    Loved how you did the whole thing, and when you were finishing up the kids were already in the pool while you were putting the plantings in. Fabulous job, unbelievable!!!

    just came back to watch it again because it came out fantabulous first off. and secondly I still wanted a few ideas lol. I'm just so amazed by how great it was and your video was awesome too. great job on the video, completely awesome job on the REAL POOL, definitely not a fake one around here!

    • @gason5
      @gason5  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +sweetboyro Thanks. the timelapse took a ton of time to put together, but glad I spent the time in recording. I had over a Terabyte of footage, but left out over a 1/3 of it because it was pretty boring or you couldn't exactly see what I was doing. :)

    Well done. Wow that's amazing work.
    I'd love to hear/see an update and get your take on it three years later. How has the upkeep been?
    What would you change? Or add that you didn't think of then.
    Cheers!

    Awesome to see it in the process...! Question though, I've been in the steel wall in ground pool business for years and have built easily 100+ pools, so I have knowledge of the process of commercially built pools.. I'm curious as to why you put the liner in before the retaining wall... Aesthetics wise It looks nicer, but the exposed wood throws me off I guess... I'm sure there's a reason. I just figured similar to a vinyl lined pool you'd want to cover it entirely and have a more natural look. Thanks for sharing! Hats off for you doing it as basically a 1 man op!

    • @gason5
      @gason5  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +George Ofdjungle Thanks a lot. I have seen quite a few traditional pools turned into NSP's so that should make your job easier if you can mirror what some of those guys have done. They can be a little tricky because you have to ensure you have enough surface area with plants which diminishes your swimming area. I've seen some where they actually raised the water level over and above what was intended and built up berms to handle the additional water. Best of luck. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Cheers.

    Well done mate... some hard yacka to build but really worth while.
    I feel you on the workout bit, I built an 18 by 16 foot pond (4 foot deep) lol and hand dug the bugger and boy what it took to do, really really hard ground and some rocks I could barely lift on my own!

    • @gason5
      @gason5  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +scott dickson happy to share. I used the Intelliflo 3HP pump with a UV sterilizer to help clean out anything in the water. I also have a Helix pond skimmer which seems to work well. It was a bit on the pricey side and even though I really like it going with a cheaper option would probably be better. It probably would have been better to have a second skimmer installed on the other side of the dock to keep more water flowing.
