Bud I left SA back in 89 and watching these diaries makes me seriously home sick. I’ve hunted dassie and the grey menace from horseback on the farm with a .22, slept under the stars and enjoyed watching the fireflies. It’s great to watch and hear the accent. Cheers Boetie.
Great video Matt. I always enjoy watching the Oxwagon series, it is a beautiful place and a quaint setting for the chillaxing part of the experience. So happy that you and Nicole have that time together. Hopefully she will shoot someday. Thanks for your efforts and hospitality. Be blessed with all that you need.
Once again, a great video. I love the hunting aspects but have to say that for me, the education on the capabilities of modern air rifles has been the real gem. I had no idea how far the techonolgy has come. Keep up the great work!
I've been watching and enjoying the Oxwagon Diaries videos since the very first one. I think I can sum up the appeal of this series in a single sentence. It's always so much more than just the hunting. I can't think of any other series of videos that I can watch and almost feel like I'm there. It's so relaxing. I would love to go there one day.
So I just started watching you maybe 16-18 months ago. And it was a huge transformation to me because I watched maybe 15-20 episodes from 7-3 years of time and you have always been an incredible marksman and you only gotten better and smarter love learning from you keep making quality content man
Matt, I’ve watched all your videos several times. You have influenced my first air gun purchase a Forest Green FX Crown .22 back in September 2017. I met you at the 2017 EBR here in Phoenix. I am seriously considering buying an Impact M3 in .35 from Utah Airguns, again because of the knowledge and understanding of airgun ballistics that you have shared. I have enjoyed watching you grow up, you are a good man Matt and I am grateful for all I have learned from you. Hopefully I will see you at EBR although I am full aware that Arizona no longer seems to be an FX friendly community. Maybe I will need to travel to Utah to see you. Oh congratulations on your marriage to Nicole. Would love to see you in more videos if you are up for it Nicole. Matt Oxwagon Diaries is the best hunting series on the internet.
This is one of my favourite ox wagon videos.. I would love to go out to South Africa for a good 5 days of hunting small game. I’m saving up for the Matt’s version of the FX impact 70ft/lbs in .22 with a 700mm barrel slug liner.! I hope Im lucky enough to get one Love from the UK
Thanks to the Internet and other amazing technology I get to find a brother hunter on the other side of the world and share his life. Awesome! Thanks for the videos, Matt and Nicole! Jess
Great shooting once again. That air rifle is certainly worthy of the praise and publicity they get. That's might fine shootin' there 'cowboy'! LOL. Beautiful countryside again Matt, thank you!
It’s the shot of the massive thorn bush co trusted to him walking then the scrub wearing flip flops that always gets me tense! I’ve got carhartts or Oakley boots that I wear since I’m so paranoid.
Great video! These really do make me homesick though...the rolling hills of The Peak District (where even owning a BB gun is a schlep) cant touch the beauty of SA, I used to hunt in the Eastern Cape at least once a year and man do I miss it!
loved the show.be carefull and dont rush the recovery as its still ucked me after more than a year cant take any dust on my lungs but still improving.just like shooting dont rush it and love every moment best wishes from amblinggnome
Ever tried heavy subsonics? Like 250 grain 30 caliber? They arc, but its a consistent arc. Also, it looks like I need to look into airguns! I've used only "ignited-powder" handloads in my life. I didn't realize big-game airguns existed.
Another great video thank you, just wondered why, when you have all the kit available you don't use range finding binos as the field of view and light gathering and ease of acquiring targets is so much better.
Hey Matt, You have "grown" somewhat, career wise as well as personally and congratulations for being married. How nice it is to have your bestie next to you doing what you enjoy most! By the way, I have also been following "Sailing La Vagabond"! Another true to life story of a young couple sailing around the world.😎
Excellent shooting. Great video Matt AND Nicole. Gees Matt I’ve been watching since your early days when it was just you and your Air Arms S510 extra in .177 You’ve come a long my friend...from a Texas fan 👍👍👍
Love my Sako 22-250 using Nosler 55gn BT's. In Australia it is such a useful round. From head shooting rabbits at 200mts + to goats and pigs with well placed shots.
Hey Matt, always enjoy the videos taking out the grey menace, and baboons. here in the states we only see them in zoo's. Most people don't know how destructive they can be.
Hallo daar 'Japie' ..... Greetings from New Zealand ..... Just Love All your and Gerhard's vidclips .... Originally from Durbanville, came to NZ in 1996. Your vidclips are Always so 'Complete', brilliant photograph and narration .... Very Best to All from NZ
You let in a little covid cough there at the end. I'm over covid, but not the cough it gave me. Figure I have another week or 2 to have to deal with it. Glad to see you're on the mend, that you've gotten married, etc. Wow. Big changes.
In the slow mo on that monkey you missed and asked us about, it is quite clear that just after the shot breaks and the gun jumps, the monkey moved on you. Glad you are recovering from covid and not going downhill like some do.
Is there a video with your favorite set up and all the components of the rifle? I would love to get into this as a hobby since rifle cartridges are so expensive and hard to find now, but there are so many different components of these rifles that it’s a bit overwhelming as a newcomer to air rifles
thermal scope would work perfect for this. Especially when they tried to hide in the brush. You would be able to see them pretty good through a thermal scope.
You're living in South Africa is that true? I thought it was Mozambique. You must really be out in the boonies to get out of that mess in Johannesburg I wouldn't go back there on a dare. Good luck to you be safe.
"Keep you friends close and your ammo closer" Should go on the back of some new T shirt merch Matt?! You can have the copyright on that from me. Great video as ever!
Excellent video. I love me some boom-whop. The Nosler 50 grain orange BT is one of my favorite varmint bullets of all time. It is the one bullet that I have found that will better the performance of the Hornady Vmax or Zmax in some rifles.

Is the huban air rifle the only gun that can shoot copper plated slugs? I am getting an aea challenger .357 but I need to know if I can shoot cover plated slugs. I don’t mind if it causes any extra barrel erosion as long as it shoots.
Hi Matt,I got the helix sfp but not much vids are there in regards to how to use the recticle / crosshair ...ur vids r more bout how to use the helix fpp or the higher end elements scope ... request u to pls make one for the guys owning the helix 6-24-50apr 1c mrad
Best saying ever." Keep your friend close and your ammo closer." Never heard it, but I like it.
It is a rephrasing of the old Machiavelli saying “keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”
@@hjusn well ya everybody knows that? Catch up! Stay on topic.
@@JM10344 It's educational, doncha know! LOL.

What do you do with them
Congratulations on the wedding, I've been watching since the beginning. You know when you were a kid, at 60 your still a kid to me.

I have been watching you for a long time now. One criticism if I may, stop apologizing for what you do. Thanks for the content!
I have to say you have the coolest job ever, and a smoking hot wife wish we could do this here in the states
18 minutes seems so short for how amazing these videos are Matt. awesome job, always have me tuning into the oxwagon diaries !
Waiting to get a glimpse of your baby, when the time comes. A future hunter, like his/her dad! Good luck, guys!
Hey Matt, it's great to see you growing & how your life is progressing for the best. Best of luck for the future.
Probably one of your best videos Matt, nice story telling and it opened up the hunger to do it myself. Well done.
I read some where that baboons were a big problem. Breaking in houses, cars, grabbed a baby out of a carriage, etc
Another great video of Matt monkeying around. Thanks Matt. Stay safe.
Man, I dig your infectious enthusiasm for the hunt and the genuine joy after a good kill ..

Great video and hope your health continues…great job….all the best for you and Nicole!…Cheers💪🙏👌
Best of luck on the lung recovery Matt. Took me 9 months after covid to get my full lung capacity back.
Another great video thank you, just wondered why, when you have all the kit available you don't use range finding binos as the field of view and light gathering and ease of acquiring targets is so much better.
Another solid video. I’m 2months post Covid and it wrecked my lungs. But we’re slowly getting there. Sitting in a dove field right now actually

Love my Sako 22-250 using Nosler 55gn BT's. In Australia it is such a useful round. From head shooting rabbits at 200mts + to goats and pigs with well placed shots.
I didn't know you were sick I'm glad to know you are doing better nice video welcome back
Fantastic footage, just does not get old! Keyboard warriors complaining about blasting monkeys need to learn that this is pest control.
Another great video. Happy days for you. Congrats. Keep up the good info and scope cam. 👍 thanks

Great shooting brother!!! Excellent work!
There must always be Oxwagon Diaries!
Awesome monkey culling long shot videos fellas! Keep the videos coming!
Matt, you pretty much stick with the bolt action. Have you ever tried a semi auto in closer situations to stay on target during a turkey shoot?
In the slow mo on that monkey you missed and asked us about, it is quite clear that just after the shot breaks and the gun jumps, the monkey moved on you. Glad you are recovering from covid and not going downhill like some do.
You need to do a " push drive " on those monkeys with several walkers moving through that brush..
Great regulation of the EFF Malema’s, great shots keep up the good work.
These are always interesting and well made videos.
Great video as always been watching you from day one mat 👍 stay safe .

Great video Matt , who was that lovely driver she was driving fast down that dirt road without swerving lol.👍👍
Please do a reunion hunt with Luke! The two of you were awesome together.
May I ask what caliber is the ppc airgun? How do you fill the tank in the field?
Excellent video. I love me some boom-whop.
The Nosler 50 grain orange BT is one of my favorite varmint bullets of all time. It is the one bullet that I have found that will better the performance of the Hornady Vmax or Zmax in some rifles.
Hi Matt, what type of camera are you using for you hunting footage
What do you do with the monkeys after wards? It's very interesting to watch your videos.
Love your videos what’s the deal on air rifles limited to 22 caliber in South Africa
I think the calibre is .217 any air rifle from .22 and up you need a license if i am correct.
Nice video bro. Do you make those javelin HP slugs in .308 for my Texan ss?
Very cool... awesome series and videos.
I'm not into hunting but I'd come for the views... lovely country.
