you can repair your broken workshop items while you "on" the space station. Either between normal missions or you can take the stuff back up on the drop ship - fix it - and drop back down.
Great tip, I've always found the workshop elements awkward to use. I'm obviously missing a big part of the game progression by not using it but I do enjoy the more natural progression of open world
Hi, Like @diogo1990fernandes already wrote in his comment, its a shame this New Frontiers DLC is 30 dollars. It surprised me that they asked money for this. I also joined some Twitch streamers to ask if they knew when they announced this 30 dollar for this DLC, but nobody could give me an answer or a date. Do you maybe know when they announced that this DLC would be 30 dollars, as a lot of players were expecting it to be free. Was it during the announcement of the DLC, or maybe 1 or 2 weeks before release or did they never announce it and they just made it 30 dollars at release?
They said the New Frontiers DLC would be paid back in March when they released the roadmap update (Week Sixty Five) but I don't think the price was mentioned before it appeared on steam for pre-purchase in July. The core features like missions in the open world will be coming to the other maps in the next major patch. I don't have a problem with devs charging for DLC though I do feel like 15-20 would have been more appropriate for the content added here.
I'm sorry, but are you saying that, the upgrade feature for building pieces is new? It really isn't 😀 I've been playing for a few months now, and the upgrade feature was there then. Love your content 😀
New since the last time I played. They made a lot of quality of life improvements since I did my play through on Styx. It used to be individual blueprints for every single building piece which was painful.
Awesome! You are back :) Its a shame the new content is paid ... isn't a AAA game and they don't released as promised ... The No Mans Sky its a example, they give new content for free. Im not buying this DLC, just watching your videos.
Stop using the no man's sky argument they also did not give what they said on launch an it took 5 years before no man sky was what was promised I played it since day 1 an have over 2k hours on Xbox an 1400 hrs on steam just because hello games doesn't charge doesn't mean every game should follow suit it worked for them it's not one size fits all different team different game it doesn't make any sense to compare there circumstances are totally different, and the it's not a triple A game is over used for an excuse most AAA games suck an are more than broken on release so nowadays you don't want a game to follow AAA studio games cyberpunk, fallout 76, jedi survivor I mean just because there AAA doesn't mean anything clearly lol then look at games made by 1 person no studio no team and there great so the AAA and no man's sky arguments are beyond annoying hearing, look at dying light 5 years of content mostly paid 90% paid dlc and it did great they didn't need to give you everything for free it launched with major issues as well dying light 2 same story paid dlc rough launch still doing well, no game is perfect no game even if you think there's no bugs no glitches no crashes that's you some ppl can play a game zero issues others play same game an riddled with bugs crashes an problems either way issues are gonna happen you need to just come to terms with that because devs will push game out knowing it's not perfect an fix it later they won't stop doing that doesn't matter how much you cry about it it is what it is. Would we all like if that wasn't true sure but I choose to not live in fairytale land built on wishes an hopes your just setting yourself up for disappointment, also just saying no man's sky still has bugs don't care how much they gave out for free last expedition they had the can't land ship bug and you can still fall through capital ship into open space and these issues were there day 1 they actually tried saying multi-player was your friend showing up as ball of light lol even hello games admitted they under delivered so with how bad it was they had no choice but to do free content until they could give the game they promised everyone news flash that was 5 years so after 5 years they gave us the no man's sky they claimed it was so if your gonna support no man's sky model wait 5 years to get the icarus you want lol its doesn't work that way different games different teams different circumstances you see how silly that sounds when you say well no man's sky did this 😢 hello games had much larger team to begin with then icarus team and most of no man's sky was rng the animals look totally stupid pigs with wings that couldn't fly an just filler content rng everything nothing thought out when you throw it into random generator. Like you might as well say every game on Xbox game pass should be free for everyone see that's another statement that makes no sense just because Xbox offers monthly service doesn't mean steam or others need to do the same. Do you think that because developers make a game Playstation exclusive they should just by default not do that because other games are on Xbox an Playstation if everything was done the same made the same looked the same priced the same you would have 1 game made by thousands of ppl but exactly the same thing don't need to be exactly the same they can develop there games differently price them differently make them look different id argue the only thing they do exactly the same nowadays is release games with issues different issues but they all have issues, saying the price is to high because AAA charging $80 for base game and $129 for ultimate they made the game who are you to tell them what to sell it for 😂 you can be unhappy with the price but at the end of the day it's there game it's not against the law to charge same price for game made by small team than AAA studio why is AAA aloud to charge full price for broken unplayable games an that's OK because they made other great games years ago? Just think about that it makes no sense what you said AAA don't mean sh*t today if they take year or 2 to fix the game there no better then small studios\teams an no man's sky had one of the worst launches using them to justify anything other then studios and devs can make mistakes an recover that's it you can't say no man's sky did it right no hello games even said they wish they never released it in that state an if they hadn't you think you would still get free content from nms hell naw they would he charging you for everything
@@TakenCypress369 well... nice speech, but you didn't convince me. You've resigned yourself to the situation, I haven't. In my opinion, you shouldn't promise what you can't do, it's better to be poor and honest and gain true fans this way, than the other way ... I am of the same opinion as Big Fry and Z1 Gaming and many others. Its because of people like you devs can continue to do what they are being doing, deliver a incomplete game and charge after, and you pay and smile .... I don't want to prolong this question, this channel is not for that. Let's agree to disagree. Stay safe.
Great question! It depends on your play style. With the new DLC you can do missions in open world meaning you don't have to choose between them! This has been a welcome update to the game. They are currently working to bring this functionality to the base game maps as well but I'm not sure when that will be available. In the base game the missions are only available through mission based play and I'd probably recommend doing some of the early exploration missions to learn how the game mechanics work. I generally prefer an open world play style where your base persists. This also allows you to level up and unlock additional talents and blueprints before trying to tackle more advanced mission based play.
The hitching thing isn't something they can fully fix, it's a limitation of how the Unreal Engine works unfortunately. It's been such a big problem they totally redesigned the way Unreal loads map chunks for Unreal Engine 5, but moving to that is essentially remaking the game at this point.
As a full time Game Developer myself I can appreciate the technical hurdles involved however my counter argument would be that there are a number of other open world games that seem to handle it much smoother. It is unfortunate that migrating to the new engine is so difficult because they've added so many cool features to UE5 that I think a game like Icarus would really benefit from. :)
@@KederkBuilds The lead dev said it'd be too much work for not enough reward to move to UE5 at this point. If they were starting it now, they'd have gone with UE5 of course. Their biggest complaint about it isn't even something in game, it's how it handles updates on Steam. Epic refuse to allow for the same kind of update system they have on Epic Game Store where it just changes the actually changed files. The way it works on Steam is to basically download the changed files, unpack, change, then repack the whole thing so a small 100mb update could actually require your system to write a few gigs to your drive. It also takes forever! Either way, they've been doing some great work on Icarus as of late. The refocus on the open world and bringing everything in to it has been pretty nicely done. I like how they handled the respawning of ores for example with the Thumper. It's really in-keeping with the theme. They could have been lazy and just had things re-pop after x time but did something fun with it instead. It'll be nice to be able to do missions from within the open world too on the original maps, it'll be much more new player friendly too (and especially for those with little patience lol). Being able to use my mega base as a hub so as not needing to rebuild everything each time will be cool! I'm also glad they kept them as they always have been too for those who prefer the start over every time thing.
Yeah it seems like Epic is making things more difficult on developers to try and force more things over to Epic Game Store. I am looking forward to seeing the missions come to open world on the other maps in the future update. Will give me more motivation to go back and complete those I think.
Dope Bro I'm glad you came back love your vids!!!!!!
Just found your channel while looking for Icarus playthroughs, looking forward to watching every episode starting from this one
You're back! Woot! Love the episode!
Woohooo! Been wondering when the next episode was coming. Been watching some of your farming streams, makes me want to get back into farm sim.

Use the stone axe or pickaxe to break up bones. That way, your knife will last longer.
Great point! I always forget how much durability damage the knife takes from doing that.
