I end up going to the car wash and pressure wash it in backwards direction until I got nothing but clean water. I’m in the process to putting back and see if that removes my P1A58!

    I fixed mine with only doing a regen and then after the regen adapting g450. G450 should only be adapted after doing a regen. Either regen while driving or Regen while standing. Done through VCDS.....under Basic settings. you also need to do a security access before and make sure the codes are reset. REset codes turn engine off then back on go to security access (16) then put the code in press do it. then go to basic settings do the regen while standing. follow the prompts brakes then floor throttle. Regen will start. After that turn key off then back on and do the G450 procedure. to adapt g450.

    I have a 2006 TDI Diesel Jetta with a code of P0404 - EGR - a control circuit range performance. It starts and black smoke comes out and then stalls immediately. Happened very suddenly. I am having trouble finding a diagram or video with the location of the EGR valve. Any help would be appreciated. ! Thanks!

    The TDI has two EGR's correct? On the front of the intake and this one in rear?
    This code are for the rear correct? (I cleaned the front one so I think they must be)
    001025 - EGR System
    P0401 - 001 - Insufficient Flow - Intermittent

    • @mikesrandomvideos
      @mikesrandomvideos  ปีที่แล้ว

      most problems are on the rear. and that filter. or the intake getting plugged up. Or the cooler getting full of carbon.

    Just got both those codes yesterday 😔 … thank you for the info and detail. Hopefully I can tackle this myself. What’s your stance on deleting? I dont have smog in my area. for the price to fix this if it is the dpf/egr issue , delete is cheaper. I have it going into the shop next week for timing belt replacement so this kind of came at a unfortunate time lol

    • @mikesrandomvideos
      @mikesrandomvideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      might be OK....check EGR filter goes between the Exhaust and the Rear EGR. Then do a regen while standing. Might take care of it. should be able to blow through it pretty easily. usually it is pretty fixable. if it cost more than delete then maybe go that direction.

    Lets say, hypothetically, you have acquired a car that had the dpf and egr delete kit from rawtek installed already with the stage 2 malone tune.. then this code p0401 pops up.. tuner says the code has been tuned out but it still shows up.. car feels sluggish..any idea why this is happening?

    • @mikesrandomvideos
      @mikesrandomvideos  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tune must not have included EGR delete. May need to have tuned forced Readiness. Check Stevenson tuning. They are in Europe. so they can tune anything out. Hypothetically assuming its for racing.

    • @mikesrandomvideos
      @mikesrandomvideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      usually it is one of the items that was replaced. Try doing regen while standing. Using ross tech. may clear code. Clear code. do regen while standing and drive it for a while. If not check EGR filter. usually that first.

    Hey man.. garage says my egr cooler has corroded and leaking.. they want to charge me for full genuine egr and cooler, I’ve found just the cooler second hand nice and cheap which I’ve picked up. I take it from your video that it’s perfectly readable to just change over the cooler, keeping old egr? Would I need any new gaskets to go with it? Hopefully you know so I can pick some up before I turn up to the garage with a random cooler, when all they want to do it swap old for new. Cheers!

    • @mikesrandomvideos
      @mikesrandomvideos  ปีที่แล้ว

      Check wires between. Test with VCDS for actual movement of the valves. Use VCDS to do a EGR test it will open and close the valves while standing. engine not running verify they are working. Look at the wiring harness near the fans make sure it is not worn through. Probably harness or connector loose or not getting continuity. Also do a Differential pressure Adaption and reset them. All done through VCDS.

    • @mikesrandomvideos
      @mikesrandomvideos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you clean the EGR filter. it connects between the exhaust tube and the lower egr valve....remember there are 2 egrs. upper and lower. lower egr tube is usually the problem. but you could have a restricted DPF.....do a regen while standing. Lots of testing to do. If you remove it you should be able to blow through it with no resistance. Cleans up with oven cleaner walmart yellow can. If you have a CBEA......DID you replace the Oil pump???? critical engine fail on that year only.

    Can I just delete this crap?

    • @mikesrandomvideos
      @mikesrandomvideos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      its illegal but if your "racing" ha ha you can. But I will tell you it is not cheap to do so. they make pipes for removing the front egr and a straight pipe for the exhaust. then you need to get a delete tune. Stevenson tuning does them with forced readiness. So if for instance hypothetically someone wanted to keep their EGR valves on there and wallow out their particulate filter and Catalytic converter. they would look like they are working but no engine light and if someone serviced it at the dealer there would be no trace that it was deleted. That is called Forced Readiness. its over 1000 for the tune alone. in all honesty it is easier to fix it. Put a post on the TDI club forum someone will help you.
