This is an excellent presentation on higher-speed data for Emcomm. I agree the medical community needs fast, accurate information to help save lives.

It is irritating to be on a zoom/teams meeting where people don’t follow the courtesy mute protocols.
    Nice presentation.

The speaker should have the ability to mute everyone until he/she is willing to accept questions.

I connected to a VARA HF gateway in Guatemala, and everything was going fine until the disconnect. Because my station had to retry so many times, it timed out and didn't consider the message sent. I was able to send it through another gateway though. 73 KD5YOU

What external antenna do you use? I'm considering a Comet gp-6

So a FT-2890r with signalink will work with Vara FM?

One potentially MAJOR problem with VARA and VARA FM: it's a show with a one trick pony. Should EA5HVK get run over by a bus, VARA becomes an orphan. Apparently to date he has steadfastly refused to escrow his source code where it could continue for use in disaster communications. Certainly his right as VARA's owner.

I've thought of the same thing too, and at the least, people would still be able to use the latest versions. New users would have to resort to the free limited speed versions.
