Geez even sounds more like 80's than 2000's , 4 into one headers maybe why ol school sound, owned a genuine 100% original vk grpA so just relived it . Mega job fantastic rebuild the K lives on awesome work.
How many Goup A replicas does the world need. You go to a car show and you see 10 of them lined up. You could of done something different that would turn heads.
@@erikleypoldt8275 I built a Calais Director replica too, with a 304 injected Auto and excluding the motor and box cost. The conversion was: $350 for Gearbox Crossmember $200 VS Commodore fuel tank and pump $795 for plug and play loom $660 for exhaust manifolds $695 brand new tail shaft Can’t remember Radiator and Fans cost. Was about 40 man hours in labour, not including time to chase the parts.
@@hsvguy These were all parts you sourced? I was also thinking of putting a 304, 308. How much am i looking at for this to be built? Have to buy a new gearbox for it? Thanks for the reply Know anyone in NSW? Near Syd
Hi come up a treat looks great i noticed you have rod shop extractors did you use exhaust as well as i have there exhaust but find it very droney how is yours Thanks
Busy doing this engine/box swap now. Did you find with the CRS kit that the gearbox doesn't sit very straight or flat? Mine seems to be closer to the passenger side and the box is slightly rotated/on a lean also. Would be good to know if yours was similar? (engine mounts are definitely on the right side) Cheers

Hard fought battle, but an awesome outcome 👍
Great build mate. Had a few issues with cmrs. Probably like the rest of Australia.
Awesome work very beautiful
Thank you so much 😀
@@hsvguy very welcome my dear friend please look after my car lol ahaha jokes jokes enjoy
Lovely looking car. One minor thing, looks like you've got 15 inch Aeros on it, the Group As had the 16 inch Aeros.
I know mate. But $8k for 16’s last time I saw a set
@@hsvguy Yeah fair enough. Prices for anything Holden related are absolutely crazy right now.

@@Louie2309 Oh yeah? What have you built lately, Louie?
@@Sidewinder1999 genuine Group 3. No replica
Looks great, how hard and costly would it be to do the opposite, go from manual and put an auto 304 or 308 in for a cruiser?
The wiring and fuel is around the similar cost mate. The only savings we found was exhaust and mount kits
@@hsvguy How much would it cost you think? New transmission/conversion?

@@erikleypoldt8275 yes, I sourced all of the parts.
The only shop in Sydney that I have done business with and would trust. Is Judds Speed Shop

I had a custom exhaust made mate. We also had to modify the extractors to suit the power steering
Was there must change from $100k
I stopped counting mate
@@hsvguy I remember 25yrs ago seeing VK group As for sale for around 20k and Walkinshaw VLs for 25k

I can’t say I experienced that. Everything was pretty level.
Thats ideal
I've heard bad things about Castlemaine Rod Shop. I don't think they deserve the reputation they have in the industry.
Cant buy a vk and not expect it to be like that. Good build though
