  • As part of our 3D Basics series we have an in-depth look at the 180 degree stall turn.
    We break it down into simple parts, and then go through flying this manoeuvre in different ways, how wind affects it, and variations/orientation changes.

    Best of the best show! Amazingly explained, and how to get the sticks' movement input at the right position! You are legend and thanks for such great show! All the best 👍

    Excellent vid Richard and perfect to follow and improve 3d Sport Flying aspects - I haven't flown for a while or done any Heli Shed stuff - life priorities etc but, looking forward to good weather and jumping back in!

    Thank you Richard! It became clear for me in the first moments why my stall turns always looked very different from yours: I was initiating the quarter loop mainly with elevator and did not add so much positive collective. Thats probably the reason why my loops are rather small and tight. Now I undrstand that the big amount of positive collective kind of "pulls" the heli rather forward and upward! Once again your video is brilliantly explained and edited. The stickmoves are explaining so much. I hope the weather allows me to try this tomorrow. It's rather terrible weater right now in Poland. Best greetings!

      @@rchelicopter Richard, I tried to do stallturns with a lot more positive collective pitch and noticed at once that I have much more control when "shaping" the upwards curve! It's such a big difference! As a side effect my loops are now getting much bigger: I also used much more elevator than pos. collective to initiate the loop! Thank you so much!

    Very nice video, love the telemetry and inputs overlay! By the way, your gearing seemsa bit off for the Bank 3 2100rpm headspeed; your PWM is often hitting 100% even with those smooth manouvers. Need a bigger pinion? thanks again for the great content !!

    Awesome. Wondering where the telemetry overlay comes from and how you pull and feed the data to it?

    • @rchelicopter
      @rchelicopter  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. The data comes from the VBar logs. I wrote an app that parses the data and generates the overlay.

  • @jasonwong93
    @jasonwong93 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I love the telemetry overlay and the stick movements although I know that vbar only capture the input every 500ms. It’s a really nice work regardless

    • @rchelicopter
      @rchelicopter  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, it's a pity about the logging rate. Stick movements work for slow stuff, but faster stuff like tictocs just don't show properly.

    • @jasonwong93
      @jasonwong93 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      May be if you can / have interests to use rotorflight and use vbar RX, then you can probably use its black box feature to get quick sticks inputs. But I know it takes time to setup correctly

      @@rchelicopterwhat ESC if you don't mind my asking? On the side turns with the tail pushing and full collective looks more reasonable. On the straights it sounds like you are running a lot of pitch too so maybe there is that. Anyway, just out of curiosity.
