Said it more than once--you couldn't have found a better spot to break down. So pleased everything has turned out well and look forward to seeing you and Sloe Patrol back in the water. (BTW, trousers work, too, but baby wipes are great at removing wet or damp glue from fingers and projects.) The magazine racks and all the storage spaces look terrific. It's all looking like home.

I agree with this being the best channel. It’s so good I bought a boat. 😃😃😃

Not going to lie TH-cam has been diabolical without your daily videos, your the best channel on TH-cam these days, the boats looking great nice job James all the best for 2022

Don’t agree with ‘best channel on TH-cam’ imho, there are others much better. Not just narrowboat.

Have to agree with Lee. YT isn't half as much fun now that James actually has other things to do instead of making videos for us!

Hello again ! So nice to see you. Being new to your Chanel I’ve had to watch back episodes to see your journey and wow the difference not only in your boat but how relaxed you’ve become in front of the camera 📷! The boat it’s self is becoming a home it looks amazing.
I’d like to say hello to carol, you are such a special person and the kindness you’ve shown to James , well I can’t express in words. James is so lucky to have not just you carol but the friends he has! Amazing bunch of people! Lucky James ! Have a great week every one! Get that vessel on water !! Lol happy days 😊

Hey James hope all is well. Took my oldest (9) skiing today for the 2nd time ever. Went much better than the first time! Yes we have ski hills in Wisconsin, not very big, about 5-600 ft drop. But we do have the cold and snow!

This video reminded me of the phrase “No cash. No splash” which is boatyard talk for all work should be paid for before the boat can go back in the water. It’s also the name of a documentary that features all the boatyards on the Thames from Toughs at Teddington down to Tower Bridge. You can still find it on TH-cam

If you need to do more holes like that use a Forstner bit, they are made to drill flat bottomed blind holes for the doweling.

I'd wait until the boat's in the water before trimming your door. Steel isn't inflexible (like when you redid your floor when it buckled/changed in the water).

  • @presspound7358
    @presspound7358 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

That’s what I call resourceful. Like the “retro” magazine rack…the whole thing blends well together. Don’t trim the door before the boat’s back in the cut. The “hard standing” changes the shape of the structure. Again….you were lucky in your misfortune.
    Cheers 🥂 🇨🇦

James, nice looking cupboards. Have you thought about making shutters or sliding panels for your window coverings since you are very creative with plywood. Carry on.

Looks good! Like the way they put together the new coupling, appears like it will last longer and accept shocks better. Great that they gave you a spare as well. The interior looks great!

Starting to look a great little place to live.
Off to Reading on Tuesday to look at ANOTHER Boat.
One question, nothing to do with this Vlog, what Nicholson's Guide did you use to go through Berkhamsted as i may need to get from Reading to Leighton Buzzard.
    Thanks in advance.

How much is the bill.? For those of us that are also considering a boat life, it would be great to know what things cost

Uh oh. You hit a nerve there. "When everything has a place and when everything is in it's place......" Hmmm. I need to do some work on my study,
The book rack looks teriffic. Everything seems to be coming together, at a lot of levels!
