Muay Thai Gloves: Twins vs. Fairtex

  • A few things I forgot to mention when comparing the Twins and Fairtex Muay Thai gloves:
1 - Although the Twins has more padding on the knuckles, some people do like less padding around the knuckles with the Fairtex gloves as it gives them better feedback on their punch when they are striking the pads
2 - I personally found the wrist support on the Twins to be better than the Fairtex
Let me know if you got any other questions in the comments as I may not have captured everything (or if anything is unclear) and I’ll answer them based on the experience I’ve had using both gloves.

Twins 16oz in black for sparring + Fairtex 10oz in red for bag/pad work = Elite combo

Just curious, howcome you don’t use the 16oz on the bag and pads also ?

@@teepmuaythai I do occasionally use the 16oz on bag and pads for conditioning but I find that I can work on my technique and get a much better feel with the 10oz

@@teepmuaythaiI find 16s on the bag or pads feels gross, I like the 10s so I feel my knuckle drive in.

Love the twins. Got a pair of black 14 oz, had them since the start of this year and there isnt a scratch on them, none of the logo has worn off not even a scrape from hitting the bag with them, only issue with them is at first they feel tight but after tgat they fit perfectly

I've got Twins Specials that I use for sparring and I find them tight around my fingers. Enough so that after some time my fingers go numb. It's not my wraps, it's not how I wrap, it's the gloves and how they fit. My bag gloves are cleto reyes and they're about perfect. I love those. I'm about to pick up some BGV1's to replace my Twins and see how they fair.

Yeh the twins special are really compact gloves, lots of padding around the fingers and knuckles. I found with the fairtex gloves , there is more room for the fingers

i currently have the twins special fbgvl3 (same as the one featured in your video, with just fancy designs ^_^) and the fairtex bgv9.
i like the longer wrist cuff of the bgv9 and i'm aware its a pair you don't want to use for sparring (unless it's that infamous boxing dude or a "dojo stormer")
any experience with the fairtex bgv5/bgv6 as far as sparring goes?

I got 16oz red twins for sparring and they're mint for sparring and I've got 12oz primo leather in red for pad work. IMO twins are great sparring gloves but avg. bag work gloves they're too open and make you're pu chest softer. Absolutely love them for sparring though so good for clinching also

Hey man as an Australian, where are you finding those gloves at that price? Also great review I used both brands and they are so phenomenal

      @teepmuaythai  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Yo man , I structured the sentence wrong, I was trying to say that the twins will be 30-40 dollars more expensive than the Fairtex gloves . The Twins gloves are about $190 whilst the Fairtex you can get around $150. The gloves I’m holding here they sell them at Cabra Fight store in Cabramatta

Is that in USD ? If it’s USD I think you can get fairtex BGV1 for that amount or venum. Just know the cheaper you go the protection you get around the knuckles and wrist tend to get poorer

Both are kinda shit, but id personally go for the twins. BUT, i don't understand why they don't make their gloves, fitting in a way that my knuckles hit first. Its always a bit curved in a way that i will hit with my finger bending joints. Sick of it.
