Thank you so much for sharing this. That harlequin 1.8t civic is F'N awesome. Would definitely benefit with a Quaife or Peloquin in there. Don't even get me started on how cool that 'Teg is as well. You can bet the coilpack is shot on a VR if its stock. Ford windstar coilpack or MSD coils with custom wires are both upgrades for the OEM VW pack. Not only from a performance perspective but from a price point. I've ran both configurations on multiple AAA 12v's, all the way up to the 24v's. Big difference. I once had an mk2 gli with a AAA 12v that had such a shitty coilpack in it that when there would be moisture on it you could pop the hood and watch the sparks dance all over but when it was dry the car would run perfectly. This was a fully built all motor AAA in a black '91 gli with every suspension/ brake/ running gear mod. Only thing it was missing was some ITB's. I really loved that car. Love how everything down to the cluster and stuff was retrofitted in your swaps. I didn't even think about the CAN-BUS signals and resistance in the harness. Really good points that could definitely make all the electronics freak out. I dig the e39 16" BBS too!
