Oh yes! All the nice, green "weeds" haha. I still need to plant a lot of those you mentioned at the first half of the video. Seems likte the "licoricy-tribe" dosn't like my garden... But I'l keep trying. The plant right before the red sorrel is garlic mustard. Another one, that failed to survive here.
The day before yesterday I picked my first hablitzia of the season. SO GOOD!
And I also like to pick the leaves of the violets. And tulip flowers. And the leaves of currants, raspberries, blackberries. And the "hostons" 🙃start to show themselves. 😍 I can't wait!
And because I'm so hopeless at growing from seed I bought lamb's lettuce, kohlrabi, cauliflower and several different cabbages. They will probably all be eaten by the white cabbage butterfy, though 😂😂😂
It's amazing, what you can pick from the garden, that "just grows". I love that!

I love these early harvests :) I have a small new hablitza - they don't particularly like my garden, but I keep trying, like you do with the greens. Sometimes plants simply do not like a place...
But it sounds like you have good mix going :)

Yoooo I'm so glad I found this. I'm an American now living in Denmark , i bought a house and want to make a food forest. ...most the plants are new to me, and even if they aren't I have to learn the Danish name and double check, make sure things are invasive before I try planting....and it's really daunting. Glad you're posting ❤

Hi :) Thanks for reaching out. Happy to know that you want to start a food forest - we cannot have enough of those - and happy that my videos are helpful! If you are ever visiting Samsø, you are welcome to contact me for a tour of the food forest. When I first started the garden 12 years ago I travelled to the UK to see different examples of permaculture/food forests and found it very helpful in deciding what kind of garden I wanted to make :)

That looks so delicious 😍 I had no idea sedum shoots were edible! I too have patches of lambs lettuce and I love them- I wish claytonia would naturalise in my food forest like that, for some reason I have to sow it every year even if I leave it to self seed - my kids love it in salad!

I too am hoping to get claytonia to naturalize. I have a few coming up under my maple tree and a ton more seeds to sow.

@@jt659 I think they are fairly easy to grow - and the flowers are delicious too. I hope you get them to thrive!

I planted my first nettles last year after trying them raw at a neighbors. To me, they are the best tasting raw green I've tried. They are similar to under-ripe figs, if you've had them. I plan to cook some this year though to see how they are.

Yes I really like them raw too, but they are also great cooked :)
