I'm sure I speak for many of your viewers when I say, genuinely, I see no failure here...no one wants to see you in a life threatening situation, those mountains were presenting much too high of a risk. You made the right call. And that stay at the Inn and few days rest...just chalk it up to a resupply...as far as im concerned you set a lofty goal, and achieved it with poise and a singular clarity of purpose that is refreshing to see. I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel...I love your Geoguessr vids, and this series here is surely reflective of many future opuses to come. I wish you the best sir, and I very much look forward to your coming videos and adventures. Cheers!
I thought I would be productive this morning... Turns out watching some bloke walk across Wales in a straight line was much more enjoyable then I thought.
That's exactly what I was waiting for. A recap with compared gps tracks and altitudes maybe with some footage from highlighted spots would do. That'd be pretty neat!
The Welsh Military's #1 priority is to protect its people from pantless men running around their gardens and farms. Their #2 priority is to protect the sheep. This was a red alert situation that required its full complement of fighter jet.
I've actually seen those planes so many times when I'm in North Wales, they fly around regularly and theres like notices around for you to sightsee them etc, they still make me jump everytime tho 😂
@@emilyx33x Same, But these are American F-15Es from Lakenheath, Probably from the 492nd or 494th Fighter squadron. In the part of wales he is walking, It happens to be LFA7 Where the RAF And USAF Train on a weekly basis. Its insane the amount of power those eagles produce, I Think its 27,000 or 28,000 lbs of thrust. The noise is just incredible and its worth a trip just to experience them flying past!
I think that the image of the "DANGER: Uneven Surfaces & Slippery When Wet" sign is both a perfect metaphor for the whole mission, and a excellent shot to go out on.
That horse probably just wanted some treats lol At my grandparents' ranch, the horses always chase after you faster if you try running away because they *really* want carrot bits
Yeah. I mean, they are prey animals. If they think you're a threat, I doubt they would actually chase after you, I'd think they'd want to get away from you. Could be wrong, and there might be aggressive horses out there. But definitely seems more like the horse was curious.
And him being smart enough to rise above his own ego and say "not worth the risk" at a few critical points shows a great level of maturity. Good stuff!

Best series on TH-cam without a doubt, real pain, real stress, real agony and real determination. All done by a bloke who before this video wasn’t heard of by many. Absolutely brilliant. Can’t believe it’s over definitely want another series of a different country or literally anything!! Good luck in the future and Thankyou TH-cam for recommending, it’s been a blast watching and being apart of the journey with you.
I absolutely agree. I think I mentioned on another one of the videos (video 4 I believe) that this type of content is the type that TH-cam was intended for. Non of this complex money making schemes and worries of demonetisation, just a bloke doing what he loves. Fantastic.
Here here! A fantastic series of videos. Well done 👌🏻🍻 Makes me want to do it myself. Might email him to see if he wants to come to the Isle of Wight and traverse the entire length of the island in a straight line from Bembridge to The Needles.
Imagine waking up, opening your curtains, looking across to your fellow static caravan neighbour and seeing a guy in camouflage crawling underneath it 😂
Nah, imagine walking up to your window after a nice lunch, looking across your yard and seeing a bloke's bum on the other side of the river behind your fence.
What a finish. When you said you chose WALES as the country, going east to west, I thought “how cheap. How simple.” You proved me very wrong there. It’s crazy how a simple concept like walking straight can be so challenging. It shows how wrathful Mother Nature is when we ignore man-made paths. And you made a lot of gutsy moves that added to the thrill of watching. Really, thank you. This was easily my favorite series to watch this summer. I’d love to see a Season 2 somewhere down the line, and I don’t think I’m alone thinking that. Congrats!
Well interesting to know from you. Before I knew that the maps of countries like my I looked I just saw oh some rivers and mountains, not a big deal to pass them they are far away but between them and on them are much smaller rivers, traps, rocks everything. It is just the illusion we live now in this urban and global world
Excellent mini series and adventure man. There’s so much garbage on TH-cam nowadays, and it’s refreshing to see someone actually do something legitimately adventurous and self produced without clickbaiting and scamming in some form. You may or may not see this, but you’ve provided me and millions of others with roughly 3 hours of genuine enjoyment, and I want to thank you for it. You just don’t see much of that anymore. I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t subscribed to you before this, as I subscribed after episode 1, but I will stay subscribed to see whatever you have planned for the future, regardless if it’s something like this or not. I wish you luck in your future endeavors. One thing you should do is to make a reflections video or something. Perhaps show us the line you actually ended up traveling on top of the theoretical line for comparison purposes, or go over what you would have done in hindsight in various situations, or gear you should have used/could have gone without, or any other post adventure thoughts!

I can't overstate how great of a series this was, I'm kinda sad it's already over tbh. It was a proper adventure, with some real risk of dying or seriously injuring yourself at multiple points, or being caught by farmers. Yet you still tackled every obstacle head on and just plowed through until the end. Sure you didn't quite do it in one go in the end, but I don't think anyone can blame you for that, your safety is much more important and the fact that you actually finished the mission in the end I think deserves some respect as well. I think the fact that you're not some sort of survival expert/ex military guy/free runner, but rather just a regular chap wanting to go on an adventure through Wales is part of what makes this so great as well. Also loved the editing and narration. Honestly this is quite inspiring and I wouldn't be surprised if this series inspires other people to do something similar. Congrats on reaching the finish line mate, well done and I really look forward to your next adventures.

Me today
Can you upload a picture of the line from the GPS? I'm curious to see how straight it looks when zoomed out
@Mr Stag +1.
I agree, i was going to ask the same thing, if he could possibly let us see that
he didnt include it because he didnt do it

I demand the release of the final result. The gps tracked line compared to the goal line. Could you show us... pretty please? :)
This is what I wanted as well
Yeah
That's exactly what I was waiting for.
A recap with compared gps tracks and altitudes maybe with some footage from highlighted spots would do. That'd be pretty neat!

Good job, mate!
I thought they probably have been getting reports of an fighter jet pilot walking around in Wales so they thought it's a crashed soldier.
The Welsh Military's #1 priority is to protect its people from pantless men running around their gardens and farms.
Their #2 priority is to protect the sheep.
This was a red alert situation that required its full complement of fighter jet.
Would kill to see a foon in person like that
I've actually seen those planes so many times when I'm in North Wales, they fly around regularly and theres like notices around for you to sightsee them etc, they still make me jump everytime tho 😂

That horse probably just wanted some treats lol
At my grandparents' ranch, the horses always chase after you faster if you try running away because they *really* want carrot bits
That was definitely a bolt to get a treat / or oats
Yeah. I mean, they are prey animals. If they think you're a threat, I doubt they would actually chase after you, I'd think they'd want to get away from you.
Could be wrong, and there might be aggressive horses out there. But definitely seems more like the horse was curious.

I think what I’ve enjoyed most about this series is your commentary. It’s like listening to an audio book :)
Him going under these caravans instead of walking 3 metres left or right of it perfectly summarises this awesome series.
And him being smart enough to rise above his own ego and say "not worth the risk" at a few critical points shows a great level of maturity.
Good stuff!

Well interesting to know from you. Before I knew that the maps of countries like my I looked I just saw oh some rivers and mountains, not a big deal to pass them they are far away but between them and on them are much smaller rivers, traps, rocks everything. It is just the illusion we live now in this urban and global world
Should do one of the northern countries like denmark
