Knowledge extraction was nerfed, actually. Currently it's +50 per Hero LEVEL. So 500 from hero level 10. In Patch it will become fixed 150. Which is ok actually, since currently it is absurd. Kill 3 heroes level 20 and get 3k knowledge =\
Hm, the dragons seem like a lot of fun, and I like the added mechanics. But there's still some visual glitches happening (transformation). If those get fixed until launch, I'm really excited to play around with them!
I knew it was gonna be big when I saw the first expansion was a dragon one, but I didn't think they were going to just let us make straight up actual dragon gods.
It sounds like feudal/materium builds might get the most value out of the evolution ability as peasent spearmen and bronze golems evolve, and since the spearmen become tier 2 swordsmen, they are still viable for resurgence, I think.
Besides, having an army of swordsmen with a bannermen is shockingly powerful, even against AoE. The only real hope of enemies hard countering that is by sniping down the banner with physical range, which is easier said than done.
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure they'd no longer quality for the enchantment since they're no longer units that evolve - they're just the regular higher tier unit they've transformed into :C
Yeah they would lose resurgence once they evolve but it would still be helpful mid game to keep them alive until they evolve. It would also help mid game mana crunch as units lose the enchant you would get more mana back
Experience gain is divided among all units that participate in a battle. So if you attack with two full stacks, all of those units level half as quickly as if you did it with one stack. Using less Units to take out camps and such allows them to level faster.
Imagine Pravus buying his heir dragon doll and no one but himself knows what the dragon has done...

New materium traits give you 2 extra items + mana per item every turn, you can combine it with raider trait for extra 2 items on the start of the game.
28:00 You should be able to get 2 units per turn by recruitment (1 from norma recruitment, 1 quickened recruitment) and 1 summon. So a full stack in 2 t. If you cannot get thet far you either have to increse your recruitment stat/casting points try to pick lower tier units.

I feel like dragons could be more designed for an imperial style of build rather than a chaos/ razing build, so maybe you could try one of the order affinity traits like imperialists
That's gonna be the Dreadnaught faction, the magitech faction. Also native Champions, who already exist.
Dragon lords _can_ be played pretty neutrally. The following is my 'demonic dragon' build, but its main purpose is rapid expansion followed by creep clearing and defense.
I'm going deep into Chaos for the defensive flexibility that Demon tomes give, just summon them in anywhere you get pressured.
Dragon Ruler:
Nature Dragon (+1N)
Tail Swipe & Comet Breath
Materium Aspect (+1M)
Chaos Transformation (+1C)
Restore for Remove Neg Status
Nature Aura
Defense mode end of turn fighter skill
Goblins
Biology: (body)+Tenacious
Culture: Industrious
Traits: Mana Hoard, Prolific
Tomes:
Tier 1: Horde > Roots
Tier 2: Glades > Amp
-2 Bastions, 3 Glade Runners, 1 Support Hero
Tier 3: Pandemonium (+ Seed or dragon), Transmutation
Tier 4: Demon Gate >> Crucible
Tier 5: Chaos Lord - Give dragon trait to summon imps
Ascended Warriors from Tome of Exaltation could work nice. It's 120 casting points but it give +1 lvl to a whole army.

17:01 you can sign treaties like gold per turn for mana, and launch war to break those treaties immediately to give you extra evil point

I don't know if they're just putting it in early but I started up a new game yesterday and the Cold Blooded mind trait was already available. So that one might not actually be new.
I have to admit, having a red dragon with glowing green mouth and belly is kind of rad.
Pravus seems to enjoy this game, I suggest doing a lets play. I think a lot of people would like that, I mean u used to do 4X letsplays of Endless legend back in the day so why not?

I think Shadow Transformation Dragon with an otherwise nearly pure Chaos Build will be very Strong. Grab some Necromancers from the T2 Tome, you can now resurrect your Leader in Combat.
Why would you go with the Shadow Transformation while as an otherwise mostly Chaos Build? You can still grab Reapers to buff up your Dragon to silly levels, but also with the T5 Chaos Tome have your Dragon Overlord in every battle on the map. You could build as dual Shadow / Chaos, then choose either T5 based on your needs. If you're fighting a world-spanning War, the T5 Chaos Tome is probably better given the ability to have your leader in every single battle. If you are fighting only on certain fronts, going with the T5 Necromancy one has some insane strengths, including just outright making it impossible to keep your Dragon Lord dead.
Games like these need a Realm Vs Realm Mode. Where One set of players can challenge another set, for greater rewards. Imagine a Realm with all Dragonlords only verse an Undead or Demon only realm!
EDIT: Maybe even have it to where the Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern corners of the maps align with other Realms for multi-realm combat. (Like one realm of 4 players fights off 4 other realms of 4 players or more?)

Has anyone figured out if they are adding Wyvern mounts (I think that would be rather OP though)? If not I'm still happy with how you can raise baby Wyverns to adult Wyverns and then eventually summon dragons
Wyvern mounts are in the base game.
And they are pretty cool, def gives your leader a feeling of being even more important, lol.
@@Thornscale what I meant was wyverns as a body trait. I take it they will never do that then since it is a mount you can find and I have found them before

@@Doombot221 I know about that one since I downloaded it. I do have to correct myself after watching some more footage, when you get the book of dragons you can outright recruit young dragons. Also once you build the special improvement from the Dragon tome, you can recruit wyverns from you cities. So far the only summon is the Wyvern Fledglings
This is suspiciously fast for DLC. Especially considering Paradox is the publisher.
The premium edition included the expansion pass of 3 announced DLCs, so now they are delivering on what they promised. Now should it have been promised at all as cut apart content is debatable. But I wouldn't characterize it as suspicious.

Altough i like the lizardfolk. I would much prefer if the units where actual fledglings with the unique evolution with XP thing.
Maybe even a Dragon Culture instead. Still cool, but yeah i much prefer a full Dragon Overlord faction with dragons than civilized Lizard Folk and 1 Dragon.
Still Epic, gonna burn some farm and steal sheep. A princess also.
Maybe adaptable, feudal, mana collectors (I dont remember if it is the name of the trait that reduces upkeep of magic units), that other one that boosts rally the leagies, a champion ruller, tome of evolution, shepherd, and XP support abilities.

Ruthless Raiders seems to synergize well with a Dragon Lord in the early game.
The starting bonus of two hero items could boost the dragon horde trait. Immidately providing atleast +6 gold a turn out of the gate.
Couple it with the "nearest city" always being your only city you can get the gold snowball rolling very quickly.
Definitely going to give it a try when the DLC releases to the public.

Bro I bought this game last night. Wanted to buy CK3 or Diablo4. CK3 is completely unplayable and broken on console. Diablo4 got stale by the time of the server slam.
Then I came across AOW almost skipping it because I couldn't get into planet fall and felt i wasted my money. Not to mention it's paradox and CK3's state shows a lot.
Bought it... An hour or so later I started to regret spending 50 euros. But then something happened and I got that "one more turn" thing .. and now I can't fkn stop playing. I had to force myself. Holy fkn shit this game is incredible. I had to force myself to stop ffs

so this expansion gives us: new lord type (with stuff like spells just for dragon lord) 2 new tomes a new map modifier and a skin..... 10 dollars for what is pretty much a mod pack from steam workshop.I really cant demand having new culture and society traits for 10 dollars but I was at least hoping for lvl 1-5 dragon themed tomes.
