Feeding elephant herd gets unexpected visitors🐘🦏

I don't think there is something better than an elephant herd with youngsters feeding peacefully next to the game vehicle. I find it humbling that these giants tolerate you in their presence, as long as you respect their space. I always hope that they enjoy us paying a visit and us admiring them, if they could only knew how much love and appreciation I have for them.
The herd was feeding all around us when out of nowhere 5/6 individuals ran off towards the centre of the herd. Was it a lion that spooked them? Maybe an elephant bull who wants to spend time with the herd? None of the above. Behind the trees we spotted 3 white rhinos who brought a visit to the elephant herd. These guys are very tolerant with each other when feeding away. The main reason? A slightly different diet. Elephant are mixed feeders and can eat both grass or wooded vegetation. This time of the year they mostly go for leaves, small branches and roots. The white rhino feeds only on grass throughout the year. So there is no need for them to scare each other away, especially since there is still plenty of both to go around!

It is in Thornybush Nature Reserve, and yes in the last shot you can see the rhinos mobe through the elephant herd😃
