I super remember waking up to "the dawn is your enemy" bump in the middle of the night several times as a kid and thinking I was having some sort of nightmare.
One of the weirdest and honestly out of character moments in Adult Swim’s history is the whole “Million Dollar Extreme presents World Peace” arc, the fact most of these skits aired on television is insane and the fallout that came from it practically changed the internet, it’s a weird little ripple effect that one controversial show had
As someone who grew up watching adult swim from 2002 - 2016 it was a return to classic Adult Swim in a way. It was a natural evolution of the show Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job and felt extremely in tune for the time which is why it did so well. Much like when Aqua Teen Hunger Force ended, it just added more jade to the channel and was ultimately what made me stop watching. In the early days it was for the counter culture teens/adults who would enjoy spaceghost, sealab 2021, Aqua teen, and venture bros as well as the teen girls who loved anime and would ogle over Inuyasha and the protagonist from Trigun. Family Guy/Dethklok/Robot Chicken was the peak of Adult Swim and tapered off towards the end with a dead cat bounce from Off the Air and MDE world peace.

Adult Swim is awesome
There was a weird time in ADULT swims past where they were littered with owl imagery and then a weird message that they usually had said something about HQ being taken over by the illuminato. Creeped me the F out
It’s because our building on Williams Street in Atlanta had a giant gold owl built by SCAD decades ago. It looms over interstate 85.
@@Canyonradio whoa. That's pretty Meta. That was the most ominous time for me. Cuz you'd have ATHF and then some bleak slide during the commercials.
@@AlmostCoolGuys isn’t that life though? Sadly, there was a giant change of guard over the last 3 years with founders Keith Crofford and Mike Lazzo retiring. Best bosses ever, especially Keith.
@@Canyonradio ya I guess so. Small distractions from the grand scale of reality. I remember seein Mike Lazzos name plastered basically all over my childhood. Awesome to hear
I REMEMBER THIS VIVIDLY
I usually was a night owl even as a kid and I swear on it the bumper “the dawn is your enemy” was a thing that happened before CN came back on, usually around 5:59 am.
I About Had A Heart Attack When You Said "ALL KIDS OUT OF THE POOL" Like Holy Shit 🤣🤣
Bro me too my volume was on 999999999 for no reason too
I ripped my earbuds out of my ears sooooo fucking fast
all kids out of the pool committed genocide on my ears.
I even have some nostalgia of the message that adult swim would begin to start because I would be to scared to watch it. Awesome video
Doing an Adult Swim Iceberg with a Nickelodeon shirt on. I respect it.
I wanna say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart man when you said the name of the all time and Eastern song(sorry I can’t remember the full title without seeing it) but I have been trying to find that song for years and never could track it because I didn’t know any identifying ways to google it that’ would work and never could find anything about it by searching “adult swim bumper songs” but I remember sleeping in the living room with my older brother when we were kids and this song came on we listened to it and loved the way it sounded but only heard the part from the bumper, he died in 2005 at 10 years old and hearing that song after so long of searching for it brought a tear to my eye and made me so happy! I am sorry to leave this sad comment but I’m so happy right now! Thank you so much I’m subscribing just because you did that but this video is amazing as well!
Dang glad I could help in a very small way man!
Fox News account of what a Moonanite is was actually surprisingly thorough.
Shin Chan is such an underrated and hidden gem, its so funny.
yup, basically my childhood, but i only watch the Chinese dub because of nostalgia
That’s how I feel about Perfect Hair Forever
Yes I loved shin Chan omg
It's funny that it's a hidden gem over here, where in Japan it's one of the longest running animated shows lol
@@Chris-ri4jl It never got popular in the US because the copyright holders in Japan are very stingy and did not like the innapropriate dub, despite the show being slightly innapropriate in the Japanese version.
It's really interesting how Eric Andre actually pretended that his show was a normal talk show to trick people, I'd like to be one of the celebrities that got that fake footage.
That melancholic euphoria/nostalgia is so accurate.
What's the song that's playing?
I'm somewhat of an Adult Swim connoisseur myself, I loved all the old cyriak bumps. If I recall correctly, his bumps made him decently famous, he has some awesome work. I know he has a huge TH-cam following. Surprised he wasn't on here.
He got big on youtube before the bumps tbh
Cyriak is godly when it comes to those obscure weird asf animations
LMAOOOOOOOO “back when i was doing whippets and wondering if i was gay or not” funny enough i found out this week what a whippet is. 😂
Got hbo max specifically to watch adult swim shows, watching this makes me realize how much I’m really missing out on. Watching adult swim as a kid knowing I should be asleep, seeing all the crazy bumps, the way the shows got weirder as the night went on, knowing it was finally time to sleep as off the air started. That shit just hit different back then man. I miss those times.
The video we all have been waiting for.
There's no stranger feeling then being in middle school and falling asleep with the TV on and waking up at 4AM and adult swim is playing some insane shit
I remember watching Cartoon Network as a kid up until adult swim would come on. I would watch for 10 min tops before changing the channel bc I was creeped out; could only imagine what I would have seen if I kept watching
It was like watching the animated journal of mental patients. I love it now but as a kid it was so wiers.
I had pretty bad insomnia as a young teen exactly when Adult Swim premiered and I loved every minute of it. This was a fun nostalgia trip thank you
Does anyone remember that weird 4am "show" that was like a bunch of fish in a fish tank. Live action. And it had a number you could call in...?? Very strange
Holy crap yes
FishCenter.
Damn, yeah I do. Thats an old neuron you just activated, my friend.
YES OMG.
The fact adult swim created an entire generation of ppl who had a fear of staying up till 1 am on Cartoon Network as a kid
I think it’s entirely possible that these segments the creator of this iceberg swears he saw did exist but only played once for 20 seconds and were never recorded. Just think about all the segments that were only seen by a handful of people watching at a certain time. I think things like this make adult swim that much more interesting.
Dude yes lol, I swear thats where all the lost bumpers come from is just really specific moments that maybe aired once or only at that time of the week for 1 week
@@rzta8209 █████
18:26 Watching this iceberg video unlocked a core memory -- I absolutely remember seeing FLCL on Adult Swim a long time ago!
I’m surprised Xavier: Renegade Angel or ATHF movie prank wasn’t mentioned. I do remember the April fools they drew mustaches on everybody, can’t believe there’s not much more footage of it
XRA might be the smartest cartoon of all time
XRA is God tier
Was thinking the same when he was talking about creepy unsettling shows. Peewee ain't nothing compared to that show!
Inuyasha was the start of my love for anime and I used to stay up all night to watch it on toonami and it is the fondest memory I have as a kid. I watch the show now and it wasn’t as good as I remembered but it is still a good show and I get a huge nostalgia boost when watching it
Dude 100% same here I stayed up till 3am to 4am just to watch those two episodes sometimes as a kid
Inuyasha did not play on Toonami, ever. When Toonami came back for Adult Swim, they got rid of it and only played the Final Act.
@@SonnyGuillory When it premiered, maybe, but they reran Inuyasha continuously from 5 am to 6 am for years before Toonami came back and ruined it.
@@lainiwakura1776 then i was mistaken. watching that show late at night was around the time I first gained consciousness
We didnt get a new tier list video, but we got a new video from an underrated youtuber
The most underrated and best out of all
"Too Many Cooks" is one of the catchiest songs ever 😂😂😂 It's great
“The Dawn is Your Enemy” bump is how I knew I stayed up waaaaaaay too fuckin late
Same lol
You had me at “ if your parents knew all the weird shit you watch they will disown you” HAHAHA #subscribed
[AS] got me into Boards of Canada and other similar electronic (or even hip hop) related music back then. To me, it feels amazing in my mind when hearing songs from old bumpers. So much nostalgia, like one song I heard was "Hey Saturday Sun" from Boards of Canada before watching some anime or an original cartoon from Adult Swim. Thank whoever it was to implement these into the bumps. Occasionally these days, I do hear another Boards of Canada song, like "Roygbiv" on a newer bump (something about tulips or poppies).
Bro i found your channel randomly searching random shit(probably sum my parents would put me down for searching) but i digress BRO YOUR CHANNEL IS EQUILIVENT (sorry if i misspelled that) TO THE CLASSIC ADULT SWIM ERA KEEP UP THE WORK
I miss that era of Adult Swim when I was in elementary school and it was a big part of my childhood, also we know you're Italian and you live in Old New York or Boston or Jersey.
@@Cheezcakenuts what
Tbh I don't watch adult swim much but sometimes i watch this show that they rarely play called off the air, not many people have heard of it, it's like a complation of short skits and,boy
Watching it gives me this feeling that's unexplainable, its feels like being on a lsd trip and feeling scared and peaceful all at the same time.
I was searching for an off the air comment! I was surprised it wasn’t on the iceberg. Great show
I remember when king of the hill would come on I would quickly try to find the remote before my mom would come in
You also forgot about the “she hart she holler” bump where I remember because I was like 13 when I saw it she like pops out of nowhere on the tv show and scares you. AND the one where some guys is recording a bunch of hand in his house and then the guy made of hands ends up in front of him
The hand one is a skit from an episode of Off The Hair! More specifically the episode titled Nightmare
The Dawn is your enemy's fan made version isn't fan made It's actually the real version, I remember seeing it back then and distinctly remembering the Screams and the wink.
Adult Swim original version was simply the image, and then the creepypasta happened in which Adult Swim knows about it...so they showed it again with the slight screams and the sun winking at you
That cant be the reason because it was between 2005-2010, way before Creepypasta's were popular
@@2_sniper23 because Adult Swim is known for only doing things that are popular lmao
Oh god I remember the scream version. Very chilling after staying up nights playing games and having it on the background
As a kid I remember walking by the TV while too many cooks was playing and I thought it was hands down one of the worst most confusing things I have ever seen
I’m glad I’m subscribed you definitely improved
I super remember waking up to "the dawn is your enemy" bump in the middle of the night several times as a kid and thinking I was having some sort of nightmare.
3:49 really like that part added allot to the atmosphere and made my hearing experience way better thanks allot
It was not supposed to be that loud
@@Dantavius wasn't even that bad, but made me really upset at the moment
Anime on Adult Swim started when Toonami was still on afternoons Adult Swim Anime included Full Metal Alchemist, Big O, Ghost In The Shell SOC, and even was the first block to air Naruto before they shifted it to Toonami.
I think you meant on Yu Yu Hakusho, not Naruto. Unless it was planned to air on Adult Swim ACTN but it was taken to Toonami on Summer 2005 at that time.
bruh there was this one anime I remember watching on adult swim but I can't remember the name, I just know like it was really cool and they were in space or something and they had like these halo outfits idk but I only remember seeing it like twice
@@AniToonimationKawaii it was on ACTN and Toonami when it was first airing on Cartoon Network, it was near the end of ACTN
Fun fact: cartoon network had a anime block back in the day called attack of the giant robots
That aired anime films
It was a experimental block that was the gateway for adult swim back in the very early nineties
And they also had a block dedicated to British comedy shows as well
The 808s and heartbreak comment has now made you a goated youtuber
Idk what it is about adult swim as a kid but the pure feeling of melancholy loneliness is just unexplainable. It reminds me of some of the most beautiful yet difficult parts of my childhood. It just gives me a very specific vibe and gives me a sense of nostalgia.
I’m the reason why I cancelled some good Adult Swim shows!
I should've known.
That Night Mind review is highly recommended. Hell, the entire channel is. Also, great video yourself, Dantavius!
Adult swim bumper music is glorious
I'm a bit surprised I don't see anything about Moral Orel on the chart! It was aired on adult swim and idk if a lot of people know about it

Oblongs should be added with Family Guy and Futurama.
People should search Frisky Dingo, and be amazed how similar Archer looks to Xander, and similar archetype. The postcard from the show the character voiced by Killer Mike critiqued in an episode, came with the DVD.

I don’t wanna spoil anything you’re speculating on as a longtime member of the AS family but I’m loving there’s an “iceberg”
As for the Falcon Punch one I might actually recall seeing it as well a couple of years ago maybe around 2017 (Last time I advocately watched television at night was to watch season 3 of Rick and Morty and Legion). Didn't think too much of it just sort of went "Oh, Smash Bros. cool"
For me it was like 2013 lol

Fun fact: unedited footage of a bear and this house has people in it was made by a guy named Alan Resnick, the reason why there is a lot of clay imagery in this house has people in it was because he had a series called sculptures clayground. Alan Resnick actually made one of the most well known ARGS called alantutorial, it's not rlly related but just thought I'd tell u
when i hear adult swim nowadays i think of “running away is easy…”
