Hey Josh I first want to say I throughly enjoy your channel and love your content as it applies to VAG TDIs and specifically for CJA motors.. ok I have ‘13 CJAA sprortwagen with 102,750 mi (that’s relatively low mileage for 11 yrs) I have following DTCs: p2002, p401 and p299 .. I also have had my car initiate limp mode many times while I was driving it on a trip .. I cycled the ignition on/off to clear it .. just to get it home.. I’ve checked the vac pump, the N75 solenoid and the vac diaphragm and actuator on the turbo and all is working fine.. I did the quick test and yeah I have soot in the tailpipe and residue on the hatch.. I’m thinking I will put it up on the quick jacks and remove the EGR filter and cooler give them a cleaning and see if I can get boost back.. but I do fear that my DPF is cracked , not sure how that could have happened.. low mileage and this car went through the Dieselgate mods at a dealership.. Would like to know your opinion is it clogged EGR system from failed DPF? Boy I really don’t want to replace that and I live where emissions are checked so I can’t really do a delete .. my biggest concerns are getting the DPF out as you showed I’m a video .. although I have about 3 feet of room with the car on my quickjacks and with dropping the subframe about 1/2” do you think I can get it out? Do you think by cleaning the EGR pipes and both valves and filter .. I already cleaned the intake / ASV EGR and it wasn’t too dirty.. I don’t want to spend $1500 US dollars on new DPF and find out turbo is bad.. and I really don’t want to pull the turbo.. do you think low boost is the result of plugged EGR filter? Thanks .. sorry for long message but you have the best TDI content on here

The dpf cracks from frequent regens (frequent temperature swings) which all comes down to driving style. Its definitely do able as I just used regular stands all the way up. The cracked dpf should result in free flowing exhaust so I don’t think it’s relevant to your p0299, I would double check for boost leaks if it’s building some boost.
As far as the p2002 and p0401 you can clean the egr filter but it’ll clog again because of the p2002, the options are quite limited I’m afraid

@@JoshsJettas thank you sir.. yeah the low boost i fixed it was an isolated incident from the low threshold and insufficient flow CELs I had cracked intercooler which I fixed .. thanks for your advice.. yep my DPF is cracked .. so cleaning it is pointless and cleaning EGR and EGR filter will only be a temporary fix .. but will driving it hurt anything? I assume it’s no different driving this as is than with a deleted DPF.. ii just am concerned about excessive soot in the intake manifold

I don’t think you’ll have an issue for awhile, I’ve done timing belts on a couple cars with those codes and they just kept driving
