Nice hunt I’ve found a 39 s and a 49 s this month thank you so very much for sharing all your great hunts hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday weekend 👍👍❤️
Nice hunt. Can't seem to get into nickels and dimes, so I've been sticking to half dollars and quarters. Appreciate the checklist linked here too. It's been really helpful to those of us just getting started.
Nice nickel hunt GA, sad no war nickels but still sweet finds! Update from this weeks half dollar hunt, 5/6 boxes were majority 2023s but I got one box that was majority circulate and I found a 65, 64, and a 43 walker, my first ever found!
I was putting some more nickels into my '38-'61 album when I noticed a slot for a Jefferson "steel" nickels? Were they following the same mind thought as the "steel" Lincoln cent ? I never knew there were such nickels.
I did just a couple minutes of research and it does look like there are just a handful of steel nickels in existence. The article I saw said something like 6 known examples have been found.
Very true. I also weigh my nickels and there is also a big die crack typically present on the reverse through pluribus that is a giveaway for some of the years.
39D is a Key date. Means very very low mintage. Specifically for this coin 3,514,000 which is extremely low. Due to the low mintage it makes the coin more collectible and more valuable to a collector if in good condition. Check eBay for current sold listings. Redbook has the coin listed from $10 in VF20 up to $70 in a MS63. These are of course guidelines and not reflective of current sales and assumes the coin is graded.

Nickels are fun if you are filling an album or error hunting. If you are hunting only for silver and buffalos its a tough hunt.
I did my first Nickel box yesterday and I found the 1949 S and a few other things.
Cool! I find very few S minted nickels but they do pop up from time to time. In this hunt I think I had 2-3.
Hoping to get into some Nickel boxes this summer. At least looking for another silver, but I'd kill to find a buffalo. Another great video GA
Thanks Faz!
Another good video.
Thanks John!

Its awesome finding old walkers! Congrats!
@@GASilverHunter thanks! Best of luck on your next half dollar hunt!
Have you ever found a Henning while hunting? I would love to add one to my collection. And your cheat sheet works great. I use them all the time.
I have not... I would love to though.

The album publisher made a mistake. It's a known issue
@@GASilverHunter Keep your magnet close by all the time. Finding one of those would certainly be a Wow factor.
That would be super sweet!
Not all Hennings have the looped R. The '53 i found didn't have it, but did weigh 5.5g.

Nice!!! can you go live soon?
Maybe next week or next weekend.
Hey GA - I just found a 1939 D Nickel - is that a key date? What does it mean if it’s a key date?
