  • Pink or blue? A construction toy or a doll? The gender dichotomy. Did you know that blue was originally the color for girls? It’s true: Blue used to be for girls as it was seen as more “dainty,” while pink used to be associated with boys as it was seen as the stronger color. It didn’t change until the 1950s when some big advertising campaigns pushed pink as a feminine color exclusively for girls. Take #boysdancetoo. When Prince George was recently trolled and bullied online for practicing ballet that hastag quickly became a teaching moment about stereotypes and inclusion that manifested itself in the middle of Times Square when 300 dancers, many of them male, responded by gathering to hold a massive dance class. If boys can’t dance ballet, girls can’t play baseball. Why are we judging, and how do we evolve as people if we are putting these old-school frameworks on gender in today’s modern times? Courtney Lucius an 11th grader is showing us the way. Courtney shares how Generation Z is not buying into the 1950s advertising or the idea that gender is fixed. Gen Z has rejected the societal constraints they’ve been born into and have normalized a variety of expressions that may not have been as accepted in the past. Courtney shares with us how GenZ is using technology to change the narrative on gender expression in America's youth and calls on us to reject the pink vs. blue age old notion. I don't understand what gender identity is. It is literally putting certain behaviors into the boxes of masculine and feminine and assigning labels onto people based on what behaviors they do. I don't feel like a man, I feel like myself! What does 'being a woman' feel like? The modern concept of gender is convoluted to the point where it doesn't mean anything anymore. I am not attracted to someone who wears dresses, I am attracted to someone who biologically is a woman based on anatomy. Gender identity litterally is a subjective made up concept with no basis in reality. And no, I am not a white boomer, I am a teenager.

    Blah Blah Blah.
Take a blood test at the hospital. No matter how old or young you are, it will reveal your gender.

You must have a very shallow inner experience… which is a fine way to live, but sucks you are missing out on the depths of what makes you “you”

How is this video surfacing only for people who refuse to accept that people’s inner experiences matter?

God, if there is one and it things actually went according to the book, also let’s us decide things for ourselves. He provided physical form, but gave us a brain capable of very complex introspection.
The best kind of creator/manager/mentor will provide a little guidance or push, and let the pupil find their own way to success. If God is real, then likely it would not assume that we limit ourselves to a shallow life experience, especially given our fall from Grace via Apple.

I thought my identity was classified by this thing that swings around when I'm not wearing pants, but Gen Z wants to create their own label for everything and put it over already existing labels.
