  • I am loving the garden so much these days - so much new growth to see and enjoy every day!
I love the feel og the white filigree flowers in the garden, and here is a list of the varieties we have growing:
    Cows parsley
    Ammi Majus
    Ammi Visnaga
    Bishops Weed
    Daucus Carota
The "cumin" I mention in the old vegetable garden is of course churvil :)

Being a deer hu8nter I am very interested in planting deer food. Ha! There is a study I've read trees react to the deer's saliva to build defenses.

Haha, well I understand that perspective too :) It is much like buffalo saliva helps the grass grow faster - there must be soooo many connections/consequesces that we are not aware of - everything influencing everything...

Love all of your videos. Is there anyway you can try to reroot the trees from cuttings? That way it won’t be a total loss. Oh please do a tour through the food forest. 💚🌱

Thank you so much :) I didn't think of it on the day that I cut them back, so now they are too dry to have any lifeforce left unfortunately - but I should have tried! Will do next time. Food Forest tour coming up :)

Thanks for sharing the news from your garden. I am happy that your decasnea is doing well! So sorry for the little pecan trees. I would try an "artificial bark" (for sale in the garden shops). May be it would help, never know. What is the name of this beautiful tree with yellow flowers at the end of the video? (Sorry,I didn't understand it, my English is not very good)

hi, the tree is a "Laburnum" - "Golden Chain Tree" in English and "Goldregen" in German :)

I am in the process of growing a lilac hedge like yours to keep the deer out.. do you know how they came in? I’m surprised bc your lilac hedge is so tall and dense with the weaving you’ve done! I would be devastated if the deer came into my garden ☹️

It's been a few years since I cut the lilacs back last, so I think the cut branches are getting a bit brittle and easier for the deer to push through. I try to mend the holes with new branches as soon as I discover them. But I also think that they have now discovered that the space is safe and with a high end buffet, so I really need to reinforce the fence this winter :) It has worked perfectly for years so I really recommend making one. Best of luck with yours!

oh, more bad deer for the freezercamp 😱
I never heard, if it is possible, but I'd cut of the damaged part and try to root the top of the pecans. They are soooo expensive and not widley available and trying doesn't cost anything.

Here, the frost got the Walnut - it resprouted leaves but no flowers. I was so hoping for a nice harvest after having about ten nuts last year. The frost also knocked the Kakis back and the kiwis, and the mulberry - again: they are resprouting leaves but I don't think they will flower. And here a frost in April is not even technically a "late" frost - the late frost date is mid May. But it was too warm too early. DAMN Climate Chaos!
But otherwise the garden is growing like mad and is totally looking like a jungle already.

Hi Martina, uh, that's a good idea - I should have thought of that, but unfortunately that cut-off is now 3 days dry....
and it's true, they are hard and expensive to come by.
I hope everything is flowering in your lovely garden!

It's much the same plants that have been affected by the frost in my garden - although I have seen a few flowers in the walnut. But I'm not sure we will see any mini kiwis this year either... but BEAUTY is all around :)

@@inspiratoriet96 Yes, flowers everywhere. So I hope the little pecans will reshoot from the roots. My Kakis did a few years ago, after the froze to the ground over winter.
