      @@yourinnerbeingchannel7974 Probably was a lot easier than figuring out the methods of using the base form for a hood. That's my one hesitation for making one of these. That video will be much appreciated.

    Oh hey!!! This design is the exact same as was used by the Celts, they called this cloak a Ruana Shawl (except this one is much longer haha.) You can look up pictures- but how amazing is that? You came by the design in a completely original way, well done!! Great minds think alike 😄

      The Celts did have various shawls or stoles that were similar but specifically the Ruana cloak originated in South America (Colombia if I recall correctly).

    Yup, Ruana is handsdown the superior cloak. This one is longer and wider than most I have seen (Gandalfs is wider and longer yet), and I seen no other with a hood attached. I am glad, you're enjoying it.

    I did research into cloak design options, and that's the type that I decided I liked best for versatility! I might consider adding a hood like you have.

    it seems like a long runa cloak with a hood added, very cool! I second the recommendation to try a great kilt though, they are my favorite cloak unless I know i'm headed into densely thorny brush

    If you add weights to each corner, Such as fishing weights about a quarter pound each, it'll hang a lot straighter And be able to be used as a tarp As well as your universal cloak. You do want it to be about a quarter pound so you can have some oomph when swinging And to prevent it from easily being blown away in the wind. And if you treated with hybrid phobic Materials the cloak could double as a small tent.

      This I have to try. The back drops to a point and I end up stepping on it from time to time. I thought about cutting an inch or two off, but your ideas just might be the solution I need.

      The channel Skilltree made a similar cloak without the hood but with the weights.
      😋...he ended up making his too short but the weights seemed to hold the cloak in place.

      The material is wool. You can get a blend of wool and cotton that will make it more softer, but the draw back is that is won't repel as much rain. 100 percent wool can be unconfirmable but is more resilient.

      That Skilltree fellow showed how to waterproof his woolen cloak using a product that sounds like Niktrik, or something similar, that could be washed in on a cold, low-tumble cycle.

    I was thinking The benifit of full blanket with hood is homeless should have these but wool is expensive to make human teepee with body warmth during emergency. I hung out and talked with one homeless vet who walked around with super thin tent liner as a walking blanket, cloak and weather blanket. He passed out drunk in the hard rain and was just fine.
