To me, this channel is the celebration of the automobile. Beautiful design, form and function. Thank you for not discriminating and featuring vehicles that are beautiful in other ways! Its great to see million dollar cars most of us will probably only see on a screen. Please do continue to highlight vehicles the average person would attain, if they really tried!
I drove a T4 to move my furniture to another city a couple of years back and it, too, was the 1.9D with 60hp. I might need to add that it was a total hoopty with a good 30cm of play in the gear stick (when in gear lmao) and starting it cold was like firing up an old diesel locomotive. Slowest car I've driven but it was the most fun I've ever had behind the wheel of a car. And the best thing? Even with +400k Km on the odometer it was running just fine once it got going and took me safely from A to B with a shit ton of heavy furniture in the back.
I had a t4 1.9td Westphalia camper it was a fantastic machine well thought out well built comftarble and soo reliable it had 170k miles when I bought it I used it for everything commuting to work fishing cycling trips I even went on a 4mnth European road trip and after 7yrs owning it and 476k miles I sold it and it was still going I miss that old van had lots of fun with it
If I watch just one hour of news it makes me want to run off and live this lifestyle immediately! The world is going crazy and this seems like such a peaceful way to live.
With a 2.5l 5-cylinder TDI, this would have been perfect. T4s were such a giant leap towards modern driving experiences. We had a petrol T3 for our business and it was a slow, loud and fuel-consuming pain to drive, whereas a T4 - especially with the 2.5l 5-cylinder TDI was such a charm to drive (like a normal everyday car), even the long-wheelbase/high-roof ones, considering that only 102 HP were pulling way more than two tons in an ambulance vehicle setup.
Callum, great stuff lad! And what a fantastic way to spend your 20's, I travelled extensively when I was in my 20's and early 30's and the lessons I learned, memories I made, etc were countless and have stayed with me to this day (20+ yes later!) As for your VW, I think I'd much rather have one of these than one of the uber expensive, 21 window vans (or 23? 28? I'm not that familiar) that you can't drive, at least not like you drive this one. Back in the 90's I rode my mid 60's BMW R65 across the British Isles and there were definitely days I wished I had a rig with a trailer like yours just so I could get the occasional break from the elements. You've got the ultimate situation here Callum. You've got a fantastic German engineered VW van, it's kitted out with everything you need, you've got your motorbike trailing behind, and most importantly you've got your youth and its sounds to me like you appreciate all that. Nothing better than being young, having a great car or bike, and having nothing to do but go forward and explore new things and see new places. Keep it up Callum! Great vid mate!
I really wish I could spend my 20’s doing that sort of thing. Unfortunately, I fell for the trap of college education and now I’m stuck working to pay for my outrageous loans, instead of having the freedom or time off from work to travel. “Getting your life together” and “starting a career” right after high school has to be the most crippling, miserable social disease to touch today’s youth. There’s no room for adventure in modern life when you’re so busy being responsible and planning for your all too distant retirement at the age of 22.
Since a year ago, I've been looking to buy a VW T4 Westfalia or California. But now with a video on youtube featuring a T4 prices will skyrocket for sure !
Not just for these vids, this disease seems to be a trend in any kind ov video or movie, even those high-brow professional Hollywood productions. Always, the music (or vfx for that matter) is far too loud and the language is far too silent, so you have to adjust the volume continuously. It's really annoying!
Stephen O Neil So wanting to understand the spoken words of somebody, while not caring for what should be the background noise is a sign of being old? What has the world come to...
I wish I could say their choice of lifestyle is unique and individual, but it is only just a trend that young people follow. Thanks for inflating the cost of old VW Buses 40-50 times the original MSRP. I hope young people continue to follow this “Van life” trend, because now My 2 old Westfalia Campers have turned to Gold😁
Clean - Thanks. Still waiting for usa markets to have access to: Six speed vans Diesels More high tops Heavy duty suspension options Awd Multi use bumpers for racks, fuel carry etc 4wheel option Lowers replaceable brush- friendly panels Decent clearance Dual alternators Secondary battery Varied interior layouts If Toyota ever wakes up to the scaled down 2018 recreational vehicle market... game over
The only thing you have to be aware with these is the danger of rust. If it isn't rusty, then you're good, otherwise you may have to replace some floor panels or rockers.
Nope. I’ll take a nice hotel please. You enjoy the journey, I’ll enjoy the exploration at the other end, with no bad back, and a full breakfast. Did I mention room service?
1.9D non T..Oh my...You are VERY patient...Iam used to slow cars, but this one is new level of laziness. :-))) 2,4D is bad, but this one is really really slow.
Audio levels are too low. From your past videos it looks as though the quality of the shots as taken a back seat. That drone shot was visibly low quality, you can see post stabilization in some shots, I'm not hating but make sure quality control is looked over.
240,000 miles isn’t really that much. Well I guess it is for a Volkswagen lol. My 2005 Land Cruiser is at 265,000 miles and it’s still at the beginning of its life.
James H acutally building a business is for some enthusiasts kind of the next level of living their passion. They have this passion and taking it further can mean making a living out of it. So i don't mind them mentioning their Business at all.
Can’t understand much. Can’t you translate it in a more common English? (English is not my native tongue). Otherwise, a very interesting and well made video!
That's what I love about this channel. You get normal people with normal cars and the quality is the same as with a 6 figure car.

I have the 58 plate version, bought it 2 years ago and love every minute in it.
If I watch just one hour of news it makes me want to run off and live this lifestyle immediately! The world is going crazy and this seems like such a peaceful way to live.

I literally bought one 2 hours ago with exactly the same engine, hoping to have some good times with it.
Have fun! With you little Baby, I have the 2,5 Liters TDI
Beautiful film and the genuine rolling home... ONWARDS
That was a refreshing segment from the norm.
This is what everyone wants to do when they're young and if they're really lucky, when they're older too.
Ahh, the Instagram van. These vans have skyrocketed in price ever since their popularity on Instagram.
Phillip Clark in Poland t4 are still mainly workhorses and you can buy them for cheap, unless it's a westfalia conversion or a syncro in good shape
T4 westfalias never really dropped in price, it's only because of diesel restrictions that we see a slight drop in popularity right now
I love camper vans, love petrolicious... but I don't understand why this one is so special and desirable to have it featured here.
morsch agreed, a t1,2, or even 3 would be more fitting. This is just an old plumbers van with a bed in back. Could be a Chevy Astro or a Chevy.
Such a good and inspiring story
Our dear friends

This channel is a treasure.

I really like the simple ones you do like this one, Ferraris and such are awesome but this is petrolicious for me
I this channel is not about the cars, but more like about the relationship between car and people.
Mint! Everything I love about owning our T4 Westfalia shared right here. Slow, thirsty but sounds great with the 5-cyl AAF :)
Camera work was not the usual quality. Jumping all over from subject to subject.
yeah and I can't hear a thing :-/
Nice video! I have a 1995 westy and parts are really hard to find here in the US. Thanks for posting!
the music track is too loud, drowns out the speaking. getting to be the norm on these vids

You're getting old "the music track is too loud"
Stephen O Neil So wanting to understand the spoken words of somebody, while not caring for what should be the background noise is a sign of being old? What has the world come to...
Seegal Galguntijak What part could you not understand or hear? I will translate for you or tell you what he said.
I agree, I could barely hear him speak! Music should fade when talking
Awesome video! I’d love to have an old van of some kind to tour around in and bring my motorcycle with me🏎💨
First camper video but really really good
Longer videos if possible! Great work as always!
Rok espresso press! I have one, use every day!
can you tell me what kind of mpg you get out of this and also cruising speed
You are good job, hi from Russia to you!

Still waiting for usa markets to have access to:
Six speed vans

More high tops
Heavy duty suspension options
Awd
Multi use bumpers for racks, fuel carry etc
4wheel option
Lowers replaceable brush- friendly panels
Decent clearance
Dual alternators

Varied interior layouts

game over

Nice van, nice video. Axe is a bit sinister lol.
cool car mate, my dad had a 1.9tdi one
Looks like fun..
Welcome to the family:-)
My actual dream home. one day...
imagined my dog and i live there :)
What is that coffee press at the beginning?
Hi! First of all: What an amazing van!! I am thinking about painting mine. Could you tell me the green colour-reference, please?
Amazing
Cool rig
Ahh a new video perfect!
I know a lance larsen would love this vehicle
Nope. I’ll take a nice hotel please. You enjoy the journey, I’ll enjoy the exploration at the other end, with no bad back, and a full breakfast. Did I mention room service?
Why not pickups ?
I heard your filming with Mumbo Jumbo tomorrow!
Is that a Eurovan?
iscafan Volkswagen Transporter, called Eurovan in USA.
I love coffee and cars ! Check out Seinfeld’s Comedians in cars getting coffee. Coffee & cars perfect together !
Oi you got a loicence for that axe SONNYJIM?
Someone know what sort of "poptop" it is on his van ? Thanks :)
VW T4 💪👌👍🙂
1.9D non T..Oh my...You are VERY patient...Iam used to slow cars, but this one is new level of laziness. :-))) 2,4D is bad, but this one is really really slow.
mmmm, VW love.
This is petrolicious and that is diesel. I feel violated.
Big mirrors in this T4
you guys usually make quality films, but the warp stabilizer on this one was way too noticeable and almost made me sick...
Audio levels are too low. From your past videos it looks as though the quality of the shots as taken a back seat. That drone shot was visibly low quality, you can see post stabilization in some shots, I'm not hating but make sure quality control is looked over.
The music seems pretty loud on this...
240,000 miles isn’t really that much. Well I guess it is for a Volkswagen lol. My 2005 Land Cruiser is at 265,000 miles and it’s still at the beginning of its life.
It's not much for a 1.9 either, but what are you supposed to say? At least he didn't overpay for a Land Cruiser lol
Petrolicious is one big advert for 'enthusiasts' to pimp their businesses or for business to spam product placement.
James H acutally building a business is for some enthusiasts kind of the next level of living their passion. They have this passion and taking it further can mean making a living out of it. So i don't mind them mentioning their Business at all.
Can you turn it into a meth lab though?
MarKassiN probably
lol
MarKassiN I don't see why you woulden't be able to do that
You should title this "Coffee and Cars" . . . oh wait !!
Dodge Powerwagon Next?
Can’t understand much. Can’t you translate it in a more common English? (English is not my native tongue). Otherwise, a very interesting and well made video!
4:27 but that bike thow
Everybody buys these to be unique, then does exactly the same stuff to them. Same crappy cheap wood, same chince, same beard. So cliche.
Your comment is cliché.
William Gson Your response is cliche.
William Gson As is your correct use of the accented e. Damn you.
0:37
That is not coffe, that is some brown sewage water from the looks of it
Huh cool
Nice video! What is the great acoustic guitar-driven background music that is used for a few seconds here: th-cam.com/video/FBFFHrk4N_o/w-d-xo.html
Ousedale lad.
Couldn't afford a Kombi then?
Bad camera work.
Dis iz gud
My god, everything is such a cliché. The guy is like a Carhartt adverticement.
Ouuuhhhh bahhhh ouba ouba
too much warp stabilization
This video was 98% panning around. Made me feel claustrophobic by the end. Please, invest in a good wide-angle.
H
t4 better than t6 lol
Poor boy, can not afford a hotel....x
what was this rubbish? A cross promotion?
The t3 are way better
Bad cinematography, short cuts, miserable overview
