If your large blanket does not fit in your washing machine, you can take it to the dry cleaners. Or you can hand wash it in a bath tub for a fraction of a price.

Have been looking for a way to wash very large king size blankets 250cm x 250cm for a long time thus is the best I have found so far. Some of the suggestions made are quite good as well. Will give this a go & get back to you on results. Thanks.
I'm 75 and I have widespread osteoarthritis. There's no way I could do this. If the label reads no dry cleaning or hand washing or washing at all, how do they intend for you to clean it?
Maybe a place that cleans oriental rugs will clean it for you? I’ve seen them clean expensive rugs without a lot of chemicals. But I don’t know if they do anything but rugs.
I'm going to try it on my $500 Hudson Bay Blanket. I don't want to dry clean it. To many chemicals. I'm thinking of laying it on a big sheet of plastic on the ground until it gets a little lighter.

Out dryer broke down one time & my wife put the clothes on the clothes-line, which we'd never used before, & the clothes felt like they were made of cardboard, awful, how to fix it, beat it with racket??

If you put it in snow, that cleans wool too, the original dry cleaning.

I didn't use conditioner, just washing liquid for wool and silk. But I can't see why you shouldn't if you like to.

Lol wool is naturally antimicrobial! 😂 just air it out and it will be fine
