We visit Oxford for a walking tour around the city centre and the Oxford University buildings to admire the beauty of the architecture and to have a look at the things to see here.
Here is how Wikipedia describes Oxford : "Oxford, a city in central southern England, revolves around its prestigious university, established in the 12th century. The architecture of its 38 colleges in the city’s medieval center led poet Matthew Arnold to nickname it the 'City of Dreaming Spires'. University College and Magdalen College are off the High Street, which runs from Carfax Tower (with city views) to the Botanic Garden on the River Cherwell"
Oxford has plenty of tourist attractions, including Carfax Tower, offering superb views over the city, and the historic Covered Market with its excellent shopping. For a truly unique vacation experience, some university colleges now offer accommodation options, including bed and breakfast.
The most obvious reason for Oxford's fame is the university. It's the second oldest in the world (allegedly), educator of 28 Nobel Prize winners, and often cited as the best university on the planet. But the reason the university became so famous isn't simply because it's a great university.
Harry Potter was filmed in Oxford - Bodleian Library, New College and Christ Church College are the three university sites featured in the films, mainly in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, as well as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Situated only 55 miles west of Central London, Oxford is an easy day trip independently with frequent bus and coach services. The River Thames runs through Oxford in the early stages of its flow down to London through the Thames valley.
Oxford is an expensive place to live and, in some areas, prices are on a par with London. Its proximity to London, its excellent schools and the fact that it houses one of the world's top universities all add to the cost of living in Oxford.
Oxfordshire is a wonderful place to visit. With amazing architecture and history, beautiful villages, traditional market towns and hidden treasures there is so much to explore. It is home to famous literary figures, unique traditions and the city is famous for its dreaming spires skyline.
A city of dreams and a city of science. A city where the world comes together to create the future, surrounded by the past. A city that for centuries has attracted those in search of excellence and answers, now guarding a millennium’s worth of stories!
This is the city with meadows, where Long Horn cattle graze a short stroll from the high street and where two rivers meander through green open landscape. It’s doubled for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts and provides a parallel world for Philip Pullman’s Lyra.
This is where CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien sat in pubs discussing their works in the making. There are still pubs a plenty, and sophisticated bars. Restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes and budget. Enjoy the music, theatre and comedy. Explore the back alleys and discover the history behind the college walls.

Oxford, what a lovely city, and such amazing buildings. They don't build like that these days. Thank you for showing us around Neil. Spotted the dpd van, wouldn't be the same without one of those on your videos. We expect to see one every time we leave home, but the other day we did a five mile round trip and saw --, 4 dpd vans, and definitely not the same one 4 times.🤣

Love your videos, BUT... it would be nice to have a bit of text telling us what we're looking at (i.e. Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian Library).
I used to live near Oxford so have been telling my girlfriend which buildings are which, but a lot of people may not know.
