I got the primus lite 3s and your reviews played a big role in them. In December they’ll have their 3rd Disney World trip and they’re still holding up great! While I get some funny comments from friends/co workers I’ll continue to wear my primus lite 3s and my feet have never felt better! When the day comes to replace my primus lite 3s these will definitely be on the list! Thanks for all you do!
Ayyy love hearing that! Haha, they’ll come around - it’s a slow burn to convert people from what they know. Thank you for checking out the content, friend
Thanks Jake for your review! Would be keen if you can do a review after 6 months to see how the grip holds up given the Primo Lite 3 has had some issues with it deteriorating quicker than expected. All the best
Thanks Jake! Regarding sizing, Vivo says that they intentionally make their shoes a bit big because they say the optimal fit is to have a thumb's space at the end of the toe box. So it seems according to them you have the perfect fit, but does it still feel off for you?
I know what they recommend that but we have to consider other factors like anatomy. Someone with a wider foot, for example, won’t have as many issues with a thumb’s width length in their toe box. For example, if you’re swimming in the shoes and sliding when doing plyos because they run too long that’s doing more harm than good, imo. Think it’s multifactorial like most things here and that’s good general advice but not applicable to the masses. Also, some of their shoes run differently in sizing. The Gobi canvas runs short 😅 imo, the Primus just run a bit too long to begin with especially when you compare em to other Vivo models that vary more
Have you been splitting your time in barefoots and traditional shoes? If so how does it feel to switch up these two types of shoes in regards to training?
I do and always have. I'm a big proponent in rotating my footwear based on what I'm doing and what helps me perform the best. Once you're used to switching and how different footwear changes your mechanics, you don't notice that much. I do notice toe boxes a little more in some models, but those are typically shoes that notoriously run narrow which actually helps from a review context in highlighting that for others!
What if you want Casual/walking and lifting: General hypertrophy training, light sleds pulls/pushes, split quats and you want better grip than tolos for bench press? I dont know if people overstated this but i have heard tolos not best grip for bench press. Not sure if they meant 1.0 or 2.0. I think basement brandon said 1.0?
That’s interesting I’ve heard the opposite in that both versions of the tolos have good grip. I have the 1.0 and 2.0s and the 2.0s have much better grip when it comes to leg drive on bench as well as other activities
The 2.0s have better grip! Mentioned that in my 1 review because I has some slip with them on turf with sled work. The Motus & Avancus models (mentioned above, thanks, Dunc!) will give you more bite if grip is your main concern!
I tried Primus Lite 3.5 in the shop with size 8, It is too long for me with noticeable heel slip. I am size 7 for Motus Flex, size 8 for Motus strength, size 9 for TYR L-1, size 8.5 for Nike, size 9,5 for Addias, size 8.5 for ON, size 9 for Asics,,,I have a normal width foot but a big bunion on my right foot. I wear single toe spacers for the big toes every day. Sometimes I wear 2E and 4E shoes. Motus Flex size 7 is 1.5 below my normal size 8.5 and it fits like a glove.
@@singhonlo67 this comment is super useful for others! wouldn’t it be nice if there was a world with some sizing consistency across companies. Would make our lives so much easier
@@thatfitfriend Thanks, Jake! The inconsistency across manufacturers and variations within its own brand are partially due to the variations in generic shoe lasts used in the factories. Surely Adidas and Nike favour weight-lifting shoe lasts for people with narrow feet!
I really love barefoot shoes, all my shoes are like that, but I always felt like the Primus is a miss Why?! cause its run long, and it just feel like you are wearing swimming fins or something, it just doesn't "wrap" the foot good enough

They can be super hit or miss, and luckily, Vivo tends to replace shoes that break down quick. Just did a scuff test video, coming soon!

Yeah, I can totally see that. They have that flipper like feel. Think you and me are similar in liking that more athletic, true fit in barefoot shoes.
