The thing about the apocryphal/non-canonical books is that they were discovered along with the original canonical books. Meaning early Christians valued them just as much as the canonical books and didn’t see them any differently. How they ended up being excluded is that Jews/Christians/other groups with their own bible just picked out what they wanted to be canon, and the ones that seemed more bizarre and not fitting the mainstream narrative were deemed heretical and tossed out. I’m not religious but find this historically and anthropologically fascinating, since the early people believed in them all equally, it was just the developing groups that just chose not to include them so now we get the modern bibles. I personally believe that giants were an advanced alien civilization that came to Egypt long long ago. There they build the pyramids and started interbreeding with the Egyptians. My theory is, back in that time everyone was like 4 ft tall and when someone who was like Shaq’s size was discovered they thought he was a giant. So pretty much giants still live today. Everyone else is just getting bigger, so it’s not such a big difference
