Thanks for the tutorial mate! I watch your videos regularly and for some reason always wanted to see what you looked like, now I know you look AND sound like one of my teachers in uni 😃
Another very useful tutorial. As a (more or less) complete beginner, I've learnt so much from your videos, and you have a very engaging style of presenting. Thank you very much for spending your time on helping others - it's very much appreciated!
Thanks for the tutorial. As a newcomer to astrophotography, I always appreciate these videos as I can always find new tips and tricks to help me with my processing. I am currently using SIRIL + GIMP and I am very happy with the results so far. Keep up the good work !
@@AstroOnBudget A little over a year now... though I originally started by using my iPhone and an eyepiece adapter and then starting in the September of 2021, I switched over to a stock DSLR camera.
Sorry I missed your stream mate, I'll be watching this again to make myself a work sheet with bullit points foer each stage of the processing, thanks again.
how do you save an image exactly as it is displayed by siril in the preview? with the preset on "linear", all operations applied (background extraction, color calibration, histogram), after i save the image (as tiff) i see that it looks completely different from what the preview shows
Many thanks for this! Very helpful to get started with the processing features of Siril. One small addition to your great info: to remove the red squares when dealing with the background, one needs to RIGHT click. (I was left clicking and adding squares...😂) Hope this is of help to some other beginner. Thanks again!
Hey! Thanks for the suggestion. Photometric color correction did the job and removed all green stuff. That said, remove green noise is another way of removing the green tint.
After I watched this video, I understand the program keep going you're amazing

Haha! That is hilarious. What does he teach?
@@AstroOnBudget He used to teach computer science subjects, but this was like 20 years ago :)
It sounds so simple. I will try your simple suggestions .

Thanks for your encouragements. How are you going in terms of astrophotography? :)
In this video you mentioned you were using free image data from Siril. Where can I find sample image data to practice on?

I have a quick question:
Is there any way to remove the vignetting in my image?
Thanks in advance
I think background extraction can help. Have you tried that?
@@AstroOnBudget Thanks!
Do the remove green noise dude 👍🏼

astap gives better results
I must try Astap. I use it for plate solving but haven't used it for editing. How is it?
@@AstroOnBudget It is a lightweight program. Comes out as 1st best.
@@DEEPSKYWATCHERDSW yeah agreed. It's pretty low on resources that's for sure. Does it have all the necessary features?
