- After being a Fan and subscriber of @CboysTV for several years, we offered them a Racing Lawn Mower that we would build for them. After posting it all over TikTok and Instagram, Ben responded and accepted our offer. That was the easy part, the difficult part now was actually building it and driving 15 hours from Flint Michigan to Cormorant Minnesota to deliver and Shoot with them.

I'm building one right now. 200cc fourwheeler motor 4 gears and a clutch, with Yamaha raptor tires and wheels. On a 95 MTD

The motor kind of seemed gutless what’s the reason for that
high gear ratio, its like always driving in 5th, no acceleration only top speed, and lawn mowers make 20ish horsepower
Pretty dope I’ve built something similar on a old craftsman frame but with a 250r dirt bike motor with 5 speed and clutch thing ripped hard

My dad uses that kind of cub cadet to mow all the time
That thing would really benefit from a tourqe converter bc that clutch don't engage till it gets going like 10-15 mph
i agree my go kart had a stock predator 420cc with a clutch it could even go up a litte hill and it was smoking every time it ran but when i put that torque converter on it was doing wheelies dounts you name it it can do now hill climb oh yeah no problem
Then deal with power loss from wet, slipping belts.

Coulda used a torque converter you coulda made a jack shaft setup an find the belt size you needed . You don’t need to use the mounting plates that ur talking about that wouldn’t fit that engine just weld up a jack shaft setup an find a longer or shorter belt that is needed

Pretty sweet! Just my 2 cents they make horizontal shaft vtwins. Briggs and Stratton vanguard or Kohler commands are the best and they are torque monsters. Would be faster then the single cylinder. Still cool though
They do, but I was doing this already on a tight enough budget so I wanted to use the stock engine!

So live axle, good ratio, jackshaft, lowered, limiter removal, another suggestions besides port and polish, better exhaust maybe.
Go with smaller go kart wheels and tires in the rear

Unfortunately haven’t gotten the opportunity to go back out there and fix it. One of my biggest regrets was not having this mower perfect before bringing it out to them!
Don’t sweat it I am sure if you kept on them they would get back to you unless it’s a time thing I seen 15 + hours of driving for you but I’m sure they could use it for vids and it’s super sick just keep hitting Ryan up he’s good for it or Mike is too
i’m building a racing mower as well? what pulley do you run on the motor and the transaxle?
This one isn’t running pulley’s because it’s a horizontal shaft motor not vertical.

I dont know of any modern chain drive lawn mowers. ty for the fun video though.
For less than 50 bucks. You could pully swap and get 50 mph.
@Burton1973 it was never a pulley driven mower. Drive shaft to a trans axle.

What engine
The reason why just about all racing mowers don’t like to run is because none of them were nice mowers
Maybe need to break the chain up into two smaller runs of chain
That’s what we determined, do and intermediate Jack shaft with a 1:1 sprocket
I have 32 mowers I have 3 race mowers and rest are mud mowers

Ya I over looked how long the chain was and it caused some issues so I shipped them some parts but obviously they have a busy ache and can’t just make the corrections immediately so it’ll be a bit till that video airs if at all.

It would have more torque if you put a Cv transmission you can get it and go power sports
Tried couldn’t find one that bolted up to that engine.

I still like a modded mower with the basic stuff it came with,like a geared transaxle.
Sure it's a challenge but that's half the fun.
Mines gone from having a 12hp to a 20hp and currently it's got a 30hp on it.
The ol mst-206 box holds up decently ,but there's not much traction and that saves it.
Tops out around 30 with a pulley swap and does roll on wheelies at 15-20mph.

Oh so many mistakes made but you're young and you ain't drivin it so they're young and that's all they'll ever be cuz that thing's gonna kill em! If they haven't already snapped it, they're gonna and that's the con rod just below the wrist pin. Can't yank the governor and leave the stock rod. They can't handle anything above 3600 rpm for very long so when it breaks, its gonna show the crank some daylight and oh shit if n when that chain snaps you best pray it don't get wrapped around a drive side sprocket n rip your crotch from Hell to breakfast, taint n all. Leave you halfway done with the bottom end of your transition surgery.
