Also with a spinning reel the drag set plays a big part in setting the hook. It lets you pretty much just reel into them. Combined with a fast tip and you're in the money!

Most Japanese anglers bring both spinning and casting rod each when we fish from the bank.

Also I strongly suspect not enough content providers take into account the majority of fisherman do not own a boat and are like me a shore fisherman
Now spinning setups using less than 10lb test are absolutely kick azz great in the conditions that permit fishing for 3, 4, 5, or even 6lb bass
I envy angler's who can fish regularly after work or on a day on weekend or off day in lakes with weed free hard bottoms that make using 8-10lb test line practical
But thats not the case for a single shore access lake with a 90 minute or less drive from my home
Just this evening was fish from shore one of my favorite lakes in heavy submerged weeds between patches of lily pads started out with fishing soft plastic flukes worked as jerk baits rigged weedless caught a bunch of bass
Was using 20lb braid to 15lb co-polymer using a size 4k spinning reel and a 7'3" MHFA spinning rod there would have been absolutely no chance whatsoever to have gotten those bass out before they crashed dived into the weeds and were lost if I were using 10b mono then I swithced to frog fishing lilly pads and heavy weeds and caught three more bass all over 3lbs one was IMO a hair over 4lbs if not for a MHFA casting rod and 65lb braid no way I would've ever got those bass in
I envey guys with fishing boats as this evening saw just massive amounts of bass feeding on minnows on the surface I just couldn't reach with even a 50 yard cast wading up to my limit of my chest waders sinking in the muck bottom
60% of the bass I catch from June till deer season I catch on spinning gear
Im one of those fisherman who is 2-3× more accurate with a spinning set up than a casting setup
Im great with a casting setup as long as I can cat PAST my intended target and bring my bait to my target like a frog past a series of imline open areas in lily pads but if I have to hit a 1' square opening with a baitcaster I struggle spinning setup I can hit a 1' opening all day any day
    Gotta get me a kayak

I def agree that most of the industry focuses too much on the "professional" boat side of things. The most important thing to me is each angler has their own personal favorite brands (hopefully based on consistant performance) and they preform well with them. I still shore bang in heavy cover with a #3 Spearpoint Finesse Hook and a wack rig and I trust the equipment to hold those fish even if they get buried in the weeds. Personally I run a spinning over a casting about 70% of the time if I'm not focused on swimbaiting.

I gotta agree with you. People like to be associated with the “upper echelon” but that’s just a superficial label we’ve placed on a group of anglers. I guess the best thing I can say is you explained what I enjoy about fishing at its core which is; it is exactly to each individual what they want it to be for them. 👏👏

Horsing out a fish with 10 lb& 20lb line is not much a problem how ever if you try use that thick line in a pond or lake were fish been targeted a lot I can guarantee you will be skunk I seen it many times, and key is use 2-4lb mono and fluro, and learn how use drag that will catch you more fish, how ever if you don’t know how use drag you will loose many fishes.

My standard line is 12-15 lb line at ponds and i rarely get skunked. 2lb line is insane. Especially bank angling. Youll break off just from casting out baits heavier than 1/4oz

What about losing fish because of barbless hook? Is there one that can hold a fish better?

    • @LakeProTackle
      @LakeProTackle  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It all depends on the rod, line, and angler. If you understand the relationship with each of these you will minimize the amount of lost fish.

the japanese have to fight the fish like that, because most of the spinning reel is a shallower spool compares the US spinning reel, due to the shallow spool they can't play the fish too much

I imported a Shimano Vanford 2500S from Japan. It's the shallow spool. It holds like 120 yards of 10 lb braid. That's still a load of line to play fish with.

Clickbait! Ito lost a huge fish on his last day but he did end up winning. Please don't put out a bunch of fake info trying to attract more viewers. When fishing, you WILL lose fish, end of story. All of the best will admit, too.
