The owner and founder of Little Caesar's Pizza found out that Miss Parks was living in substandard conditions. He gave her a home, without payment, until she died. I wasn't a customer of Little Caesar's but I became one after I discovered this information
It's not that she was living in substandard conditions, she just happened to get robbed and assaulted where she stayed. And it has nothing to do with Black people not having her back, although we should have been the FIRST to respond, I'll admit.
That's amazing, thank you for sharing that fact! I always love hearing of people doing beautiful things for others. I was amazed to see Rosa Parks alive on this broadcast and so honored that I was still alive at a time when she was still alive and I could really see the woman on television that I grew up hearing about in grade school. I like it how they did Tina first, Patti hugged both Aretha AND Tina, and in Lena Hornes video they showed the part when she said she is gonna be Tina for 10 mins lol
But that high A flat in the bridge kicked some of Miss Patti's ass (even with all the screamin and gesturing), just like it has done countless other singers. Aretha's recording of this song set the standard very high. Amber Riley is a strong 2nd. Kelly Price handles it well, but even she lowered the key from Aretha's E flat major down a whole step to D flat. Very few others have been successful in any key.
