    Just got a new ssd for Christmas and used this guide to install it. Still works to this day! Thank you so much man. Merry Christmas! An extra thank you for showing how to initialize the new ssd in disk management.

    Thanks for making this video, I have this exact laptop I purchased the sn850x and the pair of heatsinks, just installed them on both NVMe's with no issues.

    Good to the point video my man. Just picked one of these up, I love the decent power in the super compact size. Onboard ram only negative on this imo.

    Nice video, Dale. Can you provide a link to the heat sync you used on the new drive?

    Dear greetings from Colombia, I have the same laptop, is it necessary to disconnect the battery or not? I want to follow the same steps that you did in this upgrade tutorial.

    Thanx for the video Dale. I got from the video that this laptop has 16 Gig of non upgradable RAM. Does that mean it's soldered to the motherboard and can't be removed for repair if a fault is suspected??

    • @CadillacComputerCenter
      @CadillacComputerCenter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It may, just depends. You can go into advanced power settings and tweak the hdd power usage.

    ssd 1 TB and heat sink for data only kinda useless for me, i would prefer heatsink to place with os or ssd 1

    • @jimwalsh7376
      @jimwalsh7376 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No reason you can't replace the original SSD with the higher capacity SSD. Install as second SSD, clone original SSD, set the new SSD to primary boot device. For that matter, you should be able to add a heat sink to the original SSD as well. Since these are Gen 3 SSDs, the heat sinks aren't usually necessary. This mobo doesn't support Gen 4, so if you're looking for a gaming laptop, this is not a good choice. It's more for creators and casual gamers, not for serious gamers.

      @@jimwalsh7376 so i cant replace the original ssd with higher capacity?

    • @jimwalsh7376

      @@timytimotius4679 That's not what I said - "No reason you can't replace the original SSD with the higher capacity SSD"
      You can upgrade the original SSD to up to 2TB. What I said was to first add the new SSD as the second drive, then clone the original drive. Then you can take out the original drive if you want, although I chose to keep the 1TB as primary and use the 2TB as storage. Sorry for any confusion.
