    @johncharnock The lattice bracing will stick if you get sloppy with the glue. You can place pieces of newspaper under the lattice while gluing to keep it from sticking. You can also wipe off the squeeze out before placing the lattice on the jig.

    @44433391 LMI instrument makers glue, Titebond original, Hide glue, Fish glue, Epoxy and CA glue are some that I have used before.

    Great videos Robert! Quick question- If I'm joining a uke back and the plans show a final thickness of 1.5mm, should I joint the pieces first, (tropical hardwood, about 4mm thick) or, bring the two pieces down to 1.5mm and *then* join them? (I've only ever jointed soundboards when they're ~5mm and then planed them by hand, so this process for the back is mysterious to me) Thanks!

      I join first and then plane. The reason for this is if there is any misalignment during gluing you have room to true it up before arriving at your final thickness. You can get them a little closer to final thickness before gluing if you want to.

    This seems like an excessively complex and difficult way to join plates.

      It is actually remarkably quick and easy. It is also consistent. I wasn’t a big fan of it until I tried it.
