so I have a question. When changing the battery on the fob for my 2007 honda pilot, I unkowningly knocked the transponder chip out and lost it. Can this process still work if I have have functional key with the blade and no transponder? The engine will crank but not turn over. Thanks!

No. You effectively have lost all keys. That chip has the digital fingerprint the vehicle computer needs to see in order to let the engine start. You'll need help from a locksmith or dealership to make a new key. We have a couple partnerships that can help you. tomskey.com/pages/lost-all-your-keys
