    • @sidpaulson1

      It's fine. I recommend it If you're wrists are sore or lack range of motion in extension.
      To make balance easier it helps to keep the index finger pointing forwards.

    when should i move up? whenever i feel like i can ? or is there any advantage in grinding out the first two progressions for a month and then moving on? in addition to daily stretching routine.

    • @sidpaulson1
      @sidpaulson1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's usually best to stick for a certain progression for 1-2 months to build up the technical efficiency of the exercise and actually learn the movement. Switching exercises too often is not very efficient.

      Choose an easier progression.

  • @elyasafaloni8925
    @elyasafaloni8925 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Why so many progressions? The straddle L is difficult only because the athlete don't have enough active pancake mobility, which can be gained by pancake leg lifts. They are very progressive by the degree of the pancake. Support strength is not a big issue sense you don't lean a lot foward or backward (unlike the L sit), and can be gained with regular P bar / rings supports.

    • @sidpaulson1
      @sidpaulson1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +eliasaf aloni Why not? Why not have more options, try what works for you and choose the ones you like? For many people just having different exercises to make training more “fun” is what makes the difference from them learning the skill or not. I have always used many different progressions to help me stay on track. If you have a different way, please do your own video and share it with people. I’m just helping people out with MY experience! Best regards!
      Sid

      @elyasafaloni8925 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sid Paulson, looks like you thought Im an hater... 😂
      Im not, but the thing is that people who dont have bands for example, may think that they will get stuck. I understand that veraity is very importent for how interesting the learning will be, but I just wanted to point out that you don't *have to* do all the progressions to achive this basic skill.

    • @sidpaulson1
      @sidpaulson1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +eliasaf aloni Nooo. I just wanted to share my honest response. I think people will know that they can still learn it without a band or they will just get a band. If they can’t figure that out for themselves they have bigger problems haha. I never claimed you have to do them all to learn it either.

      @elyasafaloni8925 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sid Paulson, Not all beginners have the knowlege to know that. Belive me, some beginners know almost nothing about strength training or muscle anatomy. Sad, but thats the reality... Thanks for your responses, your videos are realy great and very informative! Cheers.
