*Bought a 500 for an ultralight rod. It's very smooth **enjoyable.fishing** recommend casts great. One odd thing- the bale wire is a bit heavy diameter in my opinion for a reel of this size. But a great purchase.*
Just bought a SaltX Reel. Both sizes now go for only $300 bananas. Being a NYorker i wanted to buy online but out of state. Reason is NO tax collected.
I first bought from Jersey but they hit me with $25 tax (nj collects for ny). I said frig that and canceled the order.
So i ended up buying from "AllTackle" in Maryland. Free shipping and NO tax (so i saved $25). Cost me $299.99 grand total. They shipped it to me in 3 days. Good deal!

Awesome vid , I got 2 setups with 6000s on them ODM Jig 11ft and a Darkmatter 10ft .... Probably one of the best setups for The Canal here in Mass
I have 3 surf rods which are Airwave 10’, Airwave Elite 10.5’ and Trophy II 9’. I love Airwave Elite 10.5’ and I haven’t had a chance to use Trophy II yet but so far I like what I see. I would say Trophy II 10’ for budget, Airwave Elite for mid and SaltX if you want to spend extra money.
You need korkers man, remember what happened at MTK. Tight lines 🤙
I got the 6000 I love them super power and I had it for all most a year
If you havent already just buy a pair of Korkers and it will help you walk down closer to the edge of the water.

400 dollar reell!! Holy moly!! The last time I spent big money like that on fishing was the time I had a 5 ft. Barracuda I caught in Ft. Lauderdale taxidermed! 700 dollars!! My wife almost sent me to the garage to sleep when she found out!! 😲

Tsunami airway elite 10' 1-4 oz best bang for the buck and it definitely won't explode like that rod. It's unfortunate out of all the tsunami rods you could have bought you bought the biggest piece of junk they make.
Hey even does they are not that expense I always buy Ugly Stik rod for offshore , surf fishing and never had one brake on me the very good and strong rods . 🦈🐠🐟

I bought the 6000 about 4 months ago and haven't used it yet. Wanted it to take a trip to C.C.C. and the pandemic did away with my plans. Have some nice rods to go with it. I also have a stradic c5000 that I pair with the Dark Matter rod from J and H tackle. That's a good rod. You should try it out.
Have an 11 and 12 foot prevail. Great rods so far 2 years in. Bait only. One with a Shimano 6000 baitcaster the other with an old school Penn
I personally like 9 FT St. Croix and 10 FT Okuma are my go to surf rods.
I have found in over 30 years fishing in the surf, Lamiglas is the best rod bar none. But get a 1 piece blank.

Same thing happened to my airwave last year at west end 2 Jones beach. Went to cast and it broke into 2 pieces. Brought it back to causeway and they gave me a brand new one. Said it was probably just a manufactures defect
Can you share Long island spots to fish?
This is the reason why I no longer use Tsunami Air Wave rods. Mine broke on my second cast. Now I go to Lamiglass, St.Croix, Dark Matters, or ODM.

How did you like this reel ? Did you end up dunking and abusing it ? I will be testing reel out this season but don’t plan on really using it like I would a VS doubt it can handle that abuse like they claim without issues, curious to see how it worked for you

Bro I have the same reel and I have it paired with a 9’6 tsunami airwave elite ...it’s amazing and I also have a mojo surf rod not sure the measurements but rod is over 10ft maybe 10’6...check for be at warranty
Don't know anything about the reels from Tsunami but I d know about their rods. Owned at least four and that's where I stop, all four had some type of problem and two of them blow up just like you on a cast. Did love using them but now I'm own custom Rainshadow rods and those rods have handled some shit 🤣🤣🤣 Love the vids bro, keep up the great work

Had a 9ft airwave that did the same thing but up closer to the tip. Never getting a Tsunami rod again after last year :-/
Crazy. I bought the trophy 2 and the saltx rods. They seem to be handling well.
@@GetReelBassFishing I also had a Tsunami conventional rod just snap when trying to break off from a snag bottom fishing for fluke. Their products have just not been satisfactory for me for the most part. I now have an ODM DNA surf rod and it is handling itself very well

Actually i rewatched, no mention of korkers. Just your too small for the surf, nevermind an inlet reel. Plus you can usually hear the metal spikes on rocks. 🤔

nice video man. i knew you would go for the saltx 4k good choice. i just purchased my 2nd saltx rod 2hrs ago. such a great rod and its wayyyyy under priced. i have the 10'm matched with van staal 200x and i just got my 8'6m for my new spinfisher vi 4500 bailless and what a good match up. i was going to actually purchased the saltx reel but they run a little on the heavy side and i wanted a 2nd setup on the lite side. i also have the 11' air-wave elite which is such a great rod when i really need the distance but i can pretty much do the same with the 10'm saltx. trust me man check out the saltx rod 10'm your going to love it with that reel. good luck on that reel man

Marcin Romanczyk for sure buddy. Took me a little to get used to it. Now I would never go back! Still use the bail at night. My blind butt needs help so the bail serves me well. Now I only lose lures at night due to forgetting to pull back bail before cast lol
