If i have to go with my gut feelings I do not think its a new CDJ, as suggested earlier a new Mixer with visual feedback could be possible but I think an updated version of the rmx1000 is most likely
dude me too, I've been waiting for this announcement all of summer. it has to be a cdj because they just released the rmx1000 and they wouldn't get all these heavy hitters to do a promo video for a little controller
But don't you think that given you can now stream tracks to this new 'CDJ' direct from your phone / ipad etc, and these have Sync capability on, that Pioneers CDJ Nexus are essentially now just a top of the range controller? I'm guessing some will probably never have a CD in them...
Im an avid 2000 user and Pioneer promoter, but i would like to state that it up to the DJ. Give Armin a set of 350's and he will create a magical journey that will blow people away. Give a set of 2000's to some wannabe dj and they will fail every time. Clearly the 2000's are industry standard, but the 350's are good for beginners as it gives them an option to use Pioneer.. once they advance their skill, they can upgrade and sell the 350's to another aspiring dj that then starts the cycle again
Doesnt matter what anyone thinks of CDj's, vs controllers etc. Its what the CLUBS use. As long as 90% (maybe) more clubs use this gear, thats the gear you need to know how to use. Sure you can take your S4 etc in but how much easier is it with a few usb sticks. Until the clubs change, we are stuck with Cdjs, get into it!!!
do you not keep up with the forums on speculation... they have been releasing cdj's every 3 years man... it was bound to happen sooner or later!!! the 2000's are still a beast of a machine though!!!
I never owned any CDJ's cause for some reason I never liked them. I skipped over them and now I use all midi controllers. The way I see it, CD's are going extinct soon, removable media, clouds, and wireless everything is the future. You'd all better get accustomed to seeing controllers in clubs. the Aero is the most interesting piece of gear I've seen Pioneer produce, we need more of that.
Yeah, they are 95% there, Pioneer could shave some weight/price if they left the cd reader out. And yes, if any club would integrate controllers it would have to be a modular system and not the mixer and decks stuck together. I mean don't get me wrong it's all pretty much there, I even think the Aero is almost as complete as it can be. I know Pioneer can't cannibalize it's club line with other gear. Bang for the buck Aero hands down until I make 3K a night to spin somewhere.

im not gonna use it, but im not gonna avoid this new player like the plague because of it either!!! another guy on another forum put it like this... you may not use auto brakes on your fancy new car all the time but when you need it ... you'll be glad it is there!!! the days of mixing 2 tracks together are long gone....plus how long did it take you to learn how to beatmatch? im completely deaf in one ear and partial in another and i taught myself in like a month... get over the elementary aspect
what it really comes down to is track selection and timing of when to drop/start a track... if the dj doesn't understand 4, 8, 16, 32, or know his music like the back of his hand if there is a extra bar or whatever, he can use sync all day and it will still sound like CRAP!!!
You see in out butons loops (only same view on CDJ), Dj playing with hot start, a big platter, lot of CDJ 2000 in back ground, this kind of video is reserved to best Pio products (really think great Dj will play on controler?!!!) ... And in the first seconds you clearly see CDJ 2000 look ...
