    ---------------
(How can we know Love when we were never shown it?)
Little Richie was the runt of the litter, given a thick hide by father and brothers
Identified more with his sisters and mother, always felt a bit different from the others
A loving marriage from the outside, but oh, how ferociously he'd hit her
Richie stood by the bleach white bedside
Ma held his face in her hands while he cried:
"Hush, now, precious lamb, everything will be alright
I know how it looks but I swear he's a good man
Oh baby, G-d has a much bigger plan
I have my family, I have my health, and I'm quite content with that."
"How can you say this time that it'll be alright?
How can you still look in his eyes and see the love of your life?"
(He works all things for good! In the end, it is Love that wins!)
    Love was his inclination
    Belief, his dearest passion
A beautiful escape from resentment, fear of the next crushing blow
(How can we know Love when were never shown it?)
He'd wait on his lonesome for that blue hair in her station wagon
Attending those Baptist services alone, in the house of the Lord, he found purpose and a home
Richie stood on a chair, peeked over the pulpit, reminded himself and the beloved, not lacking in youthful wit:
"This is what's promised: He works all things for good! In the end, it's Love that wins!"
How are we to know how to Love when every attempt is met with the back of a hand?
It would only be Love to mend the damned, who never grew to know compassion
Just another unfortunate, beaten senseless by his old man
"How can you say this time that it will be alright?
How can you still look in his eyes and see the love of your life?"
(He works all things for good! In the end, it's Love that wins!)
An heirloom passed down before its day, legacy came violently to rip innocence away

Being As An Ocean has the best messages in all of their songs. Every time I begin to lose hope in humanity, I find comfort knowing that such a spectacular group of songwriters exist and have the courage to make such heartfelt and songs.

Seriously, when it comes to being as an ocean I do not even have to listen to the song before I like it.. I just instantly press the 'like' button, whether the song has started or not. I don't think it's possible for them to produce anything bad. I'm fangirling right now, even though I'm a guy.

everything they produce makes me jump out of my seat in an emotional fit of understanding and sobriety from hate. they are the light of my days and the truth i pursue. they are as flexible just as they are as deep in the human heart... to be bound to the earth rock hard but as fluid as water. they are truly being as an ocean.

I didn't like this at first. Like many people I was still stuck in Dear god. I really liked how we both wondrously perish but I thought Dear god was still a more solid release. But the clean singer grows on me with each listen and i really fucking love this song and this new direction now.

Benjaimn rolf They have definitely changed. I can agree on that. But the fact that they can change so much and still be so good says something about their talent. Dear G-d wasn't for everyone because it was more hardcore based. HWBWP (my favorite album) got a little softer but still remained hard and lyrically I think it was better than the first album. This new one is more fast paced but is once again getting further away from hardcore. However the lyrics and song meanings are still insanely good. Might even be their best because of the different subjects touched upon.
I do hope they return to their roots and bring the Dear G-d sound back though. But no matter what BAAO will always be my favorite band. I'll support them even if they go into dubstep.
... Ok I might have just lied right there.
