Check out my music where ever you stream: open.spotify.c... / will-chen Here's a clip of some of the amps and effects in the new Digitech RP360XP. Guitar used was a Parker PDF100.
Excellent Demo. I'm a new owner of an RP 360 XP and am learning my way around a new piece of equipment after too many years using a Roland GP 8. I replicated 3 of your tones and I appreciate you sharing. Many Thanks!
You got some great homemade patches in this video! I love your "Big Chief" patch. Gonna steal that one! I bought two RP360XP pedals (one for gigs, one for home) and no longer use an amp. I go straight into the mixer. Great sounds, less gear to carry. I use a lot of variations on the "Direct" (no amp model) setting with the various effects that I like. With the occasional stint with a Fender Deluxe Reverb model. Thanks for the demo of this great, compact multi-fx pedal.
It is definitely an improvement over the RP355, but I was surprised they omitted the XLR outputs. It isn't a deal breaker since it just means you now have to use a direct box for live performances going direct to the PA. The mix and match of effects is why I get one soon.
Thanks for doing this video. I have an RP1000 now a few years old. Questions: Is the whammy algorithm in the 360 updated to what is in the current whammy pedal offerings? How is the harmonizer in the 360? the harmonizer in the RP1000 glitches. Are the amps and cabs basically the same as those in the 1000 or have Digitek updated/improved their algorithms? As we know, this modeling stuff is always changing, with today's great sound being tomorrow's has-been. :)
Chris Smart I know you were asking Will this question, but I thought I chime in and give you my opinion as I also have an RP1000 (heavily modded) After looking on the website, this model is using the same Audio DNA2 Chip as the previous generation. It doesn't specify if the unit has 2 chips because if it did, they would advertise that just as they've done with the IPB-10 so that leads me to believe it only has one AudioDNA2 Chip. With that said, it leaves me to believe the only overhaul they did with this unit is, redesign external casing, user interface, and probably some minor software tweaks to the amps, cabs and effects. I mean its easy for me to say this on the outside, but one would need to actually use the unit to get a clear picture. The software looks good and is intuitive. I like that they finally put some built in drum patterns in the damn thing already (now I can possibly let go of the GNX3000) Im waiting to see whats in store with the big units though.
the best demo on this device which actually is not easy to evaluate coz on many other reviews it sounds like crap very fuzzy, icy digital algorithms with no warmth or organic tones whatsoever - but the features r trully amazing 4 this range of price ; the No of effects (mods/delays/reverbs/filters/amp,cab-sims) N the capability to add up to 10 effects in a single preset is very attractive - the editing interface is also terrific (Amplitube like) i love the drag n drop pedals on the fly concept ways more intuitive than to play with small buttons & screen on the unit but i dont understand why the Digi techs did not configure the rythm box to be usable simultaneously with the looper ...its none sense % Thx 4 the demo buddy

Anyone else think it's kinda weird that Digitech didn't advertise a 5150 modeler in this unit, and didn't even include it in any of their factory presets, either. Yet, the uploader was able to get a solid high-gain tone from it, which is one of the bigger complaints against cheap modelers in general (That they struggle with those high-gain tones). Wouldn't they want to show that off!?
The Nexus editor allows you to edit with a graphical interface, but you should be able to do this from the face of the unit as well. I no longer have the unit and am unsure if Digitech still offers Nexus, but you can find the manual here: digitech.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/DigiTech_RP360-RP360XP_Manual_5041674-B.pdf

Have you tried this in front of an amp? I'm curious if it can be run as 3 traditional pedals (in stompbox mode) in front without coloring the sound too much. I'm not playing out much, and looking to downsize. How does the big muff sound on this?
I just tried my RP360XP in front of my Crate GFX-1200H with a DI box into my audio interface into my computer, and it worked like having 3 different pedals in stomp mode, worked pretty well, sounded awesome!
Do you know what is that little box with a little arrow that stays between the second and third pedal in the first preset that is movable? I don't know what is it for. Thanks
Hi, Will! Nice review, great playing. I need some help regarding some presets. As I understand, this is suppose to be a replacement for the RP355, wich has a guitar to bass sim. Searching RP360´s presets list I found presets 64,65,66 and 67 that seem to be bass sims according to their names; are they so? Could you confirm this, please? Hope you can... Thank you very much!
Gooood!! Can this machine load external IRs and/or new amp/effects from Digitech? How are the P.A. mixer/hardware amp linking options in the back? Thanks you all.
This pedal was released way before IRs came onto the scene. It is 'old generation' amp modelling, not like the Kemper and Helix. It's in the same generation and price range as the Zoom G3xn and the Boss GT-1. In my opinion, the Digitech is slightly better than both of those for sound and design (and PC software), although it's quite subjective. For 120€, I think this Digitech pedal also competes with the Line6 HD500 and the Boss GT100 (both of which are still about 400€) quite well if you take the price into consideration, and if you don't need the extra footswitches or to tweak lots of parameters. I wish I could afford an HD500X, but I think the RP360XP will do OK for my purpose. For PA/Mixer, you will probably need to plug into a DI box first (no XLR outs). I'm not sure this pedal, or its equivalents, sound great direct through a PA. Or at least, you would probably have to set-up your patches to sound good through that particular PA beforehand. I don't think you could expect to just turn up to a gig, plug in to the desk directly, and to have it sound as good as it did in your own rehearsal space through your own PA. Link to the manual is on this page: digitech.com/en/products/rp360-xp
@@cristianb.c.9876 at times it seems to have a weird static electric sound on certain effects. It's good, but a single stomp box always has a better sound than a combo effects unit

i love this pedal, great demo. my only gripe is switching between patches has a signal drop but mostly i use it in stomp mode but there are times when i have a clean part and need to switch to high gain. I tried switching the amp on/off but that also drops, but if using a distortion pedal, switching that on/off doesn't drop the signal but amp models sound a lot better for high gain to me. oh any tips on the lfo feature? i cannot get it to work right. i just get a wall of noise.
JAEZ I've just ordered this pedal. What do you mean there is a signal drop between patches? Surely each patch has an overall volume? And then each effect in the chain has a gain too. So you should be able to get unity gain between all your patches, and also between the effects within patches?? I hope you mean that the presets have not been unity gained? I can understand that; no pedal has the presets all the same volume. But you should be able to make your own patches at the correct volume relative to each other?
The Nexus download isn't on the Digitech product page anymore and what is there doesn't work!..... so I have a new RP360XP that I'm unable to connect to my Mac. Coni Massa Either make a GarageBand track for vocals 'no effects', use audacity to record, or GarageBand automatically enables a noise gate, turn that off.

it absolutely SUCKS for whammy/wah/volume. You have to whammy to the bottom to activate it, and it turns off way too easily. You have to be really careful when wah-ing not to go to the bottom or you shut it off. itza bitch
i just bought rp360xp, connected to laptop via usb, connected m-audio studiophile av 40 to left out / right out, theres no punch in power chords, its clear that something is wrong, sounds like crap, in demos on youtube it sounds awesome like in this video, can you please help me with this? how have you recorded your audio for this video? i see no digitech driver in cubase 5, i have set the output mode to mixer which is recommended when the unit is connected direct to mixer or computer vai usb
+Faizan Shakeel Hi Faizan, did you find your answer? Most of the time in a signal chain with different units if there is impedance differences and you need to tweak the input of the downstream unit or output of the upstream unit to find a balance between a dynamic sound (with good punch) but without causing a distorted sound. Normally I raise the level till I see the clipping on highest volume (strong chords, etc.) and then I bring it down a bit. If your input meters show the level is hot but you don't have dynamics, it is to do with output level of your downstream device prior to headphones / studio monitor. Also try bypassing the compressor or reduce the sensitivity and increase the volume of compressor or the overall patch / master volume.
Hey does anyone know if you can turn the amp sim. off? I have a nice tube amp and don't really wanna compromise sound quality on that, but I would love to just have a lot of pedals and effects.
you can manipulate the parameters on all the classic effects on your computer and then unplug and take it with you. You can download famous guitarists effects, therefore making it VERY versatile. But it has a mechanical sound on alot of effects-tho some are great. BUY IT USED FOR A HUNDRED BUCKS AND KEEP IT IN YOUR ARSENAL...
You would save both patches in slots next to each other, then tap the switch for up and down. With the nexus software this is very easy but it can be done only with the unit itself too.
It says disconnected damnit. Is it the cable or am I doing something wrong. The USB cable is plugged in but it doesn't detect the processor. I just want to record is there anything else I can use?
presets are pretty useless out of the box so connecting to a computer with USB is a MUST,to edit sounds after that ,its a stand alone device that can be used offline, there is NO OFF button on this and it comes only with adapter ,no USB cable build is good quality material ,,but all with all ,kind of dissapointed when i unboxed it and tried probably after some fiddling it will be better
The sounds are definitely crap out of the box.. and the expression pedal seems to be doing different things everytime. I can't get a hang of it,. it is not very intuitive.. overall I was very disappointed with this purchase because absolutely ALL of the sounds need to be programmed..
what can you expect from this old rp series audio dna2 and 44.1khz? even my antique gnx3000 sounds a lot better than this. at 48khz there's oomph low frequency bandwidth and smooth highs, that 44.1khz can't do. still the sound of this so called new rp series is blurry. . . "RP series should be R.I.P" GNX3000 rules!
I know what you mean; I have GNX 3000 and GNX 2, and they are still fuller and meatier than the RP's (I also have RP 350, 355) although I love both series. My 355 is a big little jump up in quality and power from the 350 (I think they tweaked the DSP), but I use them all for their differences. The RP's have more bite and clarity, but blending amps and cabs on the GNX's....I start to salivate!
mindhormone Did I offense you in any way by giving a peace of information I found on the official Digitech website? Do you know anything about me? I hope you make yourself laugh and you make some friends this way sometimes, most of all I hope you find some love and a real passion coz the way you treat people you don't know a thing about tells a strange story. By the way, you don't need to answer to this coz I won't be looking at it, got other things to do.. ;-)
I tried using it as send/return effect with only the stomp box effects active (without the amp sim and the cabinet sim) it didnt sound too good. Using it simply in front of the amp and setting the amp to a very clean sound brings the best results with this unit I believe. I have a small AWARD session MkII 75 Mosfet combo with 2x10 celestions and its pretty linear so the pedal can really deliver its sounds.
The demo is great, but the real story here is how great a guitarist you are!! VERY smooth!!

Can you have two or more distortion pedals in your chain sound?
No
Its works on android phones usb conexion?
Please! How to restore the factory value? Thanx
May I ask? What do you think? Digitech rp360xp vs Zoom g3xn?
I have the same problem..😂
GET THE DIGITECH. Zoom is for poor guitarists... hahahaha. look at my comment above...
WarrioRAbsolutE I like it I toyed with one s bit convinced me enough to get one is all personal preference though
g3nx has stupid pedal assignment features. Deal breaker
So how does one transfer this to the pedal or is it already on there?
+FrugalGuitarist i have guitar rig 5 on mi pc... but i want to buy a pedal an this looks pretty cool for novices like me
Anyway we can get these patches?
How does it work if I wanna switch between patch e.g. 5 and 15?
You would save both patches in slots next to each other, then tap the switch for up and down. With the nexus software this is very easy but it can be done only with the unit itself too.
does this reacts naturally to playing dynamics ?
It seems to react pretty naturally to me. In fact it is the first modeling multieffect unit that I really like.
Are these all factory presets?
No
@@RafaelSanchezR Five years later but thank you, good gob.
@@ARC928 lmao I didn't expect you to respond.
IS there an acoustic option?
yep, 2
Very good indeed. Too much bass & mids in the "Master" its a harsher sound.
record via usb ?
What's the cord called that's used to plug the pedal into the computer?
USB 2.0 Type A Male to Type B Male Cable to connect the RP360XP to a PC.
Can I use it to play live with/to gig with, or would the Zoom G3Xn be a better option?
Tutorial RPX 400 video demo !!!!
G3 or rp360 ?
which better one ??
honestly none :) better buy tonelab, the one with effects loop
yo are u able to import custom drum patterns from VSTs like ezdrummer?
Parly I used to have this pedal without the built in expression pedal. I don't think you can import drum patterns
It says disconnected damnit. Is it the cable or am I doing something wrong. The USB cable is plugged in but it doesn't detect the processor. I just want to record is there anything else I can use?
Hi, when looping how many phrases can you have going? Thanks
What software are you use for the pedal where i can download it
just look up digitech 360xp and go to downloads section
amigo como puedo descargar la aplicacion
digitech.com/en/products/rp360-xp
Está en donde dice downloads
Un mes tarde ojalá te sirva!
Does it handle effect pedals?
presets are pretty useless out of the box
so connecting to a computer with USB is a MUST,to edit sounds
after that ,its a stand alone device that can be used offline, there is NO OFF button on this
and it comes only with adapter ,no USB cable
build is good quality material ,,but all with all ,kind of dissapointed when i unboxed it and tried
probably after some fiddling it will be better
bassax7045 Is the editing software pretty good? Intuitive/ easy to use?
greatvanzinni Oh heck. Read all the comments & forgot to watch the vid. Never mind!
The sounds are definitely crap out of the box.. and the expression pedal seems to be doing different things everytime. I can't get a hang of it,. it is not very intuitive.. overall I was very disappointed with this purchase because absolutely ALL of the sounds need to be programmed..
Mono ?
both mono or stereo, switches to stereo output automatically if you have left and right outputs connected, or headphones.
Como poner pantalla completa el nexus editor en windows
So where is the OFF SWITCH?
Tesla Death Ray if you're looking to turn off the amp sim, it's the switch to the left of the picture of the amp head, just hit it to bypass
Now, show me the RP560, or the RP3000 or whatever they choose to call the other big unit.
what can you expect from this old rp series audio dna2 and 44.1khz? even my antique gnx3000 sounds a lot better than this. at 48khz there's oomph low frequency bandwidth and smooth highs, that 44.1khz can't do. still the sound of this so called new rp series is blurry. . . "RP series should be R.I.P"
GNX3000 rules!
The GNX3000 seems to be running at 44.1khz too ;-)

V-Robin you got to know before you were born there's a 48khz version. ;) Did not your mom told you to brush your teeth? ;)
mindhormone Did I offense you in any way by giving a peace of information I found on the official Digitech website? Do you know anything about me? I hope you make yourself laugh and you make some friends this way sometimes, most of all I hope you find some love and a real passion coz the way you treat people you don't know a thing about tells a strange story. By the way, you don't need to answer to this coz I won't be looking at it, got other things to do.. ;-)
??? ;) chill out, can't you take a joke? ;)
sure you can buy me a meal if you wanted to be friends with me.
Damn this dude never answers any questions wtfk
He made this vid 6 years ago, chill the fuck out.
.
Oh, wait, this isn't a real processor you can just use, it has to be hooked to a computer...blecch. Later...
...seriously dude?
how could you come to that conclusion? Really?
you're an idiot lol
Can you use this in the preamp section of your amp? And can you change amp models if you use it like that?
I tried using it as send/return effect with only the stomp box effects active (without the amp sim and the cabinet sim) it didnt sound too good. Using it simply in front of the amp and setting the amp to a very clean sound brings the best results with this unit I believe.
I have a small AWARD session MkII 75 Mosfet combo with 2x10 celestions and its pretty linear so the pedal can really deliver its sounds.
@@countblue After some reserach on these units..When you use it with real amp and cab..In the effect loop, you need to use a amp model..No cab model.
