    We are Jacob and Jenny, a husband and wife passionate about traveling the world. We started uploading in May, 2021 with a goal to see as much of the globe as possible. After visiting Costa Rica and French Polynesia, the time was right to quit our full-time jobs, so we left everything to travel and have loved every minute of it. Our goal is to make it to all seven continents and visit as many countries as possible. Follow along and be a part of the journey!

    Nice episode. I must say, watching you since Moorea I notice you’re maturing, getting more professional with presentation, editing, all of it. And still just as fun to be taken along for the journey. Case in point: the BMG droppin’ the mad Fireball reference! 😁

      Mi pare di aver capito che non siete italiani entrambi, ci sta, il cappuccino è un caffelatte, la caprese è senza olio e origano, figurerò come un italiano stereotipato ma porco dio il mio falegname con 30 Mila lire la faceva meglio, vi fate un viaggio di migliaia di chilometri, dove state andando tutti sanno dove si mangia bene pagando un po' di più, chiedete, fatevi un' esperienza genuina di quella che è la culturale italiana del cibo... after trying so much international food it would be interesting to know how you feeling about the quality of American food now. does it taste sweeter when you goo back?

    • @JacobandJennyTravel
      @JacobandJennyTravel  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It doesn't taste sweeter, but a lot of it does not taste as fresh as it does in other countries. Everything in Italy just tasted more fresh. That is probably our biggest take away, but a lot of the time we do miss our "home" food, since it is what we grew up eating and it has the comfort aspect to it.

      That's false. Carbonara was invented by the americans in Italy during WW2. It's a very new dish, not a traditional one. Before 70 years ago it didn't exist. The first time it was made with bacon, as Americans were using it.

I loooove romanian winters, the landscapes are surreal! I dare you to try The Ice Hotel... ;) Google Hotel of Ice Balea Lake. It`s built from scratch every year, so it`s different each winter. Transalpina-Voineasa Ski Resort? Khmmm, what else? I guess Salina Turda is already on your list... Maybe Ferma Dacilor? (not recommended for vegans/vegetarians) 😂

    It's nice that you tried it but it doesn't seem like you went to a good quality restaurant. From what I saw it's little more than a bar. The caprese seemed to be made with tomatoes and mozzarella from the supermarket, the platter of cured meats, which are fantastic in Tuscany, was anonymous and of poor quality (you eat good mortadella in Emilia Romagna). The bitters served in those glasses and in those quantities are very strange. The panna cotta with all that chocolate isn't exactly high quality. That balsamic vinegar is not a traditional one from Modena that is consumed sparingly due to its intensity and cost but a mediocre supermarket vinegar. The cheese is grated on the pasta and is not already grated to ensure a cheese with the right level of moisture and the right flavor. You foreign tourists, who have my gratitude, must understand that in Italy there are restaurants for tourists, where we rarely go, and restaurants for Italians, furthermore among these there are mediocre, good and excellent restaurants. You should look for these places and eat only there ignoring the others. You have to go where we will take our friends and family, if in a restaurant you only see tourists, foreigners or Italians, the quality is probably not good. Were you in Tuscany and didn't eat anything typically Tuscan? You have made a serious mistake. In Rome you eat Carbonara, a cacio e pepe, Jewish artichokes, lamb; in Milan risotto and ossobuco, in Genoa pesto and focaccia, in Naples pizza and Neapolitan ragù, in Florence a Fiorentina, in Siena pici, in Pisa and Livorno caciucco, in Sardinia, in Catania, in Palermo, in Bari, in Cosenza..... You don't go to Pisa for a Gricia and a Caprese salad, a pasta with pesto alla Genovese and a grilled chicken breast. If you do this you will be able to discover true Italian cuisine, the one we like, the quality one with fresh products. The true typical Italian cuisine is km0 with fresh local products. I don't want to denigrate that restaurant but Tuscany is not famous for tomatoes and if those were the best tomatoes you have ever eaten I am very sorry because up to now you have only eaten very poor quality tomatoes.

    You ought to know that there is not an "Italian" cuisine but a italian "regional" cuisine. So you cannot hope to get in Pisa a fair carbonara: that you have to eat in Roma. In Pisa you ask for the local sauces (probably venison based). And what you eat in the carbonara is not bacon but guanciale.
