I'm not sure what Wahoo has in the works. You're right that the Kickr Bike has been out for quite some time. The pandemic really set all the indoor cycling brands back a few years. Wahoo was struggling financially as were most of the other brands. Stages Cycling filed for bankruptcy earlier this year and Peloton still hasn't balanced their books. Needless to say, research and development goes on the back burner when companies have to cut costs. They did come out with their more budget-focused bike, the Kickr Bike Shift, last year, so that may have slowed down any updates to their premium bike. Plus, one can argue that nobody else is selling a more advanced indoor smart bike, so maybe they don't feel the urgency to come out with something new. I would like to see Wahoo come out with a new version of the Kickr Bike. Maybe adding something that feels similar to the Saris MP1 platform, but fully integrated with the bike and in a smaller package. I know at least one company is working on a new smart bike as they reached out to me to test it out. Maybe others are developing a competitive alternative as well.
Awesome video thank you. I'm looking at purchasing one of the V2 versions. Can you please tell me how long the belt should last and if its easily available, please. I havent been able to find it online or a part number. Not sure if its the same as the kickr18 etc? Thank you.

I've got about 5,000 km on mine and it's still working fine. Others say you should get 10,000 km +
I've been in contact with Live to Play Sports who are the Canadian distributors of Wahoo products. This is essentially what they said. They rarely see belt failures even with older model Kickr bikes. The rep I spoke to could not recall a single belt failure instance--ever! If your belt does fail, you should reach out to Live to Play Sports if located in Canada, or Wahoo USA if located in the United States. They will handle the belt replacement and confirm whether the cost of the replacement/fix is covered under warranty. If you still want to obtain a belt yourself in the instance where your existing Kickr belt has NOT failed, you need to order it through an authorized Wahoo dealer (i.e. bricks-and-mortar retailer) if you are located in Canada, or directly from Wahoo USA if located in the United States. There are two main models of belts in use for Kickr bikes. A legacy version for 2017 and older bikes, and a newer version for Kickr18 / Core and newer.

Thanks for the video, Mike. It is very useful and easy to follow the steps. Still have one issue with my kickr-bike... my right shifter is not working properly... when I need to use it, I have to make some pressure on the wire near the tape... any tip to solve this? Thanks
Sergio, the problem you are describing is exactly what I experienced not once, but twice in the three years I've owned my Kickr Bike. The shifter is defective. It happened four months from date of purchase and then again 12 months later. The right shifter would only activate if I put pressure on the cable, and even then, it was intermittent. I'm in Canada, so Wahoo USA put me in contact with their Canadian distributor located in Toronto. They replaced the whole handlebar assembly both times under warranty. I suggest you contact Wahoo and see if they will fix it under warranty. Thanks for watching and reaching out!

Glad you liked it! I have dealt with Wahoo Customer Service on two occasions and have had good experiences with them both times. My right shifter died on me twice; the first time within the one-year warranty period and the second time 4 months outside the warranty period. Wahoo USA Customer Support connected me with their Canadian distributor (located in Toronto) both times. The first time, the Canadian distributor responded to me within one day and I had a new handlebar assembly within a couple days. Completely no hassle. Since the same right shifter broke about a year later, Wahoo agreed to replace the part outside the warranty period since it was a recurring problem. Again, no hassle process and I was up and running within a few days. While it’s a bit concerning that I had two issues within the first two years, I’m happy with how Wahoo handled the situation. I can't speak to the other spin bike brands as I have no experience dealing with them, but I am happy with Wahoo.
Nothing in the manual and I haven’t opened up the drivetrain cover to check it out. They do last much longer than chains but still will need to be replaced at some point.
Thanks for the detailed video. Have you checked if the QR washers used for the saddle and handle adjustments are worn out? If yes, what is the size of the washer to be replaced. Thanks
Good question as I was wondering about that myself. My washers are still fine, but will need to be replaced eventually. They don't look like standard quick release washers to me. I'd say your best bet is to contact Wahoo Fitness customer support to get the exact spec. Maybe they'll send you a couple for free or at least tell you where you can pick them up.

It is really helpful video. thank you so much. I have one question; it is very hard to put the gear above 8 or 9. If i put the gear 11-12 i can not pedal it. mostly i ride on gear 6-7 the power is ok but cant go to higher gears. you have any idea for this? Thanks
The resistance on gears 11 and 12 is significant, but you should be able to pedal them once your cadence is up to speed. Starting those top gears from a dead stop is extremely difficult, though. Given you can pedal gears 6 and 7 just fine, it doesn’t sound like a bike malfunction. My only suggestion is to make sure you are running the latest firmware by launching the “Wahoo Fitness” smartphone app and connecting it to your Kickr Bike. If a software update is required, you will be notified on your phone. Good luck and thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video. I do have a problem with my fly wheel, sometimes I hardly can turn the pedals because the resistance gets so hard,even only riding on 3% climb. It happens tonight I'm a Zwift race. And if the cadence comes in about 70-75 the same problem. Any idea with the fly Wheel.? Is there a way to mainstance this ?
I’m not sure. I’ve only had that happen to me twice and both times it wasn’t a hardware issue. I’d rule out any software issues first. One time the resistance went wonky every five seconds or so. It was due to a drop in my home’s WiFi bandwidth. The second time it happened because my Kickr wasn’t running off the latest Wahoo firmware. I update the firmware using the Wahoo smartphone app and the problem was resolved. The only other thing I can think of is that the signal is being interrupted between your Kickr Bike and whatever device you are running Zwift off of. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Update: Wahoo support sent me 1 washer for the saddle. Fits perfectly. Will be ordering another one for the stack.

How about chain lube? Frequency, type - oil or paraffin,…? Thanks.
The Wahoo Kickr uses a belt not a bicycle chain, so no lube is required. It will eventually wear out at which time you simply replace the belt.
