    Solid review.
    I just ordered a pair myself. I can't specifically speak to the longevity of the Primus, but if the sole is anything like the Ra 2, it'll last quite a while.
    I use multiple barefoot shoes, so I didn't use them 'all' the time, but frequently enough. I had them almost 8 years, from 2016.
    The soles on all of the ones I've tried have lasted quite a while. I've had a few of the other pairs up to 3 years now. And I'm a fairly hard use case. Ex-Army. Hiking, with and without loads, cycling etc. Vivos are pretty durable so far.

    Correction: you cant go ”down halv a size” because Vivobarefoot doesn’t do half sizes.

      A very good point. A full size, I hadn’t noticed that 😂

    I think there must be more shock absorption capability from the muscles and soft tissues of the foot and legs than could ever be given by sole cushioning.

    • @daniellowebusiness
      @daniellowebusiness  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I agree, I think we get so used to having a soft surface underfoot that when we wear no shoes or flat shoes, your body just doesn’t know how to absorb the impact!

    I like these shoes and VIVO have them on offer at the moment, reduced from £130 to £91. I’m going to get a pair from the store and try them on. I was in two minds between these and the all weatherproof version but the all weatherproof version that would keep your feet dryer in the rain isn’t breathable like the Primus Lite III are and that puts me off buying them.

    Had my Primus Lite III for about half a year now and I feel a huge difference between wearing these and my other shoes with no wide toe box and cushion. Probably the best investment I've made and have not worn my other shoes ever since I've bought the Primus Lite III.

    • @daniellowebusiness

      I agree. My foot health has improved tenfold. Despite the durability concerns which are only getting worse, I do really enjoy wearing them.

    Great shoe, I feel more agile and free in it than any other, but the knitting on top of the toe box is very vulnerable. Mine's got a tiny hole in it already after hitting a branch.

    • @daniellowebusiness
      @daniellowebusiness  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was curious about how durable this would be. But absolutely it feels more freeing on the foot. Have you got the primus lite 3?

    Those look great. I have a pair of Primus Trails but I think I’m gonna get a pair of Primus Lites for walking on pavement. Good review!

    • @daniellowebusiness
      @daniellowebusiness  ปีที่แล้ว

      Funny you should say that because I’m considering the trails for more ‘off roady’ walking. Thanks for your comment!

    • @m7rayven195
      @m7rayven195 ปีที่แล้ว

      The funny thing is that pavement is harder on the impact, so the Trails (with his higher stack) feel more comfortable on It.

  • @MrQuestful

    Had mine for 9-10 months, love them but they wore out quite quick. I now have 3 holes in them!

    • @daniellowebusiness
      @daniellowebusiness  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s interesting. Are you getting holes in the soles or elsewhere?? Which ones have you got?

    • @MrQuestful
      @MrQuestful ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@daniellowebusiness I got the same ones, the primus Lite III last September. I got the holes in three places:
      One small one in on the top mesh (my left toe is slightly shorter than the reinforced toe tape and it split through). I didn’t mind this one and used these shoes everyday for about 300 days.
      The second hole was in the heel of the right shoe, I think that one is just the rubber wearing through over time because it first got real thin before it finally wore through.
      The third was the most unexpected, a twig pierced through the front of the shoe about 9 month into everyday use. It happened to the left shoe, and my theory as to why it was more wore down is because I used these while cycling, and my left foot usually is my foot to go down at stop lights.
      I still really liked them, but I was a bit disappointed to learn I couldn’t participate in their recycling program.

    • @daniellowebusiness
      @daniellowebusiness  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrQuestful That's really useful information. You sound like a heavy user of them. I wonder how they would compare to the Trails for durability. Something I might have to look into on the Channel. Thanks for your insight!

    Hi sir, will these barefoot style shows affect my running speed?
    Also could you once specify which is better for running, using ur toes (i use this) or the whole foot with heels landing first ?

    • @daniellowebusiness
      @daniellowebusiness  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say yes the could affect your running speed. Significantly less spring than a cushioned running shoe, so they’re likely to make you slower over longer distances.
      If you’re running on your toes long distance, over time you will probably run into calf issues. Long distance running I prefer midfoot strike.

      @Ryan-cu2xs ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@daniellowebusiness ohh okay i understand a bit more now.
      Thank you for your reply.
      I've seen these new balance minimus shoes which have a balance of cushion and wide toe box. Do you think that would be a good starting point, and would affect my speed less?

    • @daniellowebusiness
      @daniellowebusiness  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ryan-cu2xs Yes I would imagine so. I've seen those and they look more appropriate for runners. Unfortunately you'll never quite get the pace with a flat shoe than you will with cushion, the spring makes a bit impact over the space of a long distance run.

      @@daniellowebusiness oh okay sir.
      I'm a 17 yr old and I've noticed that my pinky toe (I'm not sure with the terminology) has been hurting due to narrow shoes, I used Pegasus 37s. Online posts suggest 2e or 4e shoes. Would you recommend anything? (If in new balance it would be great 👍)
      I'm sorry for the long posts and doubts but this topic really intrigues me and I would love to learn more from you :D

      100% I have recently bought some other brands (barefoot style shoes) for a fraction of the price and much prefer them. I do love the look of Vivo's but there's definitely something to be said for the price point, especially considering the "sustainable" nature of them.

    About the mesh upper... Have you ever stood on a twig without knowing it, held it in place, then walked the other foot into it? Catch that mesh upper on such a twig and it's gonna tear a bit, then of course the rip will wear over time 'cos it's mesh.
