@@halo2redvsblue No problem! The price has been dropping lately and hopefully you can get one soon! I saved for 2 years after it was originally announced and I never expected it to be as much as it was but I have no regrets.
I love this review of the Duo. Finally, someone who took the time to use the device and test out the features as opposed to dismissing it right away in favour of the Z Fold 2. Great review and thanks for answering viewer questions!
I wish other “tech reviewers” dedicate this much time and insight into a product feature. This video is simple, sensible and relatable. No pretentious “expert” blah. Thank you for making very high quality and useful youtube content.
Really enjoyed this different format where you answered questions and demonstrated specific use cases, rather than talking straight up about your experience.
11:46 You don't need a screen outside because you can have the Surface Duo opened all the time to have both screens outside. It is a common mistake. You don't need to have it closed on your pocket.
Thank you for your open minded and real world review. You are given people well needed knowledge about the Duo. I can only hope other reviews follow your example. Ty
Came for the phone review, stayed for the pocket test! Thank You. Please include the pocket test for EVERY phone review or any review for that matter. Please and Thank you!!! Liked and subscribed!
Might consider getting one for the wife. Her work is always on the go. If they show it can replace a laptop it might be a great option. We have a WiFi printer so a small device would be great. As Jenna stated it does need a screen or maybe a BT band or watch to inform you of mail or calls as. WiFi calling is huge now v
the purpose of the duo is to not have anything on the front...shut it and forget it - is what they were going for. I think its genus for the person who wants to do productivity on the go back in a smaller tablet and phone .
And if you are a notification addict you don't need a screen outside because you can have the Surface Duo opened all the time to have both screens outside. It is a common mistake. You don't need to have it closed on your pocket.
My hopeful predictions: Bit taller screens, lower latency pen, better camera sensor/software, two better speakers, SD875, at least 8GB ram, slightly bigger battery, same overall dimensions. I don't even care about 90HZ screen, give me all the above and you have yourself one more happy Microsoft Fanboy 😍
And that device will also be a life changer for literally every category, anyone who enjoys vlogging(with all the angels you can put the device in), tik tok, video chat, gaming, Flexing lol... And also... Not a mandatory feature, but wireless charging wouldn't hurt either .
I mentioned "taller displays" for two reason... 1. Apps like instagram look a bit weird on wider screens. So getting a bit closer to 16:9 would be better. 2. Watching movies. Beacause there's no way I'm gonna watch my movies on the double screen view. #uninterruptedviewforlife
One last thing, i think this form factor has the potential to dominate the fragile foldables, i honestly would even prefer this device over a gorilla glass protected crease free foldable (if that ever becomes a reality !)
Thanks for this, Jenna! I watched yours after the one by MKBHD, and I feel like you did a more thorough review, since you actually demonstrated certain functionalities/capabilities of the device that Marques did not, e.g.: it being compatible with the Surface Pen as well as the XBox controller, which improve the Surface Duo's overall value proposition. I'm no longer a student, but I could easily see a situation in which a student opens up XBox Gaming before bed after writing down some notes in OneNote earlier on in the evening, all on one device. Always appreciate your honesty, keep it up! ☺
Great device. I don't even need an exceptionally good camera since I'm not a photographer, all I need is a 4k camera. I really want to get that device.
wasn't expecting her to have that curve back there when she stood up. also good review. i like that jenna took questions about the device and performed them.
Hey thank you very much for answering my question! 👍 There’s mostly a kind of release delay in Europe, so we usually have to wait until we can try new tech...:/
That's a really good review! Really good. You touched on so many things and the gaming I didn't consider and though I'd use this for work or school, all the other stuff is good to know. I'm a Pixel fan and need it, but if I could have a second phone for a job, this is a top or THE choice. They just need to IP68 it and we're good to go. Still, I guess I could use it indoors only if I got that data center job.
Nice vid, the duo is awesome, I like how this looks like a DS when you fold one side half up like a laptop, still awesome though, hope you and everyone else has a great day
This is a fabulous device. Finally something new and fresh and different. I got mine today and LOVE it so much. It works great. The integration with all the Microsoft apps and Microsoft 365 is awesome. It's a great complementary device to my Microsoft Surface Pro 7.
@King Beef The bezels are a little too much, they could've been a lot less without any problems. Just look at other phones/tablets for example. They are smaller and doesn't give any unintentionally inputs. The middle bar could also been done much better, I'm hoping the second gen will have this sorted out.
I'm still thinking if I should keep it or not. I love the duel apps on it. Productivity is really good on it as well. Beautiful design and it feels premium to me. Holding it in book mode feels a bit awkward to me right now. I didn't really think the camera would bother me but it does. It's not great and it's a hassle to take pictures. Maybe if I take more I'll get faster at it. Quality not great so I don't take as much as I did with my note 10. The software is glitchy more than I would like. You press an icon and nothing happens sometimes. You'd have to press it 2-3 times to work (from time to time). Sometimes when I unlock the phone the screens stays black. It's happened at least 5 times already. I have to close device and press power button and unlock to fix it. There's things to like in this phone but when those problems pop up you think of the price and ask yourself if it's worth it. I think it's a great first step and Microsoft should make a better Duo 2.
Nice review. One question to Jenna that I am really interested in: Do you think the Surface Duo will ever be able to replace a laptop? That was my big hope about the long awaited "Surface Phone". Thanks! 🙂🙃😊😄
mmmm that top down shot looks gooooooooddddddd Jenna!!!!!! Nice vid!!

I was like that comment sounds so perverted.. then I realized it was Justine and it made sense. Lol

you ain't got it right but your has rocked with this
So glad to see someone not talking bad about the Duo. I'm subscribing! I also typed this up on my Duo lol
So just to ask, after 6 months, do you still use it or did you move to another phone?
@@halo2redvsblue it's still my daily driver. I honestly wouldn't think of using anything else.

Okay, so could you pair TWO xbox controllers to play split screen games with someone sitting opposite you?
It's it actually running those games, or cloud streaming?
