The cost for Astral Blood is now 250 casting points. It's nearly impossible without special ressources and reduced astral spell costs. Great vid, tho. Thank you for sharing.

On one map I was literally surrounded by monster dens spawning tier 5 units. . . It was a nightmare. I destroyed a few early on but it was too much. Summoning was literally the only thing keeping me alive. 😂
Hey Pravus. You have a legendary rank unit. I really was hoping you would inspect that unit so we would know if there are infinite legendary ranks like there were infinite champion ranks in AoW3.........this is a HUGE game-changing dynamic!
Just found your channel. I really liked the format for this video. Most other sponsored vids I've seen get really bogged down in the details - which gets boring when you seen a few of them.
One of the few things about Age of Wonder 4 I'm not liking the look of so far is the how little the Body and Mind Traits do to actually make each race feel unique. I don't think they change enough about how the races do things. I would make it so you get 5 traits. 2 body traits, 2 mind traits and a special trait. Special traits would be stuff like abilities you can use in battle/the world. For example, in Age of Wonders 3 the Tigrans had the ability to "pounce" and halflings had the lucky trait that made them avoid damage with high morale. Stuff like that.
What makes it even worse is that the AI doesn't randomize their body and mind traits. Every particular non-player race you meet will have the same 2 form traits in every map you play. In general, a lot of the "infinite customization possibilities" really only happen on the player's side. Race itself has no effect on anything anymore (for example, an orc archer has the same stats as an elf archer and there are no longer any racial skills, unlike in previous Age of Wonders titles). This really does more to hurt variety and (especially) uniqueness of races/cultures than add to it in my opinion. I wager AoW4 will have way less staying power and start to feel samey a lot quicker than previous Age of Wonders titles. The world generation options seem to be the one way to add a lot of spice to your game, instead of the variety of opponents you get to fight and adapt to.
Funny thing- this was my first ever build i made (accidentally) on first ever playthrough in AoW4 (of course- i haven't had mana addict buff yet- but I basically used all same stuff. It was weirdly feel that this game IS TO EASY!

I really hope they DON'T nerf the excessively powerful builds. Many a dev would 'balance' a game like this to death. But it's when the game is out of balance that it becomes the most memorable.
There is no Hero cap. You don't need more cities for more heroes. If you have more heroes than cities, then that hero who isn't governor just takes 30 gold more per turn.
Do I have to play for a set period of time before unlocking mana addicted? Do I have to win a map? I want to build a race around this feature, but I'm not sure how to get it as fast as possible.
So far the lack of draconians in this game is a thing that will make me pass it... i would pass it anyway for a while but lack of that option kinda messes with my favourite unit type: flyer infantry
On the Draconians: The First DLC will have lizard race with propertly a tome that lets you involve them into Draconians (hopefully) on the flyers: You could always make whatever race you play into demons later which would grant every unit wings.
So bassically how it works if i cast spells i get stronger u cast spells i get stronger u do anything magic related i get steonger so the other person better not cast spell

its kind of a thing that i noticed in some games when they try to be "modern". some games (and some mmo's) start with divided races/alliances/folks with a deep lore behind it and each one having strong unique traits that makes you want to check them out or immerse yourself in there story but later they sadly decide to simply throw all that away and say "everyone can do anything and be anything except for being unique or having a deep lore/culture of there own. The upside is that if you want to do something unique like have high magic wood living Dwarfs that have friendship bond with orcs...you can. The downside is that pretty much any deeper lore/story/immersion is kind of gone and all this modern approached games will start to feel the same.
What on earth do you see in this that looks any good, and hasn’t already been done dozens of times before by other companies. A simple boring kiddies game with fluro colours, the kids really are running paradox these days. How the mighty have fallen.

You can also under advanced setting make the AI randomly generated.
